Countries with strict immigration will decline. Places like USA, Australia, Canada, uk, France, Germany others allow foreign from all over. These immigrants have more kids than locals. Many on this list are leaving for other countries like I mentioned. There are other reasons like high education and costs to raise a child is too high. And most of the countries in Europe with a large number of immigrants and refugees have data showing that immigrants and refugees are increasing the birth rate.

They made several projections, this was their middle of the road, but we are closer to their more extreme projection now, due to covid. So while you are right that projections so far out will have its flaws, they aren't far off.

@@mathias9242 Japan has been trying the same thing, but with little effect. Singapore has also tried an array of incentives and advertising to slow or reverse rapidly falling fertility rates with no significant effect. I lived in both nations 7X starting in 1957, families were rarely large even then, when Japan had recently rebuilt from the war, and Singapore, now one of the most beautiful, clean, and ultramodern cities in the world, was just another dirty, densely populated 'third world' colony. Their more urbanized areas (both have extensive nature reserves, and Japan is still largely uninhabited mountain forests) are now, outside of areas preserved for their historical and cultural importance, almost unrecognizable from what they were in 1957, but soaring living standards have been accompanied by plunging fertility rates. Religious and ethnic diversity in Singapore notwithstanding, all of their 3 main ethnic groups (Han Chinese, Tamil Indians, Malays) have seen fertility rates fall below replacement levels.
Italy, which has been the most child and family oriented of the European nations that I've lived in, has also seen a plunge in fertility rates, markedly more so than their northerly non-Soviet Bloc neighbors.
Denmark did see a slight jump in their fertility rate after a government program of financial incentives and advertising was initiated. This was shortly before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has depressed fertility rates in nearly all developed nations, and I would be surprised if Denmark's fertility rates don't continue their long term decline.
