Oh yeah in the beginning it was like a tractor hahaha 😆 no but I have to say it works good and I like it but there are situations that it can be definitely on the harsher side. I’m always honest brother and wouldn’t BS my community 💪🙂
Excellent video sir.. I have manual Elantra N with purple lower, purple transmission and purple engine.. it’s near perfect.. some very minor NVH if you look for it but when driving you just don’t notice.. even slow speeds all good.. maybe slight pulse through steering if revving at idle.. I’ve tried a few setups… the black PF upper insert adds too much NVH… all purple is about as much for a daily.. all good.. yellow upper also ok… for those that want smooth and effective I would recommend all purple, all yellow would also do the job….. I also tested standard Elantra N torque arm bushes vs base Elantra bushes and stock N is stiffer but not Upto job on our cars… go all yellow or All purple…
I don’t know about that, I did my oil change last weekend and everything look normal meaning mount and all but I wasn’t really looking around at other parts I will probably do that once I get my purple bushings 😉
Installed Powerflex purple on all 3 points (Santa was nice!). The wheel hop is now negligible, and it's not so rough at low RPM to be overwhelming. As I told my service head....not to be crass, but it's like someone left a vibrator turned on under the seat. A win-win perhaps?😂
@PolishBullitt 100% on point as usual. Your running the equivalent of a powerflex black bushing on both ends which is to much NVH for a lot of people on a daily driven vehicle. Tell your friend to not even bother with the yellow lower mount as it's to soft to be effective and is prone to tearing. Also a FYI if you do the small end of the lower the removal will require a hydraulic press to get out without taking hours if you even can. Any local shop with a press can do it for $20 and about 5 min but I would skip it as I think it adds to much NVH vs benefit. Personally IMO a full replacement of the lower mount is a waste of money as the factory one with upgraded bushings will be good to around 375 wheel hp/torque at least from a structural standpoint. I run a purple (big end) lower, black upper engine insert and black trans insert. The motor and trans adds some additional NVH but not a lot compared to the change you get for the lower. It's all a compromise at best but I believe this combo is one of the most livable. I would do all 3 as the other two virtually eliminate any wheel hop you still might get from time to time with just the lower. Maybe do one at a time in stages for a good comparison? Purple all around on all 3 might be a possibility also but I don't think they will not be as effective as the blacks since the top two are just inserts to fill the voids in the existing bushings. I think they need to be harder (black) to effectively control movement since they still utilize the soft OEM material on the outside. BTW...I don't care what anyone says otherwise but I literally installed over 40 upper, lower, trans mounts and inserts and they all add some NVH for sure! Anyway just some thoughts
Thanks brother for your insight as always, I don’t mind having my boomba mount cause I always looking to be as connected with the car as possible, I made that video mostly for people looking for an answer cause I was too and nobody was there to help haha but I will definitely try purple bushings just to have an idea and who know I might keep them on my car 😉
@@PolishBullitt Defiantly worth a shot. My bet is you will like them. Also another tip if you get tuned have your tuner up the idle about 200 RPM and the vibrations at idle from the mount will be a lot less.
I noticed it right away in your car but it didn't bother me either honestly. Once my Powerflex trio goes in you'll have to drive my car and see how it is...whenever that will be😋
I installed the Purple Torque Mount and Yellow Motor Mount and Trans Mount from Powerflex and I also have the Rear Bushing for the Torque Mount, just need to press out the old one and press in the new one.
You should try the purple bushing . I have heard that it reduces wheel hoop and feels pretty as stock mount because you are only adding the bushing. Will love to see it
Most performance parts upgrades don't have luxury and comfort in mind usually. It's a sacrifice one must endure to get the gains lol. I had a 4g63t motor in my old car, had the balance shaft belt deleted on the motor AND I was running 3 polyurethane engine mounts and the car was a daily summer car. I honestly didn't really mind or even notice it too much, but then again the car made 500 HP (92 Sonata) and everything was loud and everything was making noises and I loved it. I was in my 20's then so it might be a different story today with me in my mid 40's lol 😂.
Oh yeah definitely it’s hard to mix performance with comfort but for daily driving you can definitely find some happy medium. Trust me when I was in my 20’s I would care for anything but more powa baby hahaha 🤣
@klasseact6663 I got myself wheel cleaner, you know I’m looking for one that I can spray on and rinse 30 seconds later and it will look perfect with no agitation 😆 maybe o e day I know hahaha 🤣
@PolishBullitt sorry, that product doesn't exsist and certainly would NEVER come from THAT product line. I know he's a legend in the low rider community but that carries ZERO WEIGHT in the true detailing enthusiasts world. This line will be marked down with big, red tags within a year, if it even takes that long🫣
@klasseact6663 I know haha 😆 maybe one day we get product like that cause I’m tired of cleaning my wheels 😆😉 yeah I know it’s most likely a bs collaboration but I just want to check it out besides never enough of wheel cleaner lol
Appreciate the honesty brother . I could tell right away when you installed it you weren't super happy with the vibration

Also a mount that is too stiff could cause crack in downpipe… as exhaust moves and if mount too stiff,, the load on the downpipe??

@hectoribarra8473 I will probably do it so more people have a better idea what to go for 🙂
