To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

A tip, when putting the buds/buds plus on, use your right hand over head to pull the tip of your left ear up slightly(left hand for right) , idk why, but for me doing that cause them to seal and fit immediately, and they stay that way until I take them out again, otherwise sometimes they will move outward slightly and I'll have to readjust them.
The Buds+ are a fantastic tool. As a sound enjoyment ear phone.. I think you can do better. But as a daily tool for business calls, meetings, casual listening, streaming, etc., they're incredible. They're very comfortable with very good passive noise cancelling (if you swap to a nice pair of silicone buds). They're quick to connect too. The pairing is effortless as well, I'm using them between two phones (a Galaxy s10 and an iPhone 8) and two PCs. Swapping back and forth between everything is fairly instant with no fighting. The mics are excellent. I come through clear on calls and the passthrough works extremely well (I recommend low to mid, high can be harsh). The app gives you decent EQ options, I prefer dynamic for music and clear for videos. They're not the loudest device but they're also not too low. 6-9% more volume is all they'd need. I think they're absolutely worth the purchase if you need something for calls and want all day comfort with solid connectivity. The sound is good, but buying them just for music? Hard sell. Also for streaming playback (RUclips) they lag sometimes. I don't notice it on mobile as much as on my PCs, so it could be a Windows thing. Also be advised if you swap on custom buds the case might not close completely and the buds may not charge. The case could have been a bit more substantial or at least come with a clasp to alleviate the issue. Still, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND quality ear tips as I find it improves the sound greatly. I'm using silicone tips with a thicker/firmer inner tube. I find I get less sound bleed when using better silicone buds than foam or the stock tips. Better comfort as well as the buds sit a bit further into my ear creating a better seal while feeling more secure. Solid review my man, I think you nailed all the key aspects. They're a great form factor with solid sound and astounding battery life. I think it's a no brainer for anyone with a Galaxy, they do everything very well. How reliable is the Google Assistant while attempting to use it from the Samsung buds plus on non-Galaxy Android devices? I'd be using the Buds + on a Pixel 3a but there really isn't much info available online sadly.
The Sound is ok and a little bit better and clearer than my fake airpods (tws I1000), although this has way more basse than the B+. It also does not fit well in my ears. I have changed the tips and all, but it still does not feel as comfortable as my airpdos. They also hurt my ears and fall out easily, any tipps?😮😕
The tap edge for volume is AMAZING lol, if you turn it on then all you have to do is tap twice anywhere on your ear to adjust it, two taps on the left ear is volume down then two taps on the right ear is volume up. Everyone should try it, I'm sure most will fall in love with the feature
(in earbud terms) Can someone explain to me how WIRED sounds better than WIRELESS. If you use the same driver, and use a high quality codec like aptX or LDAC, than they will sound basically the same. You might get more volume, due to a better amp, but that's it. Correct me if I'm wrong
Afaik when you're only listening to music via streaming services like spotify it wont matter too much. But bluetooth connection still compress the music no matter what the codec is. It cant deliver hi-res uncompressed music like flac of wav. Although it wont matter if you use spotify for example since it maxed out at mp3 320kbps at max res. So if you have a tons of flac music collections wired will still deliver the best sound quality at the maximum bitrate without any compression Sorry for my bad english
@@nathans5843 TIDAL can deliver 16bit high res audio. Almost nobody can tell the difference between 24 and 16 bits no matter how good of an audiophile you are. And I'm not sure if Bluetooth exactly "compresses" audio automatically. BT 5 and 5.1 should offer native support for high res codecs
Not just the compression, it also about which DAC is used. Using wired earphone means you use player's DAC while using TWS means you use earbud built-in DAC since the source just transmit the data. AFAIK, for the same price, TWS must allocate its cost on the driver, DAC, battery, case, and etc. While wired earphones can focus allocate its cost just on the driver. I might be wrong, but that is why wired earphone can sound better because you use better DAC on your source and better driver on your earphone.
I'll start by saying that these are generalizations, and I've never made a headphone so it could be somewhat divorced from reality. But my understanding... The obvious technical explanation is that there's less transcoding and compression involved with a wire. With a wired earphone, the chain of components goes... Music file > internal DAC > internal amplifier > analog wire > speaker Given you start with a lossless file, there's no lossy compression -- the DAC gets 100% of the original music info. You can also control for the quality of the DAC and amplifier. With a Bluetooth set, the chain goes... Music file > transcoded to Bluetooth codec > beamed to headphone > headphone decodes Bluetooth > headphone DAC > headphone amplifier > speaker So even if the Bluetooth codec operates at a bitrate equal to (or greater than) the bitrate of your music file, it's not directly beaming your music file -- it has to transcode your music file to a Bluetooth codec, and that transcode process is lossy. So even if you start with a lossless file, you get lossy on the other end. And if you start with a lossy file, you get double lossy compression, so now it's double lossy. Additionally, you have to use the DAC and amplifier that's built into the headphone, and they're built for battery life and reducing latency and I suspect there are some compromises there.
@@SuperReview I suppose you are right, but then you need to bring in perceivable difference If I use the same driver on both the wired and wireless version and play a lossless wav files on the wired and TIDAL on the wireless, the difference is pretty imperceivable. Maybe not to you, but at least to a quite a few people. To me Spotify Premium sounds pretty good, ive only listened to one or two TIDAL songs on a friends phone. TIDALs sounded a bit better, In a way I can't explain. Either way, even if wired sounds technically better, it almost doesn't matter, cause almost nobody could tell the difference. You could possibly do a blind earbud test, find an earphone with a similar driver to it's wired counterparts
How can i decrease the sensitivity of the touchpad from the galaxy buds? Im always clicking on the the touchpad and trigger the touch controls when im putting them in
If you don't have a Samsung phone or an iPhone it's really important to switch from SBC to AAC. The default SBC codec has a lot of audible distortion. Samsung phones use a propietary, higher quality codec with these earbuds, and iPhones use the AAC codec by default. But other android phones have that SBC codec by default. I ended returning these earbuds because I only could use the SBC codec on Windows.
First off you can have two long touch controls. For me I have long press on my right activate voice command and left toggles ambient mode. Second, double tap always skips to next track no matter which side you do it on. Previous track is triple tap on either side. Side note, double tap on edge to control volume works better if you double tap the top of your ear. You have to double tap your ear a little hard though.
For me, tapping the back of my ear lobe works well to activate the volume control. I wish I could disable all single-tap controls and move them to double-tap.
I notice that often darker colored earphones tend te have better grip on the silicon earpadding so that they won't fall out that quickly. What's is the situation with the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus. Do all colors have the same material? Because I want the white ones but if the black ones sit better in my ears I'll get those.
I got the 13 Pro Max in Sierra blue so that’s why I’m contemplating on getting these since they are the same colour but dose anyone have any tips since I’m on iPhone.
I personally much prefer the sound of the Galaxy Buds. I have both. The Bose are a bit boomy and imaging is weak. Galaxy Buds have better tuning IMO and better control.

How do these compare to wired earbuds, I mean how much would you say you would have to spend on wired earbuds or IEMs to get sound quality you prefer to these, or is it comparable to wired earbuds in it's price range?
I prefer this sound to IE40 Pro and Shure SE215. Dunno about other Shures. IE40 Pro probably better resolution if it's important, e.g. you're monitoring, but I think Galaxy Buds better for music.
Can someone please answer this. I orders these on amazon and it said "amazon choice". I checked and the box and boxes look fake. The buds and the case look real tho
I am curious to know what would be the total life of these Buds plus, considering batteries eventually wear out and the charge holding capacity reduces/dies out?
@@SuperReview alright I would rephrase. For any electronic device, theres a life of batteries, after which they die out, and need to be replaced. So in this case, I wanted to know how many years would the battery on them last?
It's lithium ion, so (a) will depend on your charging habits, (b) will depend on how often you use them, (c) will depend on variables in manufacturing you can't really predict, (d) will require some years for real data, which will likely (e) result in a variable range of expected life. IMO, assume it'll follow the same pattern as any other rechargeable battery.
@@SuperReview I too feel the same. TWS is the new buzz in the market. We don't really know how would these perform down the years. Anyways thanx for the reply 👍
Would you like to do reviews on Soundcore liberty 2 pro and Jabra elite 75 in the future? I recently got my Soundcore. The sound is absolutely fantastic but one downside is no ambient or transparency mode.
Probably because it seemed more like you praised the airpods more than anything. Like a political ad, they tell you everything bad about the one(buds +) then praise themselves(airpods)
Thorough and enjoyable review, as always. But I really don't understand your grading system! You give the Buds+ 4* and the Dudios 5*? How? Why? Because of accidental trigger pulls when inserting? These things, you say, have Airpods SQ, 11 hrs, an app, passthrough, ....
Thanks Bob. Price factors into my expectations -- at $30 for Dudios, my expectations are less... and TBH, the touch controls are pretty annoying. The battery life is super awesome, but probably means more for some people than it does for me -- I've literally never run a TWS earbud dead, except one of those AirPod knockoffs that died before my podcast finished once 😭
@@SuperReview Got it. Thanks. A humble suggestion: maybe mention that you grade on the curve! ;) And/or do an explainer video. Don't get me wrong, I consider your description to be much more important than your grade. But I feel dissonance when I hear a 90%+ review and then see a 4. And others may jump to the grade first.... * Again, I get a lot out of your reviews - which is why I'm expending so many words in commentary!
I bought galaxy buds plus last week, but during the tests I realized something wrong. They are emitting a annoying noise when I listen to some musics on spotify.
@@SuperReview I can not explain exactly. It sounds like that speaker are vibrating unreasonably and that bothers me when I am listening to music that has too much bass.

I had just ordered some, watching more reviews to make me feel better about ordering them. So when you take them out and put them in the case, don't they stop playing?
It's not disappointing to give the permissions (which all pop and you just have to click the boxes by the way). It's the way to give a person full choice over what access they give to a device accessing their phone/tablet. What choice does Apple and the iPods give the user? Thanks for the video, much appreciated.
@@SuperReview Am guessing 'FWIW' is 'for what it's worth'? We don't have such a crazy habit of abbreviation here in England but alas it is slowly growing. I can't speak for the buds exactly as I have never owned them but mine have been sent out and I await eagerly (your review helped a little by the way). I must admit, I didn't even see the name of your channel, RUclips was just free styling as I went about my life but I upon hearing you in my Bluetooth buds I did come back to you to pay attention to watch properly. You struck me as an Apple acolyte and yet you seemed to be giving an Android product a fairly positive review, this is not often heard or seen and had to be watched. As regards the permissions. Wether they have to be agreed to to enable a product to work or not, I would always want to know what permissions I am giving away. Most of the time certain permissions can be denied to new hardware or software but the full capability of the product may not be reached and to have this choice for the sake of 20 seconds of well presented pop up boxes popping when installing and giving if not choice then at least information is not a chore surely? Lol. Anyway. Thanks for the honest review and your presentation is excellent. Take care and go easy my American cus.
Actually, the experimental feature, you can change the volume by just tapping your cartilage of your ear twice And it works most of the time for me. i love this feature so much.❤️
@@SuperReview Its based on an accelerometer in the buds. At least from what I understand anyways. So tapping on the ear, causes the bud to move, which is detected for the action you are trying to do. In this case, volume going up and down.
Having used both the Galaxy Buds and the Galaxy Buds plus, I prefer the sound of the first ones. It is more treble forward, and bass is less emphasized

Nice review and completely agree with you at 17:24 about how some tonalities like having more sub bass make the music more engaging and enjoyable. I find that at low listening volumes especially more bass is needed than some 'officially' neutral level for music to be perceived with the right level of energy. Maybe check out Bart at scarbir.com who has rated over 100 TWS earbuds and some more affordable sub $25 that are really good sound wise nowadays and allow 2+ hours listening on a charge which is probably fine for many people..I've compared a few cheap but good sounding like the Haylou GT1 Plus on my blog gichow.com and be great to get your view on them.

Wish they were optional permissions, like when I enable a function that requires that permission... ask me then. Don't ask me for all of them before I even know what the app does.
tbh I don't see any issues giving these permissions, you buy the earbuds exactly to have those informations getting to your ear, but I do think those should be optional.
I was about to buy the Sony WF-1000XM3 but these look so much better... I’m not really sure I need noise cancellation really. I use iOS but I’m not too crazy about the AirPods pro.

How reliable is the Google Assistant while attempting to use it from the Samsung buds plus on non-Galaxy Android devices? I'd be using the Buds + on a Pixel 3a but there really isn't much info available online sadly.
Not sure, I don't use Assistant.
Might not fit yuo.
Hi, I you ready check if you notice difference when you change the codec of galaxy s10e to Samsung scalable codec with the Galaxy buds plus?
The tap edge for volume is AMAZING lol, if you turn it on then all you have to do is tap twice anywhere on your ear to adjust it, two taps on the left ear is volume down then two taps on the right ear is volume up. Everyone should try it, I'm sure most will fall in love with the feature
What happens to track skipping?
@@SuperReview still works perfectly if you tap the actual bud, does not effect it at all
(in earbud terms) Can someone explain to me how WIRED sounds better than WIRELESS.
So if you have a tons of flac music collections wired will still deliver the best sound quality at the maximum bitrate without any compression
Sorry for my bad english
Music file > internal DAC > internal amplifier > analog wire > speaker
Given you start with a lossless file, there's no lossy compression -- the DAC gets 100% of the original music info. You can also control for the quality of the DAC and amplifier.
With a Bluetooth set, the chain goes...
Music file > transcoded to Bluetooth codec > beamed to headphone > headphone decodes Bluetooth > headphone DAC > headphone amplifier > speaker
So even if the Bluetooth codec operates at a bitrate equal to (or greater than) the bitrate of your music file, it's not directly beaming your music file -- it has to transcode your music file to a Bluetooth codec, and that transcode process is lossy.
@@SuperReview I suppose you are right, but then you need to bring in perceivable difference
If I use the same driver on both the wired and wireless version and play a lossless wav files on the wired and TIDAL on the wireless, the difference is pretty imperceivable.
You could possibly do a blind earbud test, find an earphone with a similar driver to it's wired counterparts
its kinda weird where i live that the white buds plus is around $100 but the other color is full price $150
That is weird.
How can i decrease the sensitivity of the touchpad from the galaxy buds? Im always clicking on the the touchpad and trigger the touch controls when im putting them in
I wish I knew.
I think it defaults to AAC on my Xperia.
Nice review!
Thanks mang 👍
I just got the Galaxy plus buds in Australia and I love them. I would have got the airpods pro but I just can't get used to the look in your ear
Buds+ are quite nice -- if Samsung ever gives the option to replace single-taps with double-taps I think they'll be just about perfect.
How is the magnet when i shake it bit harder they comes out and also they moves in holes
Sorry, I've only used the blue ones.
I have seen the graph of these on crinacle website and they looked really similar to the moondrop starfield. How do the compare to each other?
Starfield has a bit more zing up top and better tonality through vocals, but they are more similar than different.

How do they sound vs over hear headset like bose 700? I am asking as I cannot try them.
I personally much prefer the sound of the Galaxy Buds. I have both. The Bose are a bit boomy and imaging is weak. Galaxy Buds have better tuning IMO and better control.
@@SuperReview tried bose 700 today at the store, they sound very bad, worse than I could imagine. I will go with samsung earbuds plus since I really want wireless. Thanks. I just cannot believe there are so youtubers recommending them. It is nonsense

How do these compare to wired earbuds, I mean how much would you say you would have to spend on wired earbuds or IEMs to get sound quality you prefer to these, or is it comparable to wired earbuds in it's price range?
Hey, how do these do paired or connected to multiple devices? Like, say... your phone and your Android dap? TIA!
I don't believe they support multi-point pairing, but TBH I didn't try.
@@SuperReview or...you could have tried before replying.
How is the sound stage with these? Also please check lypertek tevi as they are getting praised for there sound quality
Average for an IEM.
How do they sound compared to IE40 Pro and SHURE? :) better ? worse ?
I prefer this sound to IE40 Pro and Shure SE215. Dunno about other Shures. IE40 Pro probably better resolution if it's important, e.g. you're monitoring, but I think Galaxy Buds better for music.

I haven't tried it, but I would be shocked if it didn't.
@@SuperReview thank you for your response! It is 30 dollars less than the US version, so was just wondering.
I am curious to know what would be the total life of these Buds plus, considering batteries eventually wear out and the charge holding capacity reduces/dies out?
Not sure I understand the question.
I felt like I was watching an Airpods Pro review...
Why did you feel that?
Probably because it seemed more like you praised the airpods more than anything. Like a political ad, they tell you everything bad about the one(buds +) then praise themselves(airpods)
I felt the same
@@iantieman5724 I felt the same
Yea definitely noticed that
Thorough and enjoyable review, as always.

Interesting. I just tested Spotify on my Xperia 10, no similar issue I can detect. Which song you listening to?
@@SuperReview I can not explain exactly. It sounds like that speaker are vibrating unreasonably and that bothers me when I am listening to music that has too much bass.

Not that I know of.
There’s an option to play sounds to find them from the app when they’re out of the case
Hey man, so would you rate your experience with the airpods pro on android better or worse than with the buds. Sorry I was a bit confused. Thanks

Impossibly broad question homie.
SHould I get galaxy buds plus or Jabra 75t?
I haven't tried the Jabras.
I just got my Buds+. I also have Realme Buds Air 2. For sound quality I prefer Realme Air 2 as it has more bass and sound is more punchy. Buds+ excels in battery life.
How you compare Zeus Ace sound vs Samsung buds+?
Buds+ are generally a much cleaner sound. If Zeus Ace cost $150, I'd have more complaints about their sound.
Did you get them free or are the paying you, because I bought a pair and the sound was crap.I have returned then, I don't like wasting money
LOL, no, I paid for these. When you say "sound was crap," can you elaborate?
I had just ordered some, watching more reviews to make me feel better about ordering them. So when you take them out and put them in the case, don't they stop playing?
They stop playing once they're in the case. But they don't stop playing when they're out of your ear but still in your hand.
It's not disappointing to give the permissions (which all pop and you just have to click the boxes by the way). It's the way to give a person full choice over what access they give to a device accessing their phone/tablet. What choice does Apple and the iPods give the user? Thanks for the video, much appreciated.
The app would not function until I enabled all of the permissions, FWIW. AirPods do not request any permissions on Android.
