I shot my record (-3) 69 on Fri on a pretty tough course. The only thing I thought of was GIOTG, 666, and WWTPICD (what would the playa in chief do). It just works.
Watched this right after my first round of the year where I had a double, a triple, and still shot a 79. What a coincidence! Love the system. Love the channel. Waddalife!
So maybe an unpopular opinion, but I personally feel better about playing well and making shots, but not scoring, as opposed to scoring well but playing poorly.
Enjoying these last 3 videos as you don’t have your best, but still managing to play good golf and walking us through it. Also love seeing you hit that 7W as it’s very relatable to me right now. Looking forward to more 2.0 videos and new BDog content!
I really need to spend this year getting this ingrained into my mind. Love life, stay relaxed, think fully about the next shot, 100% committ and then move on. I do better when I stay relaxed.
I just recently started playing and love these videos. When I am out on the course selecting clubs and targets, I find myself constantly saying things like "Remember the way of the Playa." and "Get it on the green." Thanks for helping me and others rethink how golf for high handicappers should be played.
Your stress free tactics have helped me enjoy golf more. My goal is still to break 100 and I have been close for the last few months, however I tried some swing changes and then didn't play for over a month. I played yesterday and didn't expect it to be amazing. I shot 118 on a course I know well, but I took away the glimpses of great golf. I had an amazing, pro looking birdie on a par 4, the first time I have true birdied a par 4. And had multiple great up and downs and multiple good shots amongst the terrible ones. Keep spreading the good vibes about golf and how to enjoy the good and bad shots :)
Hi Jonathan, I love GolfSide kick channel it has helped me a lot. I am high handicapper 23 atm. I break 100 one thing Matt has stressed about improving ones game is chipping and putting. I practice putting at home a lot. Have you watched Matt’s videos on ruler drill? Just get a metal 3 foot ruler and practice putting ball all the way down ruler. It has eliminated almost all of my three putts. “I have had rounds where I never 3 putt great feeling.” Yet I still make other bad choices course management. I don’t know if you struggle with 3 putting. Just something to consider? Figuring out where we waste shots. I tend to go for hero shot on 2nd shot rather than get the ball back in play or keep it in play. Thank You for letting me rattle on. Helps me see how I can improve my game. Best of Luck to You breaking 100. You got this. Peace bro
Love that some more whiteboard sess' are coming Baus! 6-6-6 break 90 for me, source out the best holes for pars and the rest falls in to place (6 bogey, 6 double bogey +18 happy life!).
Your approach to golf is top notch, breaking it all down to seem so simple. I'm trying my utmost to stay relaxed and in the moment on the course, easier said than done for me 🤣🤣😬
My goals this year...break 80 as often as possible. Shot 78 last weekend with 2 tee shots OB into 15+mph constant wind...best round I have played in a long time! One shot at at time regardless of what just happened.
Greetings from Missouri! I’m Currently trying to break 90…. The struggle is real :) I’m a lefty with a hook so if I miss hit, my shot shape is bound to go out of bounds, I’ll definitely try the 666 system because I think it will psychologically keep my head in gear and keep me from miss hitting :) thanks for the pointers!
Course management, and Matt is right, we as golfers should know our potentials on what we can hit and feel comfortable hitting it. Short game is what I always work on..150 yards in!
@@davidfournier3355 I agree 👍 I shot +9 on the front 9 of my home course. I had 4 pars and 1 birdie but I had blow up holes from poor course management and strategy…. I betcha I could’ve gone lower if I had been smarter. I agree with your other stuff you mentioned to!
@@davidfournier3355 I agree with that as well, if I can get it on the green in two on a par 4, I can come out with par or bogey 75% of the time. I just have mental lapses either off the tee or on the fairway or rough that keep my from getting on the green more often. That’s where the working on 150 yards and in helps out :)
@@bi7040 Wadda Playa bucket and polo (seriously), arm sleeves, lots of ice cold water in metal insulated bottles, big reflective golf umbrella, and "neck gators" soaked in cold water to wrap around the neck. Go at your own pace, practice and play different shots and focus on how nice it is just to be out playing. Thanks for the great content playa!

Hey Matt, been thinking of booking my next golf holiday in Thailand. That course looked lovely but away from the main golfing destinations? Can you recommend any 'If you come to Thailand to golf you have to play...' locations?
Hello playa, new sub here. I have a question, what is that angelic music that plays every time you get a birdie? Is it the golf god singing? :) so beautiful.
Hey, If someone can help me out that would be great, I am a very new golfer, 6 months. I have been going to the driving range 1-2 times a week, hitting approximately 220 balls each time. (Even had two lessons, and to be honest they weren’t the best, coach didn’t really tell me to do anything different or new). The driving range I go to you can even play a virtual round of golf through top tracer. I shoot pretty good best is +7 on St. Andrews on the tips, but for the most part I’m anywhere from +7 to the worst is like +18. Now I know that there isn’t putting ( you chip near a post and how many putts depends how close you are) and golfing on an actual course is much much harder than then just a preferred lie every time lol. So anyway I really really want to start golfing at an actual golf course but I’m terrified of just not being good enough and that I may be judged or frowned upon or whatever due to my inexperience. None of my friends are even remotely interested in golfing. I don’t want to golf alone due to the fact that a lot of times I don’t see where my ball flies. ( some days my flights are consistent and I can guess but other times it can be everywhere.) How do I get started in golfing at a course and get connected with the golfing community and get out on the course and all that. Will people mind if I’m not the greatest if I go solo and join a group? Or however it works. So anyway how do I just even get started.
Playa Everyone is bad at golf when they start. Every time I have been paired with randoms, they have been a delight! Go have fun and don't worry about the score. You're honestly probably better than most people when they go to the course for the first time.
