  • Self-neglect remains a serious and growing health concern. It’s the most common form of elder abuse reported to Adult Protective Services. Research has found that older people with self-neglect have a five-fold increase in death, if not addressed. Veterans with dementia are at higher risk, especially those who live alone. As providers, we must be aware of the warning signs of elder self-neglect, so we can help these Veterans. The health care information provided in this video is for educational purposes only.
