Must be hard for Sans to be the only Monster that seems to really keep track of all the timelines and resets but NOT have the ability to do anything about it. All he can do is wait for whatever inevitable destiny he's gonna have and it all rests of Frisk's shoulders. Sans likes Frisk, but is afraid of the kid as well because of that power.

I felt so guilt ridden about resetting. Even if I was just going to go through as a pacifist again.
So I copied my game onto a thumbdrive and put in the sill of my window facing the sunrise, that way everyone could always live on the surface.

Jeez sans, your life must be hell, knowing about all those timelines, not forgetting when resets occur, always knowing when a timeline resets, I wouldn't take it anymore to be honest.
Actually no, instead of just letting it happen to me I would do something about it! Maybe steal a soul, or all the souls, of the fallen children the next time frisk resets, then I would become so powerful that I would have the ability to reset timelines, and I would either not use it or figure out a way to destroy it entirely, cuz I'm the end, NO ONE should have that power.....

Aww. So cute. Imagine, 59 years later, sans is like "heh, winter, nice." And see papyrus in his battle body. Imagine the breakdown, the depression. Just so you can do it again, and again. Switch it up with a few geno routes, and keep doing it over and over and over~
It's moments like this that makes you forget that it's only 'just a game' and it gets you right in the feels

I honestly love this sort of concept. A lot of people seem to think that as soon as Sans is left on a pacifist route, he would be perfectly fine, but if we take in what made him so upset in the first place, that would not be the case. Taking how a lot of his depression came from resets, and him knowing that a good ending wouldn't last forever, he would likely have...problems... A lot of em. Sans would likely develop a sort of paranoia about resetting. This sort of problem could end with him going into states of panic. Also, we can assume that he holds in a lot of negative feelings, so likely enough he could just randomly snap, and break into tears.
I like writing my headcanons :P
Although I love this animation there is a slight misconception here. Sans does not keep his memory between resets and saves. He only knows or rather has a strong suspicion that they exist due to his research in science combined with the fact that he notices when Frisk is acting strangely e.g: He says that "You haven't died a single time. Hey what's that look supposed to mean? Am I wrong?"

...Which is precisely why if I beat Sans I'm gonna reset straight after (so as not to taint all the pacifist runs that could follow) and do another pacifist run. And then never reset after that. And if I don't beat Sans? I'll still do the same. I don't think I'm cut out for killing, so I dunno if I can beat Sans, especially since I'm a pacifist in real life. The whole playthrough I've been bawling like a baby. The genocide route is NOT advisable if you suffer from depression or panic attacks.
People use this game as some sort of morality test. It's not. Some of the nicest people around could do the genocide route. Not because they hate the characters, or like the concept of killing, but because they love the game so much they want to see every angle of it. I mean, can any of you honestly say you'd like Sans just as much if you'd never seen what the genocide path is like? I personally wouldn't. Don't get me wrong, Sans is my spirit animal. I find him the most relatable character in the game. But the geno-battle made me aware of all his flaws, and made me realise that he's not all sunshine and rainbows. He's actually chronically depressed from the constant time loops, which, again, I can relate to in a way. Which makes him a well-rounded character. A real hero, not some overpowered Superman.
Though I suppose some people would argue that he IS overpowered. Even though, y'know, his main weakness was something many of us have. An allergy to exercise.
I wish I could reply to that, honestly I do, but all I can say is I agree with every single word in that comment.

Agreed, I just don't have the heart to kill papyrus or the patience to go though sans battle, I'm scared that I will become so frustrated it will ruin his character for me
+Elizabeth King I loved doing the multiple routes of Undertale to find out the different interactions and endings it would create. I felt bad for doing genocide, but i thoroughly enjoy it because of the challenging battles of Undyne and Snas. First time i beat Undyne was like around the 50th or so try, while sans was probably like 100 or more. When i played genocide route again it took me three tries to beat Undyne and five tries to beat Sans. I felt accomplished, but seeing them die after watching all these super feely comics kinda hurts lol. I beat both of them in one try on my third genocide route.
So touching... (*I love it!*)
