This type of camera was ALMOST my very first Polaroid! I was shopping for a instant camera in a flea market WAY back in 2016 when I had first caught wind of the impossible project. I saw that camera first but has no idea what it really was (for some reason I thought the One600 was digital, it just looked off to me) but in a booth right next to it was a Sun660 Autofocus and I KNEW what that one was about. I miss when you could pick up one for just $5, that weird impossible project era was the perfect time to grab cameras for NOTHING 😂
Just found one of these at a local camera store sale for $25. Is a pro model with exposure comp, red eye, self timer, hand strap and tripod mount. In basically perfect condition and shooting great pictures. 👍
I think I talked to you about the one600 at FilmNeverDie's i2 launch! I have a grey variant, it's a little different with a light/dark exposure button and a different shell, but essentially the same camera but it struggles to stay open when taking a picture (needs repair). Also picked up the same model in this video and it works flawlessly! Great cameras, you're right in saying they're underrated
I have two of these! One is just the normal one and one is the upgraded one with the tripod mount and brightness control. I havent had tome to test it as it seems to be broken but we shall seeee
Cheers for this video! I have a ONE600 with almost the opposite problem as this one. When I fold it down, my eyepiece doesn’t fully retract. Been looking to see how this camera disassembles for a minute!
Always thought these were just ugly cheapo cameras until I ended up getting one. I soon learned they're perfectly capable, and the lightweight folding design is perfect for just slipping into your cargo pocket and walking.
@@theinstantcameraguythe one600 pro is the one to go for, you have a tripod mount, exposure compensation, red eye removal, self timer, and minimum focus distance of 2 feet. Some models have a minimum focus distance of 1.5 feet but they are rare.
Hah, I actually just got one of these from a friend who was cleaning out an old house. Motor sounds strong and the chassis folds properly, so I have no reason to believe it doesn't work 100% properly. I went and tried to add a modern frog tongue to the door, but sadly I cracked the plastic in the corner of the film eject slot. Hardly noticeable though, and the tongue works as expected. A very interesting and under-rated camera! Also funny that these cameras were probably among the few Polaroids with digital electronics that aren't extremely unreliable... *cough SLR690 cough* I'm tempted to put a pack of film through mine, but I'm not sure about the image quality. How does one of these compare to a Sun 660 Jake? One more camera saved from the garbage dump, nice job!
Very fiddly this one , I can see why people don't fix this if they fail , you can buy one for like 10.00/15.00 and as you say 9 out of 10 work perfectly, I have 2 that I just use for travel as it's easy and compact, and not worried about damage like my sx-70's. Good videos 👍 keep going
I have a One600 camera that doesn't work. It opens and closes fine but sometimes after you press the shutter button it will take the picture can fire The Flash but the motor doesn't run and it's an intermittent problem. I was told the One600s have poor build quality compared to the older models.
You‘re so brilliant. I just bought a camera of the same model. But when I press the shutter button, there's only a brief sound, and no photo is ejected. Do you happen to know why?😢

Back when I started these things were literally worthless
And they still are comparatively! And I got no idea why lol

Sorry I misremembered, it was just the "one" and only had controls for the flash and self timer as you mentioned
I think some of them even had a red eye reduction is this Polaroid has much closer to the lens than normal compared to other Polaroid models.
I just thrifted one of these last week. It's a lovely camera, the best design since the original SX-70. I'm glad to know they're so bulletproof.

Good one, a camera model I've never heard of. Nice one
they are really nice! Especially the 'pro' versions that have extra features!

Yeah I think they are pretty slept on tbh
Even I have barely used one
Kinda wanna track one down now

40:42 Screaming inside "The connector!"
I was so happy to have the thing back together I didn't even think about it 😂
I have one. And I have had a Spectra. It's like this is the more consumer (ie 600 film) version of the Spectra.

fiddly, but at least intuitive to reverse engineer
Never seen one with a broken shutter so far!
What a coincidence, I was looking at a listing for one on the other screen

hmmm. hard to say without seeing it in person
Might be broken beyond repair :(
@@theinstantcameraguy Okay😀Thx anyway. I will continue to follow your videos, they are very helpful.
Being form early 2000s isn't it possible to find service manuals for these models online?
I don't believe I've ever seen one
One might exist, but I'm not aware of it
👏
