All the more incredible when you remember that English isn't their first language. Words and context easily get lost in translation, so for ABBA to write such amazing songs is truly remarkable
As a kid, i found this song boring, but now as an adult i find it really beautiful and really love it. Frida and Agnetha sound amazing singing together on this. Thanks for reacting to it!
so happy to see you again with ABBA songs "Fernando" (1976) is a soft ballad, so nice and beautiful The best is the beauty of their vocal harmonies, very soft at the whisper level but at a level of perfection, that explodes in a magic chorus Lately I have compared it to "Chiquitita" (1979) because they have similarities and contrasts Both have the title in Spanish, and was recorded in spanish too (to the album in spanish "Gracias por la Música" In 1980) Both are pop ballads with an initial verse sung alone and from the second chorus in duet, with a very catchy and popular chorus (in my country Argentina they would be songs that we would sing in a circle of friends, because we all know their lyrics) The two videos show the contrast of fire and snow, night and day They were both very most worldwide successful, only behind Dancing Queen ABBA had already recorded "Dancing Queen" and it came from the success of "Mamma Mía" It was the manager who convinced them to record "Fernando" so as not to repeat the style (Frida had done it before on her solo album in Swedish and it was a success) He was right and everything was a success, one after another in that year 1976, with three #1 consecutives in UK Mamma Mía (2 weeks) Fernando (4 weeks) Dancing Queen (6 weeks) In addition, this variety of options had different results in each country. "Fernando" was a colossal success in Australia (14 weeks at #1 surpassed the "Hey Jude" mark) and 7 weeks at #1 in Germany "Dancing Queen" was 14 weeks #1 in Sweden and six weeks #1 in the U.K. Both were #1 in the U.S. but in various rankings: "Dancing Queen" on the Billboard and "Fernando" on Adult Contemporary The official video of "Fernando" was filmed in February 1976, with Dancing Queen the next day in these Official Video you could see: Bjorn and Benny, both in guitars Frida and Agnetha confronted both in frontal and profile images (repeating the Mamma Mia technique used) premiering her gypsy style dress (when they performed on TV in UK Germany Australia with these dresses they did it barefoot) and a last comparation as S.O.S. (1975) is first ABBA single with Agnetha in lead voice, and recorded in her solo album in Swedish (released after ABBA) "Fernando" (1976) is first ABBA single with Frida in lead voice, and recorded in her solo album in Swedish (released before ABBA) Thanks so much for these video I wish you a great week See you in the next My best regards from Buenos Aires Argentina
Another comment PS: I feel very honored and grateful for this special dedication, for keeping me in mind from a distance You are a very nice person and these little details shows and prove it PD2: I have had the opportunity to see some short videos that have been shared about ABBA's Voyage Concerts in London, and I have been fascinated by the special work that ABBA did anyone who goes will have not only the music of ABBA, but the dance floor, the shop and buffet, all in one, something absolutely new
Hello Psyche, Greetings from across the pond!!! Just like Eduardo, I too am a huge ABBA Fan, so I "thank you" as well for keeping great music alive and for this amazing reaction!!!
Longest running number 1 single in Australia's history ! That's in physical sales, when you had to actually go to a store and buy the vinyl single. ABBAmania was alive and well here :)
Lately I've been listening a lot to "Dame, Dame, Dame" the spanish version of "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme". I didn't pay much attention to their spanish versions, was more into their english versions; but, holy cow, that spanish version is a whole new experience, so energetic, it feels almost wilder than the english one.
It is a fabulous song, so deep in meaning and it has not lost it's meaning over the years. Still relevant. And Frida nails the lead and both women make the chorus shine. And Frida is a classic beauty. Agnetha is a very beautiful woman. By the way, you are a very nice person. I enjoy your interest in the music and your sweet demeanor.
On holiday, so ipad is effectively ignored. BUT psyche plus ABBA demands attention. Thank you for this reaction. I had not seen this video before and it is beautiful. The camera work swapping between the girls plus both together, plus Benny and Bjorn. As for the sound, Freda and Agnetha sound like angels then and, as Voyage proves, still do.
Hello dear Brian, I hope your holiday is going well. You are so kind and supportive to constantly keep checking in -that says a lot. Makes sure you stay safe and at the end if it let us all know the highlights of your trip. It sounds 'anazing'. 😊🙋🏽♀️🌹
Great ABBA song commentary and your accent and your facial features while this song was playing was tremendous you gave a great commentary also I'm your number one fan my heart skipped a beat by The cover girls is one of my favorite songs when I play that song now I think of you you're my number one fan
☺ Bless you Gegory and thank you very much - humbly appreciated! Have a wonderful rest of week - and here's Abba's playlist on my channel for you to enjoy but only when you have time. Psyche 🙋🏽♀🌹ruclips.net/p/PLWQGjnqwg9JKldnlXlB18-rbyfxdWkH1q

She certainly is 🌹
I had forgotten about this song until I heard it in an episode of that 70’s show. I love this song ❤️🎵

Super 🎉👍
The dark haired girl is Frida, she went solo and wrote a song "There's something going on". It's a great song, check it out.

@@6549Marci That song always brings me back to a certain time.

Great song am singing along ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I was feeling down so the doctor told me to take two ABBA songs every day ❤
