After going through a sadness and anger, Hagoromo awakened sharringan from his byakugan, his version of mangekyo sharringan is Rinnegan when he killed Hamura. Uchiha's Mangekyo sharringan is an incomplete form, switching of eyes is necessary to complete the form or (some cases) they need Ashura's cells to get Rinnegan (Replicating Hagoromo). Every dojutsu comes from Otsutsuki clan. Like every Uchiha's MS does different things, every Otsutsuki clan get a different type of Eye from their Byakugan, after going through some stuff. ONLY Hagoromo can get Rinnegan, its his reaction to emotions he felt.
Dayum man, I am also an big fan of "Eyes of God". People love to downgrade rinnegan because sasuke is fodder when he uses it, and when boruto's dojutsus appeared ppl think its over for rinnegan. But I know for fucking sure. This eye, is the strongest.
