There's a great way I learned to join yarn that doesn't involve knots or weaving in ends.
Have a few inches long tail on both strands. End the last stitch with the new yarn. Hold both strands together and make at least one stitch with both strands. On HDC or bigger- complete half the stitch with both strands, then drop old strand and finish with new. Carry tail of new strand to next row and do a double strand stitch.
This locks the yarn in place and just trim off excess. It's barely noticeable in the finished project where the join is located.
(Tapestry crochet hack) For a color change, carry tail of new color thru a couple of stitches before change. On last stitch before change, drop old yarn forward, pick up new color and finish stitch with new color. Carry old yarn thru a couple of stitches then drop.

I have been learning to crochet over the past 2 months. My grandmother had taught me the chain stitch when I was 3 or 4, but I am left handed and she didn't know how to teach me. (I never understood that, if I sit in front of you, its like a mirror. My mom said the same thing about the guitar. She couldn't teach me because I was left handed. ) I'm now 40. So im making an afghan right now with yarn that belonged to a friend of mine grandmother. So it's about 40 yrs old. It came from the early 80's maybe late 70's. Anyway, it appears I had already subscribed to your channel, but today I watched this hack video. I must say I absolutely love your personality and will be going through your page to watch all of your tutorials. You have a great way w iui th words, so you can explain things good. You make it fun. You made me laugh out loud for real. Thank you!!! Thank u thank u!!!!💚

I discovered crochet only 8 years ago when I was 49 and stopped working. Today it is also my passion and I get withdrawals if I cannot crochet! So, I also do it every day. My favourite things are toys for children - I do not want to make anything for adults. I buy my toy patterns from Pinterest or wherever and I am actually swamped with orders. You, my Dear, is one of the lovely people who taught me a lot, and I am still learning. Thank you for everything you post - I watch your posts while I am working on my own projects. You are very talented and I have so much more to learn. Love from beautiful Cape Town, South Africa.

Thank you, Annoo, for another great video! I tried and can wink 😉 both eyes! I enjoyed all your hacks. Regarding joining the yarn, is this join really secure? It won't come undone? It looks amazing! I love the plastic containers you use to store your crochet hooks in when traveling. I'll have to find some of those. They'd be good to store all kinds of things in, and then just slip into your suitcase. All your hacks were great! For those viewers concerned about wasting yarn when making the pom-pom, the cut off ends can always be saved and used to stuff amigurumi or anything needing to be stuffed, such as puffed hearts, etc. I save all my yarn ends from my projects just for this purpose. Saves on buying that expensive stuffing! Please keep including the "bloopers", Annoo. They're hilarious! I loved your song about the place called "Vertigo" that is down in your ear canal! That's a new one for me! Please keep the videos coming! We love them (and you) and they're very much appreciated!! Thank you, Annoo! Nanu, nanu!!! 💗😉👍💗

Very cool hacks Annoo! I especially like the ones for blending the yarn for a color change and making the huge pompom easily. I am also a huge fan of storage containers and baskets, no matter the size to help me stay organized. Thank you for sharing these hacks & your crochet tutorials Annoo! Love watching your tutorials! God’s wonderful blessings to you and your family always! ☺️🤗☺️🤗

Love number 1! For number 4 I use a zippered make up bag. One section for hooks and one for my other tools, and its great for travel or if you don't have a lot of space.
