@@tdrexplorer thank you for posting this! My daughter just broke her leg and we are going to Tokyo Disney soon. Perfect timing- thank you for all the helpful information.
I’m an amputee and use a wheelchair at the parks. We’ve actually made a video about Tokyo Disney with some tips and you are right to assume the language barrier is HARD! We’ve traveled in Japan quite a bit and nothing speaking Japanese makes the process very, very long. Plus you feel like you have to prove what you can and cannot do all day, which as someone with a permanent disability is exhausting. We love Tokyo Disney and will continue to go, but people should know what to expect.
Omg I heard Kitra’s voice and recognized it immediately!! I love Ordinary Adventures as well as TDR Explorer, it’s so cool to see you guys together!! We love a crossover!!
@@tdrexplorer I’m honored for you to comment on my comment!! Thank you for being such a comforting channel for me, watching your channel helps my anxiety immensely and also gives me many ideas for if I ever go to Japan
my fiance and I both gasped when we saw you in the wheelchair. We were like CHRISTOPHER WHAT HAPPENED! We're happy that you're okay and it was just a minor accident! Wishing you a speedy recovery!
I've been following back since you had like 350 followers, and I'm glad to see you have grown your challenge in a great way. I hope your health improves soon though, because we want to see you jumping and enjoying yourself like you always do!!
That means so much to me! You've been here a while, one of the OG Explorers! I love that. Thank you for the kind words, things have been healing over this last month.
Love seeing you loving Tokyo Disney and using your situation to still make content and spreading joy ❤ 4:16 shout out to cameraman! 🎉 11:37 some Ordinary Adventures ❤ happy to see you guys hanging out
That book is a BEAST!! I have managed to read it once, so my the odds ever be in your favor my fellow fantasy lover!! Fun video and I appreciate how informative it was!!
I Love a Tokyo Disneyland Cameo of My Friends Kitra and Peter (I Know that They have Their Vlogs from Tokyo Disney is in the Works). I'm Glad You're Doing Better.
Great Video and very informative. Thanks for everything you do and I hope you get better soon. Thanks to your advice I went to Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea on a vacation package and my boyfriend and I had a blast. He isn't a Disney fan so the fact that we didn't have to wait in lines for very long made it much more enjoyable for him and probably saved us from quarreling a little bit. Keep up the awesome videos.
Thank you so much for these videos! The Hong Kong one made me quite emotional. My favorite theme park in my country recently opened a new ride, and during the building process they kept saying that it would be wheelchair accessible. Since they demolished one of my favorite shows to build this one, I was really looking forward to it. But it turns out that the ride ISN'T wheelchair accessible at all. If you use a wheelchair you can't go into the main building; you're taken to a different building that's only accessible if you can get out of your chair, and then you're shown a mini movie version of the ride on a screen. I was so sad when I found out about it! And then seeing the incredible carts in Hong Kong that actually allows you to enter them in your wheelchair... It does make me wonder why other parks don't include at least one cart like that per ride, if the attraction allows it of course. But yeah. Great videos! And hopefully your knee heals up soon ❤
I listened to the podcast before watching this video, so I'm glad to see some similarities as well as some differences regarding the park's wheelchairs -- I especially like that Tokyo Disney's wheelchair has a lock for the person pushing the wheelchair, a neat little feature to have for a wheelchair. I hope your knee feels better soon so you can continue exploring!
When we went to TDR with my (now late) mother a few years ago, we rented the battery-assisted push wheelchair, and it was AMAZING. It really helped us when we were going uphill. For 1000 yen it is a bargain and one I would recommend over the manual wheelchair.
This was an interesting video to watch as I work with a young lady who is profoundly disabled so i found it interesting to see how other cultures and countries work with the disabled. Hope your on the mend and not to much pain. Sending hugs
Hi I’m from Saskatoon! Been watching you for quite sometime! Your not missing much of the Canadian weather specialty now❄️❄️ Hope you feel better soon🙏 Take care & God bless🙏
Hi Chris! I'm wondering if you might have an inkling as to what times the Tokyo Disneyland Marching Band plays? My partner and I love them and don't want to miss it on our trip next week! Thank you so much :)
I agree with lighting lane idea. I visited the Tuesday before the long weekend and it was insanely crowded and uncomfortable. I am someone with invisible disabilities and it was too much for me. I do not have legal paperwork for the disabilities but I’m glad you highlighted the non DAS service. They overall need to have a better and stressful system for the disabled community.
Thanks so much for this! I'm going to be visiting with my father who uses a wheelchair next year. Are there any attractions that he can take the chair on if he can't transfer? In the US parks, there's a wheelchair boat for attractions like Small World, so I'm wondering if that's a possibility for Small World (and Sindbad). Thanks!
Hi! I've been watching your videos as a comfort as if I'm there, and now I'm finally going to Disneysea for the first time on the 9th, are there any tips you recommend? I'm really excited to go but I want to make the most out of my trip ❤🫶
Really interesting to see how different the process can be. When I came for the first time in July and rode Pooh’s hunny hunt I needed additional time to load in to the ride vehicle so was taken straight through the gift shop to the exit and loaded there. Everyone was really helpful but using translator apps to try and communicate your needs was tricky at times.
Thank you! I have an international access card (with wheelchair symbol, and a +1 symbol) and a disabled parking badge, is that enough? I don't want the reduced price ticket, just don't want to run into any obstacles and my doctor charges good money for a note and doesn't see the need to sign notes for "fun" things Is the motorized wheelchair an ECV? or literally a powerchair? I don't want to fly with mine but would need one.
I visited my best friend in Japan and went to Tokyo Disney too! We talked about you a lot and we finally had apple soda tea! It was delicious! And this was a great watch; I spent most of the time on my feet but I had such bad foot pain I needed to go on a wheelchair during Disney SEA. It was very doable but I wish there was a way to not get submerged in people in stores.
hi Chris thanks for showing us this a question I have autism I can walk and everything but if I wanted use the das pass it would work for me or is just for people with physical disabilities 🦀
Wow those lines look intense! The various protocols for different rides and experiences seem pretty confusing. Particularly if you don’t understand Japanese. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you for watching! As I mentioned in the video, it was a long weekend and a Saturday, which is almost always best to avoid but this was the only day I could film. It's not always this bad.
I hired a motorized scooter from Tokyo disney (in 2020) when we went it was so easy, the people were so nice. I had to do a little drivers test which was funny. Just had to show I could turn, stop and go without hitting anyone. The scooter is slower than walking speed though which lead to many giggles with my friend. Everyone was so nice and the road was (mostly) smooth, I only did one ride the haunted mansion but it was a really easy process we were prepared to wait in line but they bumped us up and had the scooter waiting for me at the end of the ride. I wish we had gone earlier in the trip because by then I was so tired and couldn't do more rides but when I was waiting for my friend all the cast members (both in costume and out) that walked by made sure that I was ok and feeling included in the magic. There is a fair bit of the park i couldn't get to which I mainly remember it being the swiss family robinson part and I don't think I could get on the river boat. (I was so tired so I can't remember the other bits) My friend is vegetarian and at the time that was actually more difficult to deal with, we ate a lot of alien mochi ice cream. Everyone spoke enough english or had cards to be able to communicate clearly.

Do you have to have the doctors note in Japanese?
to get the extra service yes but not to rent a wheelchair or scooter but they do ask why you need it.
Hello☃️❄️😎🎉

ME TOO!
Is it okay if my feet hurt?
To rent a wheelchair? You aren't asked to prove anything if you want to use a wheelchair, so if you feel you need one then you're able to rent one.
I understand.
I usually speak Japanese.
I was planning to ask him if his
leg was okay.
I made a mistake. sorry.💧
