I love how Majin is so calm. He can lose the first set of rounds, just laugh it off and say some word indicating that he’s amused. Then he comes back at them the next set and just as calmly takes them out. Champ!
Freakin love these characters. On the one hand, King gets you in these brutal locks and body slams you. On the other hand, Yoshi flies around, literally. Goes zipping around with teleports looking like an actual anime protaganist. And on top of that, we're watching two of the kingpins of these characters, and we got 2 hours of this peak gameplay. Hell yeah!

28:01 the chat tripping. "People avoid paul to not be called Meta slaves" not remotely true. I don't know why Paul isn't used in tournys but it definitely isn't to avoid being called meta slaves. There were 6 Leroy in an evo, no one gives a shit about people saying they're meta slave when competing.
I think it is because Yoshimitsu has an insane number of moves. It's impossible to memorize his entire move list. So players end up selecting a smaller subset of moves that match their playstyle. The result is that Yoshimitsu players can have radically different playstyles without using the same moves over and over.

His unconventional fighting style takes a while to get used to. Plus his damage is crap (probably as a way to balance him since he has quite a few unblockables in his kit).
And i thought Yoshi was a menace in 5 (last one i had/played). 7?? In the right(wrong) hands, he's downright demonic! Haven't even seen him in 8 yet, but I'm certainly curious how they've upped his game even further.

I'm using Yoshi but it's bad. It has low damage and combos are hard to execute, compared to other characters.
Yoshi requires twice as much work to get half as much damage as the “normal” roster. And all that work leaves you open for counter hits. Often.
you need 2x or 3x the effort to reach a rank that is possible in normal effort
