I went to Rookgaard and got had a go at the original tutorial. And I loved it. Thanks for the crazy amount of support from the Tibia community. You guys are amazing. ruclips.net/video/YIs26FpbMpM/видео.html
WIsh you could have seen it in 03-04... Heart wrenching deaths, making your hands literally shake with fear of dying in the game. It was intense, and there was nothing, and has never been anything since like it at all
It's not the same game because people are not the same anymore and most of the changes were made for the better I would say. It's way more enjoyable from pure gameplay point of view, but the community is not the same as it used to be. This is the thing in almost every MMO out there - we live in different era of the internet compared to 2004-2009
@@Theadalas i dont know if its more enjoyable, i used to play because i loved war and pvp. But since they started loosing money/players because of people getting hunted or kicked of the server, they added all these bs of world transfer, party hunt, and made it a game for nerds who just want to say 'Im LeVeL 1000'. But none of them knows how to push or pvp.. i came back after years, rushed a MS to level 200 just to see what pvp has became.. and left the game instantly. Lol
Are you still playing? I used to be a RuneScape player from 04 till now. Playing religiously every day, until about 10 years ago. Really want to get into a new game.
You can say "deposit all" to the NPC to deposit everything; You can use wasd to walk using the "Chat Off" and to walk diagonally use qezc. If you're from the arrow gang you need to use the numpad to walk diagonally (or click); Using Ctrl+Diferention shifts you character to that side; Sound is coming to the game on 2022 following their announcement on the 25 years video. Really cool seeing someone learning the game I have been playing for years. I would love to see a series where you explore the game, there are so much lore that is undiscovered or don't exist (most probably) take a look at the mysteries of this game it is awesome. This game shines on toxicity, the notion that a group of players can dominate a world and make it theirs, power abusing whoever goes against them. You're free to do whatever you want and going against a group or player or making a group yourself to grown in it is part of it.
Diagonal being possible is excellent, thank you. I look forward to hearing the sound design too. I guess it'll have to be something quite special after a 25 year wait. Thanks for taking the time to watch and help me out! I apologise in advance for my slow content cycle but I am by no means finished with Tibia yet!
Definitely play it longer before giving a review a lot of things you said you was sad about, we’re thing that just you didn’t know how to do it, the game has been out for a while, and it is grinding levels, but the fun in it is the quests, playing with people to do hunts find a friend, I’ve come back to the game over and over and over, and sometimes friends still play or just make new ones make a new character and start all over, something you can’t ever experience again, get to level 100 and find out the fastest way to get there is so much fun, all classes and different spells takes time and you get immerse, the cities and the world is huge, and even walking from one to one, is an adventure if you don’t know where or what to do. Only negative aspect about the game, is the difference between free to play, and becoming a premium, and to me and for many premium is the only way to play. So if you don’t pay your 30 days premium shouldn’t be playing at all, and if you don’t like to spend on a game tibia is not for you, you don’t pay for “accessories, or items, money, or what not” but just the fact that you get access to a lot of new areas, spells that without premium you can’t use, offline training for skills and simple things that if you are not paying, why are you even playing. But about $10 a month isn’t too much sometimes it makes it better that a game that’s been active this long, that you can leave it and come back, paying a month play for that month and then leave and eventually wanting to come back pay another month makes you or “me” not get addicted 😅you know you got a couple of days left so you do what you can and then leave. And know that your things are store saved for whenever you want to come back and grind again, Ofcourse when you find the guts to come back, don’t forget to pay premium to have fun again for about another 30 days, it’s made the game last long enough
I would love to see more tibia! I just love to see someone that knows nothing about the game exploring it. Feels like i'm thirteen again and I can live it again. Bring up some good memories. thanks!
I'll try my best to not dissapoint. But the wait mught be a little long for some people. I'm covering too many games when I consider how much time I have to both play them and make videos about them!
@@PeteSmells Yeah, man. Take your time.. there’s no rush! Your content is good overall. When more tibia comes, it comes. If make sense for your numbers and public to do so, of course.
Hey Pete! Tibia classic soundtracks are Linkin Park, The Offspring, and stuff like that… Bro, you sent me back in time right now… Wow, the memories… Tibia is a very nice game, very unique on it playstyle, hope you enjoy it! Subscribed!
I played a few weeks worth of Tibia when I was much younger... I just got back into it recently and I'm really glad to have found some English content! I hope you post about Tibia again, there is a lot to learn and the wiki isn't always 100% helpful but... discovery and exploration of this world and its systems is quite rewarding and fun. I'm only up to level 47 and I'm having increasingly more fun!
About 2:55, you can turn around to direct your spell using ctrl + arrow keys (or wasd)... and about 3:38, you can move in diagonals using the combination of arrow keys, with your numpad or even with (q, e, z, c)
@@PeteSmells yeah, it's a bit of a trial and error type deal to figure out that stuff haha. I came back 2 years ago after not having touched the game since 2003. Accidentally found out about diagonal movement when I was trying to type out numbers using my numpad but had the numkeys off
as someone who played this in 2002, and then sporadically ever since. I love this. Please continue evaluating tibia, I feel it would be some great content and I'd love to watch your adventures
Wow this is awesome! I really enjoyed seeing this video. I have been playing this game since 2004 and watching your video gave me some nostalgia. I see in the comments they already told you about deposit all and how to move diagonally. Another tip would be when talking to npc you will notices words are in different blue color. You can click those words without having to type them. Definitely a time saver! My two cents of why I always keep coming back to tibia is that it really does feel like a virtual breathing world. There is even a market with economy! Haha so you can even try stock trading with tibia. Please continue these videos! Would love to continue to see you going through the world.
I've been playing Tibia since 2005. It has at times consumed my life. I'm in my mid thirties now and still enjoy it. Really cool to see people are still jumping in on it. Hope you have fun playing.
So cool to see someone with an entirely new perspective trying out this game. I have been playing it on and off for almost 20 years now, it's a very fun game, specially if you like grindy games.
Its great to see this from a new player's perspective. A few tips: you can move diagonally with your numeric keyboard, also press control + arroy to turn. This has a soundtrack noe btw
Tibia's player get old, but not smarter... BECAUSE they were locked in Tibia and basically playing no other MMO, they can't understand the "end game" part of a MMO. It CAN'T took a whole year to you to get level 100 and reach the end game where you would do Demon Helmet & Anihilator's quest and then be locked to Dragon's Lair, Dwarves Hell, Orc Fortress or Deep Fergula(?)(where the fuck Morgaroth spaws) to the eternity(Since there is no level cap) also these places could be easily acessed from level 70 or so. NOW there are places for level 500, level 1000 and place where a Level 2k can't survive for their ones... Unlike when a Druid 450 could survive the hardest place by his own, basically killing a demon in few hits(less than 8) while blocking them, because he was too strong for anything the game had to offer 350 levels plus doing the end game stuff. The End Game goes Up, easier the game get... So people won't have to play for 20 years to reach it, Just because the game is 20 years old. It's not that hard to figure out, if you ever played anything else.
Just because the stuff that was hard 15 years ago is easy now doesn't mean the current endgame stuff is easy. Go ahead, try soulwar, see how easy it is. People think that because lvl 100 is done in 1 day it means the game is easy, no the goal post has moved in the years.
Game starts to be fun at lvl 100.. and when u reach that.. u notice that fun starts at lvl 200.. and when u reach that.. same goes on.. u get better and stronger and cooler.. thats why this game has kept me since 1998
The offline training thing is used by some statues in some(?) towns. You log off after using them and they do (thing). Been months since I played, and I received serious handholding, to the point of being told what to click on while I was streaming it.
I love this part where you have to learn a lot of things and after a while you become a full experienced player, it's so fun and satisfying. This are the best games to play. Hail Tibia forever!
This was huge in Mexico there were wars against Poland guilds,i got so many memories, back in the early 2000´s was very common watching kids on internet cafe spend all day playing this even if the game was never on spanish, funny story; a friend of mine lose a girlfriend there cuz the girl use to play with some dude there and little by little they hoockup, my friend ask me to lv up one character to get back his girl but never got her back XD
8.6 best version hands down. I know a lot of 7.4 guys prob gonna come after me, but imo 8.6 was the golden mix of QOL+PVP rules+ hardcore. Now its much more restrictive in pvp, hot bars, a ton of "QOL" that i think actually take away from the game, and not much content has been added in all of these years tbh.
This is an amazing game, you should visit Rookgaard in the tutorial area, it's a relic of the old times when you wouldn't leave that area for days, just to get to level 8. Those were the good ol' days. And you should visit the Thais city too and be a resident there, that city will offer you one of the best experiences that this game has to offer. Tibia has a very very rich lore, in fact is one of its strongest things, also it still has mysteries that haven't been solved for more than 20 years check: Serpentine Tower quest, Bonelord Language (469), Sword of Fury in Rookgaard, etc.
pretty interesting to see the perspective of someone new lol, I started the game a long time ago around 2006 and play it very casually now, just for the nostalgia, I do easy hunting and looting just to pass the time
I still remember that my curiosity (and lots of other players) got me killed on several occasions. Roam PoH as a low level when suddenly a giant spider ran and one hit you. Then it was back to rotworms and leveling a single level for 8 hours lol
Played almosy at the beginning in the 90s all the way till the mid 00s. So much has changed and IMO not for the best. Crazy to see all the high levels. Back in the day 100 was improbable, Arieswar was the char back in the day. And then randomly Bubbles, seemed like it was a family/friend group that played that char 24/7
This was a good and honest review of Tibia, i've played on and off since 2002, i think. In recent years i've been more serius with the game and i abselutly love this game. I'm currently at level 753 while typing this. Thanks for spreading the word of Tibia and hope to see more new players start and maybe some old return to the game.
You actually can turn-in-place by holding control. You can also bind keys to go diagonal, but there is a janky pause that happens. This is to prevent diagonal from being more efficient for long term travel
HOLY SHIT, how did you find tibia? :O it's like a major game in my country, I used to love it so much, but sadly it's a huge bummer nowadays. After the Video: Ahh I'm so glad you enjoyed it, if I were you, you should try the OG starter area, it is just SO WELL constructed non intrusive and just a grand time, it's like tutorial island and lumbridge for runescape it feels nostalgic even if you never went there. Once you get a new character to the class trying area, you can talk to an NPC and ask about "Rookgaard" it's amazing its a little treasure of a long lost era, lookup on the wiki I hope you enjoy it if you decide to go there.
@@PeteSmells Awww that's so nice, I'm pretty happy you enjoyed it, I still have many great memories of this game, check out the edit in my comment and the island of Rookgaard, It's a very different experience, but one you might like since you enjoyed OldSchool Runescape before.
It was always most popular in Brazil, Poland and Sweden. Where are u from? I used to play 15 years ago too, 112 ED gotten in like 3 years lol, now you can get lvl 100 in 4 hours. I came back during lockdown, had some fun and gathered with old friends but you get bored and burnt out quickly… something that 15 years ago was absolutely impossible to happen haha. Omg exping two days to get like level 67 from 66 and then die due to lag when you were at like 2% to hit it 🤣🤣🤣 …but still, you gonna say “I’m done with this &£&@ %^**%€^ ^%^€ and ^%*$$ $¥€*%%*$€* !!!🤬” and 45min laters you find yourself on the spot again meanwhile txting all your friends what just happen 😭 obviously txting in the GAME, there was no whatsapps or instagrams and every single mobile txt message actually costed money. Sometimes your internet ( cos it used to be extremely unsteady and laggy 15 years ago, everyone was on like 100 ping lol ) kicked off and you couldn’t log in so you was calling your friend to log in and get your backpack out of your corpses lmaaoooo I smashed my desk top once cos I hit the keyboard so hard 😂 Ahh good old days.
I’m sure somebody already mentioned it but you can hold the Control button on your keyboard then hit an arrow key to turn your character to face a specific direction for spell casting. You can also lock your numlock and use those numbers to move diagonal and normal
Boy oh boy would I love to accompany you with exploring he game chit chatting and watching you learn stuff and progressively teaching you basics of mechanics and showing you how to customize the game to your liking and to be more convenient and fit your style xD amazing game, the best IMO. Playing since 2004, there are breaks, but there is no quitting. Hope you will give the game a proper shot.
Hold Ctrl and press a direction key. That changes your facing direction. Also, use your number pad with numlock off. Then you can move in any direction, even diagonally.
I first found this game 2002ish. Just started up again and have nostalgia equivalent to pokemon. Also, you can combo wand+spells and rotate character by holding either shift or ctrl and pressing the direction. Diagonal movement is used with q,e,z,and c. or the NUM pad
you can move diagonally by using numpad and you can change direction you are facing without walking by holding uh... I think its control, could be alt, and then your arrow keys to face that direction.
at 4:00 you can actually change the attack mode on the top right mark on the screen which will boost your knight and paladin attacks. The default is that yellow-ish small sword with a small shield icon but if you click on the one on top of it you can actually enter full attack mode, which is the only mode needed to play the game at all
Ahahah cute, I wish we could see more newcomers to tibia these days... nice job and, by the way, you CAN move diagonally in tibia, either through your numeral pad, pushing your character with your mouse or setting your hotkey wherever your want ;)
Great to see someone new get into this game, I can give you two tips, 1: you can "deposit all" your money by saying that, and 2: there is something good about not having a soundtrack, and that is you can play a podcast or your favourite music in the background. Hope u keep enjoying this awesome game!
The thing I miss most about tibia is how easy it was to create your own private server and how easy it was to rework the game. I remember creating my owner servers when I was like 12.
Hi! Lifelong tibian here; we have sound now! Also diagnal movement and moving the direction your character are facing is ez and comfy! Maybe an update video? 1 year on? :D
when tibia was at its peak i was a baby, so my curiosity about it sparked many years later. wanted to know if its worth it to played in 2023. amazing video!!
In the first 2 minutes there two things you have mentioned to not be possible or there while it is possible or there. If you want to e.q. shoot a wave in a certain direction, you can press ctrl + arrow key to change direction. If you want to step diagonally, you simply need a numpad and turn off the num lock. Then you can walk diagonally. So those are 2 things less to be bugged about :)
Tryout New World. It released almost a year ago and many people quit the game due to the game being unfinished. The game has gotten a lot better in my opinion, but it would be fun to experience it for a new player, through you. A update in the near future about you Old School RuneScape journey would be appreciated
You can change direction by holding ctrl and pressing the direction you wanna face bro.. you don’t need to move. Played this back in 2004, not what it use to be. Still a great game tho
I've been playing since 03. I quit RL Tibia when it became overwhelmingly pay to win. I now set up my own OT Tibia server and it's the best for me and my friends play style
I havent played this game in nearly 2 Decades, but even I can remember, with the rose tinted glasses, how disgustingly annoying it was to start learning the intricacies of this game with the badly explained messages. This video was truly so open minded, understanding and well-spoken, that im wondering if you're a paid actor! A bit off topic. I search updates about Tibia as a traditional yearly basis, and I have to admit, the game is an amazing case-study on how a small game community can stay alive for so many years and be so dedicated, simply because the same Game Devs that have been since the start, are STILL updating the game with new stuff every so often (even if its horrendous patches with funny fails), it really has a charm not easy to find
Hey Pete! I'm glad I found your channel, it's been a pleasure following you along this journey. Were you planning on creating another Old School Runescape video?
I am indeed planning more Runescape stuff. Unfortunately it's going to take a but of time to put out since I'm heavily restricted on play time, nevermind production time! But as I hit certain milestones I'll be posting updates and thoughts.

Tibia has a very very rich lore, in fact is one of its strongest things, also it still has mysteries that haven't been solved for more than 20 years check: Serpentine Tower quest, Bonelord Language (469), Sword of Fury in Rookgaard, etc.
u can move diagonal with the bloq nums command using 7-9-1-3 numbers
i back to play in christmas 2023,after like 10y .... MAN!! tibia is like 9999x bigger game then 10y ago, a lot things to enjoy!!!
please keep going, we need a good youtuber for tibia :D
Ah, you should probably ask a good RUclipsr then :P
pretty interesting to see the perspective of someone new lol, I started the game a long time ago around 2006 and play it very casually now, just for the nostalgia, I do easy hunting and looting just to pass the time
Do you recommend old school runescape or tibia if you want to waste the rest of your life on the game?
I heard "second monitor" and knew the words "Josh Strife Hayes" were coming up next. Thanks for not disappointing. You seem like first monitor content
I'll be sure to disappoint in other areas instead
Soundtrack + Ingame Sounds got added past month !
I still remember that my curiosity (and lots of other players) got me killed on several occasions. Roam PoH as a low level when suddenly a giant spider ran and one hit you. Then it was back to rotworms and leveling a single level for 8 hours lol
20 years I plaied this game…
That must be the best thing i've seen in years. A new player experiencing for the first time tibia :)
Tibia just released sound! For the first time in 25 years, I've been playing it since a child and now it feels weird, but is a really nice addition!
1. u can move diagonaly (numpad or WSAD-QEZC)
2. u can change your character face side without moving (ctrl+arrow)
You can turn by holding control or shift depending on your settings
Someone reminded me of it in the comments a few weeks ago!
@@PeteSmells Awww that's so nice, I'm pretty happy you enjoyed it, I still have many great memories of this game, check out the edit in my comment and the island of Rookgaard, It's a very different experience, but one you might like since you enjoyed OldSchool Runescape before.
Ok you have my attention with this. I'll make a new character soon and post thoughts on that too. I love that kind of opening sequence
I did remind you haha, a friend of me played this in the past. I was curious to see the early game! Really nice vid mate!
Omg exping two days to get like level 67 from 66 and then die due to lag when you were at like 2% to hit it 🤣🤣🤣
…but still, you gonna say “I’m done with this &£&@ %^**%€^ ^%^€ and ^%*$$ $¥€*%%*$€* !!!🤬” and 45min laters you find yourself on the spot again meanwhile txting all your friends what just happen 😭 obviously txting in the GAME, there was no whatsapps or instagrams and every single mobile txt message actually costed money.
Sometimes your internet ( cos it used to be extremely unsteady and laggy 15 years ago, everyone was on like 100 ping lol ) kicked off and you couldn’t log in so you was calling your friend to log in and get your backpack out of your corpses lmaaoooo
I smashed my desk top once cos I hit the keyboard so hard 😂
Ahh good old days.
I’m sure somebody already mentioned it but you can hold the Control button on your keyboard then hit an arrow key to turn your character to face a specific direction for spell casting. You can also lock your numlock and use those numbers to move diagonal and normal
you can use the number pad (1, 3, 7, 9) on the right side of your keyboard to walk diagonally :)
Then you can move in any direction, even diagonally.
really late to this but if i remember, u can change the direction you face by holding ctrl or something like that and pressing direction key
Tibia just added full soundtrack and noises to the game, we need another video!
More Tibia please 🙏
this game doesnt need soundtrach, i discovered tons of great music just by playing tibia and listening to random music playlists in the background
I first found this game 2002ish. Just started up again and have nostalgia equivalent to pokemon. Also, you can combo wand+spells and rotate character by holding either shift or ctrl and pressing the direction.
Diagonal movement is used with q,e,z,and c. or the NUM pad
you can move diagonal and if you hold ctr and move you change directions and not move. type deposit all at the bank
Love the idea of this series and great video
A-w-s-d…. To walk. Diagonals: Q E Z X
I am still proud to have been part of titania back in the days of Unit vs Kazadum.
you can move diagonally by using numpad and you can change direction you are facing without walking by holding uh... I think its control, could be alt, and then your arrow keys to face that direction.
You are able to use diagonal movement if you turn chat off. It is toggled movement controls.
at 4:00 you can actually change the attack mode on the top right mark on the screen which will boost your knight and paladin attacks. The default is that yellow-ish small sword with a small shield icon but if you click on the one on top of it you can actually enter full attack mode, which is the only mode needed to play the game at all
I LOVE THIS VIDEO SERIES
Ahahah cute, I wish we could see more newcomers to tibia these days... nice job and, by the way, you CAN move diagonally in tibia, either through your numeral pad, pushing your character with your mouse or setting your hotkey wherever your want ;)
I’m like 1 year late but you can totally move diagonally if you click to move in that direction.
Nice! I use to play Tibia a long time ago
Great to see someone new get into this game, I can give you two tips, 1: you can "deposit all" your money by saying that, and 2: there is something good about not having a soundtrack, and that is you can play a podcast or your favourite music in the background. Hope u keep enjoying this awesome game!
to move diagnally you should use the number keyboard (7, 9, 1, 3)
Tibia Has sounds now after 25 years.
The thing I miss most about tibia is how easy it was to create your own private server and how easy it was to rework the game. I remember creating my owner servers when I was like 12.
You could walk diagonal if turn chat of and move with wasd ,eqzc are diagonalss :) you can turn on a sport holding control + direction
I’m here to tell you that tibia now has sound! Also, you can move diagonally with QEZC or numpad.
You can face the direction by holding the control button and press an arrow key
Hi! Lifelong tibian here; we have sound now! Also diagnal movement and moving the direction your character are facing is ez and comfy!
Maybe an update video? 1 year on? :D
so many memories, thanks
when tibia was at its peak i was a baby, so my curiosity about it sparked many years later. wanted to know if its worth it to played in 2023. amazing video!!
Pro tip: keyboard with numpad allows you to move diagonally
You can rotate in place holding CTRL+arrows
You can face to another side by holding Ctrl + Arrow
You can change direction by holding ctrl and pressing the direction you wanna face bro.. you don’t need to move. Played this back in 2004, not what it use to be. Still a great game tho
A good new winter update is coming. and there is sound now also
Nice video would be nice more content playing tibia
If you hold control and click the arrow to the direction you wanna cast spell you don't need to move forward and backward:p
new player in tibia , amazing
There is now sound in tibia btw
Did you stick around? Would be cool to see someones playthrough for the first time these days
I've been playing since 03. I quit RL Tibia when it became overwhelmingly pay to win. I now set up my own OT Tibia server and it's the best for me and my friends play style
different from the standard mmos tibia has a very peculiar quest system where the player needs to discover clues that stay with npc or in books
Keep doing this series!!
but now they have sound in Tibia...finally :D
Game looks space age compared to when I played in early 2000s.
No soundtrack reminds me of the Avernum series made by one guy
Just thought I'll let you know after nearly 30 years, the game has sound!
love tibia, i still playing
I'm sure you learned by now but you can turn in place and move diagonally
