240 miles on one charge. Today's diesel semi's still get 6 to 8 mpg with the avg. being 6.5 With a set of 200 gallon tanks, you're getting 2500 miles on 400 gals. You can get Diesel at a truck stop any time, any where. On our travels across the country in the past year, we've not seen ONE "charging station" for semi's at ANY of the truck stops we got fuel at. One of the things electric car/truck makers DON'T tell you is the COST and time to fully charge an EV. We have a 42' 5th wheel RV, towing with a Ford F350. I get 10 to 12 MPG . We have a 48 gal tank and this truck ROCKS! It hauls ass up, down, and level better than I ever would think. Try THAT in a battery wind up EV
I drove a 1976 Mack fire Pumper wich had a Maxedine engine awesome Truck had 1000 Gal booster tank and a two stage waterous fire pump. CF 600 i think . Handeled very well on the road.
MY FIRST TRUCK l learned how to drive on was on old 86 dump truck in the army ,not the most comfortable option but very solid work horse .My friends parents drove the early 90s HWY models and they loved em also much more snazy than the dumptrucks :)
Every time I hear success stories like this I can't help but take a look at myself and ask "why tf don't I have this type of vision? Why can't I have this type of drive and ambition??" These type of men, it's like they see something and think "How can I make this better?" These men just seem to have it in their blood, to build, to improve, to make society better, and to make a name, a legacy, and a fortune for themselves in the process. Like, why can't I do something like that??? I'm 35 and have done NOTHING so far. 😔
There are no white brand trucks. Freightliner was never a white. Freightliner was built by White motors for Consolidated Freightlways. At one time connected with Autocar trucks as well as Western Star. Mercedes Benz bought Freightliner out in the mid to late 70's. And Mack is now owned by Volvo. International trucks are owned by I believe it is the same conglomerate that owns Ruenalt. Only American trucks to day are Paccar built Kenworth and Pererbuilt.
