Not in tune for sure. It's like Yo Yo Ma's cello is out of tune. No instrument should be played out of tune. Period. If one can't tune it, then get some one to tune the damn thing.
I am not sure how much you are familiar with the Iranian music, so I assume at least you are not calling a quarter note "not in tune". And if you are talking about the note you hear at 0:14 (for first time), I think it is delicately deliberate and it goes very well with his singing at 0:53 . It sounds innovative and beautiful to me. Of course you can dislike it :) BTW he surely knows how to tune his instrument as he has tuned all other 30 strings, the way you like it.
I think you are not familiar with Persian music. It is not out of tune, the intervals are different, including quarters nd to western auduience sounds out of tune. You need to get used to this then you feel the emotions of the tunes.
@@manog8713 Listen up, I tune quarter tones for a living. I know what is tuned and not tuned, in Persian music, all the dastgahs. It's out of tune. Some of the strings have gone out of tune and can be heard. The strings also need to be replaced, they sound worn out. When the string of a santur gets worn out, the wire has a flat surface where it's resting on the kharak's sheytanak. Over time and use, the sheytanak flattens the wire and the wire pits the sheytanak. It's lazy to not change strings after six months. The zard wires need to be replaced every six months, if not less, depending on the number of performances and practice sessions. Most santur players don't like to do it, and become lazy, and keep playing with old strings. Both the wires and the sheytanks have to be replaced to stay tuned much longer. I think I know what I am talking about, don't you think?
@@defiverr4697 I think it is because of the low quality of this video, I have heard the high quality version of this music and everything is in place there.
