    Would it be simpler to glue the graphite rings together first then do the grinding? That would remove any glue and create a uniform surface across the segments.

    I wonder if you can substitute the graphite with a long ferrite core tube or even just a 1501 steel and just relay on precise cutting with smoothing an polishing and the air cushion that way a heatsink can be added inside the ferrite or steel air barring to faster cooling and get to higher rpms without adding more air then necessary just to cool them and for long term automated mass production and with supercaps on the rise so will the price for graphite that and china buys up a lot of it.

      @@iEnergySupply to make a air bushing you should be able to use the lathe to bore it and a sanding stone bit and a polishing bit to finish it make shure all corners are rounded and you should be able to use high temp rubber oring gasket's I think all that can be found at a hardware store other than round heatsinks from ebay and a new housing from your 3d printer and bam air bushings on a budget should last longer than graphite.

    Seems like the glue between the three sleeves would/could prevent air flow from the middle sleeve to the other sleeves but maybe this gets spread out in the casing first and evenly penetrates the graphite from all sides? A diagram of this would be cool. Also it seems like the gluing of the graphite sleeves into the housing would be equally as tricky to do right and should be shown. There was no explanation as to why the end of the shaft was pointed and touches an end-plate on one side. Is the table slightly tilted to keep the shaft touching the endplate? What air pressure did you use? How long should these bearings last? Wouldn't they grind themselves down quickly and become loose? Definitely works! Don't forget to wear a mask at your next orgy!

      Surprisingly all the problems are non existent, sorry for the missing details. My camera man had to go and I was impatient to test it. I will have more details next time, it saves tones of time in the comments. The point stops the shaft. The graphite is a natural lubricant and actually doesn't touch the shaft when the air is on, when the air is off there isn't any appreciable wear Graphite has some very unique properties and is actually used in this application in commercial applications but are extremely expensive and companies don't like to sell them to just anyone. 80-100 psi. The bearings glued into the end pies just like I glued the graphite together but gets glued to the bottom inside.
      Lol I wasn't expecting that to happen but when it did I was like hm.... I think ill leave it in for a little humor/entertainment.

    air bearings are really dangerous.... when speed goes really high, the magnets holding the construction will demagnetize during heat and make the construction unstable pretty fast....and keep in mind the force in small flying objects.. might be a good idea to stand behind cover when running a tesla turbine with air bearings... good luck, i looking forward to see this air bearing tesla turbine. :)

      Blast shields are always used when I am unsure what will happen, good safety looking out. I've actually got multiple videos of what can go wrong if you go too fast when your side walls are too far away from the periphery of the casein. You must have a close tolerance if your rotor is brittle so that it can slightly stretch and break it's self like breaks in a car to prevent critical speed.

    Now when hooking up the tesla turbine use the turbine to power the air bearing as well no point wasting air pressure , tesla valve might help you there.
    than when that's done build the "earthquake machine" (frequency manipulator) and power it with the turbine , set it to full send and "fucking send it" , make sure to film it tho , live stream , let's see what crazy frequency does I'm sure it will be wild

      Great ideas! Yeah can you imagine a nearly friction-less air bearing and a nearly friction-less piston with magnetic bumpers on the earthquake machine!! Also lol we could add combustion to the pistons!

    I bet you could use a fine casting powder like Fuji Platinum to form these porous bushings. Im really pleased by this whole process you have developed.

    So do the graphite sleeves also spin on the cushion of air and also let the shaft spin without friction inside the sleeve at the same time like the shaft can spin freely faster than the graphite sleeve can spin on the air ride or does spin?

      @@iEnergySupply graphene repels magnets and under a vacuum there is little to no resistance. Graphene makes a great battery as well. And graphene is a type of carbon so it is lightweight and strong.

    would you be interested testing a tesla turbine ramjet engine, centrifugal compression pump out? gasoline, kerosene, anything liquid enough, to pass through, center air and fuel mix inlet. how about maglev bearings?

      Good question! I was actually planning on using steam for the air bearings, make a steam air bearing hybrid.
