The Foresters are known to have faulty relays that prevent the a/c from working. It’ll blow hot air. Most likely that was all it needed. Dealers will rip you off, and private mechanics often don’t know so “it must be the compressor.”
@@acement1 I gave you a thumbs up. This is what I understood, and if it comes back, have an honest mechanic come and reset the code after changing to a new battery.

Recently drove a car with a sunroof for the first time in my life, and am happy I didn’t go for one. My eyes are really sensitive to sunlight, so the extra light from that comes from above is very annoying to drive with. Wouldn’t be bad at night, but during the day it was bothersome, maybe even dangerous because I couldn’t see as well.
It's just resetting your computer. Same as if you clear the codes and it isn't really an issue otherwise the code will just come right back after X amount of miles
My 2013 peugeot used to go into limp mode after really cold starts without triggering any codes. Had to shut down and remove the battery clamp for few minutes to get it to work properly. Eventually it triggered several codes for several modules low voltage. The battery was almost new and in great shape. The problem turned out to be the factory installed crappy quick connect clamp and thin wires on the positive terminal so i suppose the voltage drop during cold starts was so extreme that it confused the computer. I rewired it with proper thick wires and proper battery clamp and havent seen the problem since.
This happened with my 2011 Highlander.(170K miles) One day the Check Engine Light showed up when I started the car up, it just never went away as well as the traction control light. A couple of days later the battery was dead and wouldn't take a charge, so I had to replace it. The CEL was gone when the system restrted with the new battery and 250 miles later still not CEL so I am chalking it up to a battery issue.
My 04 saturn ion's transmission has a complete mind of its own sometimes it shifts great but sometimes its straight junk and just sits at high rpm for about 40 seconds then shifts back down but its still going strong with 187,600+ miles stil original engine and tranny, tranny had work back in 2007 for solenoid replacement.
About three years ago I came across a Subaru Impreza with a manual transmission and just over 88,000 miles. The car seemed OK but the guy was really hustling hard to sell it under market value. That raised a few red flags so I passed on it.
Hi Scotty. I liked the video. You mentioned "fun to drive" several times in this video. If you get a chance to, I recommend you test drive a 2014-18 Forester XT version. It has the same turbo engine as the WRX. It's day and night compared to the NA version you tested in this video.

My 2017 MDX crapped out in the garage a couple years ago. I took the battery to the auto parts store and had it tested. It was fine. I put it back in and the car started right up. It has run great and code free for 45,000/mi since.
Unplugging the battery terminals "resets" nothing.......if the problem code exists, it will resurface a day or so later. Your car's computer is constantly scanning for problem codes.
