The Master of Masters really played the Union leaders for fools. They were so dependent on his guidance that they didn't question being told their roles in secret. The M.o.M. planted little seeds of doubt amongst his students and used the Chirithy Nightmare to really get the ball rolling. As he said in "The Case of Luxu", the Book of Prophecies was proof of Luxu fulfilling his role. Whatever that Keyblade sees will eventually be written into an original "Book of Prophecies" that will be copied and given to the Union leaders, ensuring a sort of temporal loop. The only question worth asking is what does the Master of Masters intend to gain from all this?

The reason was to create vessels strong enough to destroy darkness permanently of which only the Master and Luxu know. To do so he needs strong hearts that can control both light and darkness, like Xehanort. Causing distrust among the Union Leaders while also having the mentality to defy the darkness would make them suitable vessels to trap darkness without succumbing to it, kind of like the mentality Eraqus had. He and his apprentices make 7 so they have to get rid of the weaker four in the Data-Daybreak Town. So far four were defeated by the MC (who died) so all we have is the apprentices left.

It's ironically quite simple, he wants to completely abolish and destroy Darkness.
As a young boy, the Master witnessed the beginning of the Keyblade War and met the 13 Darknesses firsthand. Those Darknesses caused a lot of grief and loss for the Young Master, and he set out to destroy Darkness forever, no matter the cost. A cost that is very extreme.
Darkness has no form to defeat, and the Master decided to literally play 4D Chess as used his Keyblade to peer into the Future. He'd trap the most powerful 7 Darknesses in himself and his 6 apprentices, while simultaneously training his apprentices to be strong enough to quell said Darknesses. The manipulation in Back Cover is the instrument necessary to pull that off. Of the remaining 6, one joined with Ventus' heart and became Vanitus, one enabled Maleficent's return and faced Luxu (and possibly lost it's form and became the general entities of darkness, such as the heartless), while the remaining 4 were locked away in a closed gate that could only be opened by Keyblade Wielders.
The biggest issue the Master faced was the ever growing expansion of darkness. Which is where Quadratum comes into play, a world with neither light nor darkness rules.

I love how intriguing everyone in this is! It's so easy to watch this and have your theories on the traitor's identity repeatedly switch in an instant. As tempting as it is to just see the MOM as the bad guy, I can't forget that the one cutscene in the whole thing where he is _completely_ serious and doesn't make a single humourous comment is when he gives Ava her role. I wish I could work that guy out, but while he's definitely manipulating some things, I don't think he's trying to mastermind the fall of light. He's fun to watch either way.
Believe it or not, but if you're caught up with *Union X,* the popular theory is that it's actually Ava who's the traitor. She fulfills her role, but she still fits the description of the traitor in the lost page, even if she herself is good at heart and trying to do the right thing.

    • @maryscary
      @maryscary 2 года назад +1

I don't see Ava as the traitor becuase even when she went against the Masters instructions about the new head for the Union Leaders, the book and the Keyblade still ended up with the person they were intented for in the end.
And about MoM being so serious about giving her the role to gather Keyblade wielders, that's part of his plan to get rid of darkness. He's asking Ava to only gather the finest wielders because they can withstand darkness and all the ones who weren't strong enough were send out to die because their darkness would be dark stain on MoM's future of light. I think MoM wants to create something like utopia.

The Master of Masters just told them all there was and then gave them all different instructions that would pit them against each other, insuring that the Keyblade War would happen. The most hilarious thing about all this is that the Traitor wasn't even among them. The Master did all this to 1. ensure that the Keyblade War happens by his script and 2. that there is a future after everything settles down so that Avas Dandelions can exist and thrive and Luxu can fulfill the first part of his role which is to observe all events to come while training a worthy apprentice who would wield No Name. Luxu was named the traitor because of what his role entailed. Tbh to get the full KH experience you sadly need to play the mobile games or atleast watch either all cutscenes or an explaination video.

Can we agree that Master of Masters acts like a total sociopath?
As of "X Back Cover" we see him manipulate all of his students:
Foretellers doubt eachother because they trust MoM above all else. They are dependent on him, so the moment he's gone and weird things are starting to happen of course they won't know what to do aside from following their roles, with exception of Gula at the end.
Ira is fit to lead but it's true that he doesn't take action and needs someone like Aced to actually do something. Also Ira knows that the world is doomed either way, still tries to prevent it but doesn't mention that conversation to the others. Probably having something to do with being made a leader and the Master letting him do what he feels is right.
Invi is told to observe the others and be fair, well, what happens instead? Aced couldn't have put it better: "To observe us, yes. But not to disclose everything we say and do to Ira!" She also points accusatory fingers without knowing all the details, saying Aced is a traitor and Ava being suspicious with gathering talented Keyblade wielders.
Aced is hot-headed but is good at heart. He would be a great motivator to make Ira actually take action instead of looking at the Book all day but MoM used Aced's selfish want (being a leader) to make it all go sideways. "You will be Ira's righthand-man but the moment you think "He's terrible at this!", you are free to try and take leadership.". Also naming it "the most important" and "true" role? It's almost like it was all planned by someone... Oh wait...
Gula (someone who clearly thinks he's smart) is given a mission to find the traitor and the only clue he has is some ambiguous words that could mean anything while also trying to act normal. Adding to that, he and Ava are probably the youngest of all Foretellers making it an absolute disaster at the end where Gula has no idea what to do after being beat up by Aced who calls him out for hiding everything from everyone and shaking his resolve in thinking if he really was the traitor.
Ava... the only one who got a role with MoM being completely serious. That screams "This is important" even without "You're the only person for this." line. Do you see what I'm getting at here? Also, "Don't get involved in any fights."... Yeah, rasing your Keyblade against one of your friends without knowing all the details it totally what that line meant... Yes, I'm calling you out Ava fans.
TL;DR: Master of Masters used his students and their insecurities to set all this up to make a perfect storm for Keyblade War to happen and none questioned him because they were too dependent on him and trusted him above all else. That's why every Foreteller (yes, even Ava) looks like an idiot.
PS. I just have to mention it: Aced fought three Foretellers at once, got away somehow beaten up and still defeated Gula. This man is a beast and, in my eyes, the strongest of them all.

@@christianschoff2490 Which was to stop darkness permanently and ensure that light survives. He did horrible things yes but keep in mind that he cannot control the future, only predict it. He’s trying to make sure that the prophecy doesn’t wipe everything completely out. Is it desperate? Yes. Immoral? Definitely. Though I can only see him as a morally ambiguous character rather than a hero or villain. While he definitely held secrets from the others the plan wouldn’t have worked if he told them. He gave them their tasks and told them to carry them out. I don’t agree with his methods and definitely believe he caused a lot of crimes but he is also going out of his way to stop it from happening again. It’s a messed up situation with a messier solution.
