The shock I felt from clicking on a random funny-looking video and discovering what Wendover Sam looks like is immense
I was shook
What, i didn’t even realize till I saw your comment 😂
The very same happened to me. I got so excited when he used the word "therefore" for the first time in the video 😄
Holy crap, that was amazing that Sam's curse card actually saved him a bit, because Ben and Adam were headed to where he planned to go.
You can play a small version of this in cities with good public transportation. Played it in Munich with friends, the friends only had to update their location every 12 or 13 minutes or so. It worked out well because there are bus lines, that take you as far as subway lines, as well as tram lines, that have more stops but take you around the neighborhood and low speed rail, that can take you to outskirts. Also, all of that is connected through one app on your phone in Munich.
A lot of fun! And as a newcomer (new student) in the city, you get to know where you’re going real fast.
Hey, ich finde das klingt mega spannend, hast du noch mehr Infos oder vlt sogar ne Webseite dafür?
My siblings and i did this in rotterdam and it's a lot of fun ^^ can recommend
With the German Ticket this could get so exciting 😌
ah yes, I love Munich!. Ive memorized all the U bahn lines and the stations lmao
There is this TV show in the Netherlands called jachtseizoen (hunting season).
Basically the premise is you have four hours to escape, your location is shared every 10 minutes, and you cant use any form of transport for more than 20 minutes. Also you cant start with anything. It was pretty great.
I really appreciate the team's extra effort in making decent subtitles; not a lot of channels do that effort but it really helps a larger number of people maximise their appreciation of the content.
Really underrated aspect!!!
It seems "Caption Plus" is the company that does it. Tom Scott often uses the same company.

The color is awesome! I've never seen anyone do that before!

I have to say, I love this version of the game way more, there is just so much more potential in this tag format lol. It’s also fun getting to watch different people team up.

Aw ben and adam are actually so endearing. Watching the US jetlag first was not the move to get to know them, was rooting for Sam and seeing luck on their side was aggravating. But this one was nice, the team dynamic was wholesome, getting to see their interactions with Sam was cool.
I already knew that Sam is an F1 fan, but I didn't know until now that he's a Ricciardo man. Must've been some tough times for him, these last two years...

It makes a lot of sense since they seem to be using interrail tickets which are flat rate for a specific period. They are only valid in countries you don’t live in though but for Americans it’s prefect.

Sam only has two (reasonable) options for getting out of Calais. I haven’t seen E2 yet so Idk if he does these, but
1. He goes back to Lille and psyches out Ben and Adam
2. He vetoes the curse and gets caught in Dunkirk

I love this video!
I love the idea of playing tag with some extra playing rules through Europe!
I also like it that all three of the guys filming the journeys they make
Imagine hiding in the bathroom of the train, so the train starts before you're tagged, the guy that goes next won't want to tag you and lose part or all of his 45 minutes, so the 3rd would want to tag, all while moving closer to your destination.
knock! "Ben if you are are in here this counts as tag, you piece of poop." Very confused passenger whose name happens to be Ben.
@@stevenroshni1228 I wonder if they would have had the foresight to codify in the rules that knocking on a stall door counts as a tag.
It's funny, cause something similar is happening rn ;p (in ep 6, not entirely the same tho)
@@yehet8725 The debate of tag or not tag happened, though Sam didn't hide because he wasn't aware they were on him.
That card deck is super cool! They should consider making the card deck into something we can buy and play ourselves; it'd be interesting how some of the challenges would compare in different parts of the world.

"It's a bus, but it's ran by the train company". Sounds about right.
Completely, I only have one metro line where I live, but it manages busses from the last station to other nearby town because it makes transfer to the metro easier.
sounds about right to this American! (I couldn't find out if it's all or just some that are actually operated by third party contracts).
Buses are regularly operated by a train company and in the UK bus companies run train services, in London TFL operates the tube, Overground, trams, buses and the cable car

Well played! I also did Interrail a couple of times, it really gives you a great spontaneity in travelling. Looking forward to the further episodes.
"It's all right if you loose constantly, if you have fun doing it." Nice Danny Ric reference.
My thoughts on strategy:
Head to Germany ASAP. Germany has public bike sharing (Call a Bike) across ~40 cities. It's unclear whether you can pick up a bike in one city and drop it off in another. If you can, great, that makes things easier-but if not, simply bike out into the countryside and start racking up challenges in obscure locations (this part would work in any city that has public bike sharing, not just DE). Start by biking along a major train route for 45 min so it looks like you're on the train (choose a low speed one so your speed looks conceivable; they may sniff this out). Choose a stop as far away that has no bike share and you can get there before they do on the next public transit. Stay there until the next public transit from the starting point departs. Then take off in a direction that has no public transit with your bike. Start racking up challenges, bouncing from place to place that doesn't have easy public transit opportunities in a randomized manner.
You'll get a TON of points this way. Then - they know you'll have to return to the same city to return your bike. But rather than choosing the main train station or something, find an alternate departure point (e.g. intra-city bus stop, smaller train station, etc.). Get there max 5 min before your departure, fly off into the sunset. Granted, you could still be caught, BUT you have so many more options incl flights for later on based on how many pts you racked up.
I don't have access to the full rules, but this seems possible based on what's been stated so far (but who knows they're pretty good about rules so it may not be possible). You would obviously have to be a very strong biker as well (I've done ~50 miles on a citi bike and it was a nightmare lol).
