Good job, Justin - The adjust Height tool is interesting because it adds a distance to the center of the Profile. So you have Profiles on the top, all of them will be moved accordingly.
Thanks Dave - I'm going to have to dive into this feature a bit further - I just had enough time to do a quick test of it for this video, so hopefully more info to come!
Good point. Proper assembly/profiles set up is a consideration. For wall type assemblies w 3+ profiles affected and possibly plates, crown cornice etc, this would be a great and even critical productivity feature. Definitely something to master. Looking forward to your video on it, Justin.
Justin, I asked you once about this. I downloaded a FoxBlocks skp image. Of course when I want to make a foundation using the blocks, sometimes I need to trim the component from 4' to a random length. Do any of the profile builder tools allow you to trim a component? I might ask the Profile Builder guys too. Thanks. Love your instruction.
Just got PB3 and this video really helped me..! I want to create a concrete block wall showing mortar joints but not sure how to proceed. What would be the profile, and can one block become a component? Thank you in advance... great job!
Hmmm....probably what I'd do is model the repeating block components with the mortar joints as a part of the component, then just repeat the component with Profile Builder - does that make sense?
Justin... Thank you for the reply. When I tried to use the component method alone (Cinder Block) I could propagate standard cinder blocks along the red axis, but could not make it turn 90 deg. correctly. Also, the block would not automatically fit if the wall dimensions are smaller than a standard block... Is this not possible in PB3? I would like to hear your thoughts on a PB3 cinder block wall ... Would make a great tutorial!
thanks for the over view Justin looking forward to the in depth vids on the new functions, I take it that there is no updates to the existing PB, you have to buy a new one?
Hi Wayne - I believe they'll be sending a discount code out later this week to current Profile Builder 2 users for upgrading to Profile Builder 3 per this page - profilebuilder4sketchup.com/faq/ - Not sure exactly when that will be, but I think it's sometime this week. Thanks!
Wow, these are significant improvements to an already impressive extension...thanks for sharing! Does the cut tool work on any group or component, or only assemblies created in PB?
Hi Jacob - I was highly impressed with the number of new features that were added to this extension - lots of new functionality in this version. Thanks!
Super improvements on an already amazing extension. Thanks for the review/preview. Looking forward to the upcoming tutorials! The hole puncher feature and auto assemble are mega improvements as is live profile edit. It just fits the Sketchup ethos of keeping creativity at the fore, not the technicalities of drafting and design. Love it. Do you have a resource for good assemblies we can download? Thanks.
Not really - I think there are some on the Mindsight Studios Website, and you can also search for "Profile Builder" in the 3D warehouse and some assemblies will show up as well. Thanks!
Can “profile builer” be suitable for making glass curtain profiles? My computer reacted very slowly when I was using it while the system was generating it.
Should be great for that. However, if you set it up to generate a lot of geometry, or if you have a really slow computer, it's likely going to take a little while
all the features are awsomeeeeee.!!!!! but why why they split the plugin in two parts the quantefier now is separated? the quantifier is the main reason for a bim plugins... this really sucks :S
Probably because the Quantifier doesn't necessarily need Profile Builder, and some people would be looking just for the Quantifier piece, so now it's available as a stand-alone if that's all you want.
Hi! do you plan on doing a video for basic framing with Profile Builder 3? It seems a bit different with the new update one and I'm having soooo much trouble :(

He did mention how this works in a previous FB post. "For simplicity, it stretches everything using the center of the assembly as a reference"
the base profile was applied inside out @3:45

Jacob Perl works on anything, even non solids

A million thanks. I'm upgrading this week. Keep up the great work!
3.Auto-Assemble: how did you create the vertical profiles along the red axis?
In the case of Auto Assemble, I just modeled them manually based on the spacing I wanted so that Auto-Assemble would pick them up

Any suggestions on how to build a gable wall using profile builder?
Theoretically you could model a full wall, then draw a sloped face and use the trim to face tool...

Nice updates for the extension. Thanks for sharing.

does it work in 2018 sketchup?
Can't remember

Good I like your videos your osm thanks 👍👍👍💖💖
Units only in inches ?
Don't know - I assume if you change the model units the profile builder units change, but I'm not sure
Thx, Man)!
Thanks for watching!
