This video is absolutely impressive. You managed to got where I always wanted to go to ... and you filmed it! Great stuff! I will go on vacation to Denmark in about 1 1/2 weeks. I will be in Northern Jutland. Hope I can take a good video of Limfjordstunnelen in Aalborg.
@Intrepidity trucks pay $ 215! At 10 or 15% truck traffic, that would mean toll revenue is even higher. But the 1988 construction costs were no less than $ 4.5 billion. (which also includes a twin-tube train tunnel)
@Freewayjim Thanks! The tolls are excessive, even by European standards, but there used to be a ferry where you had to pay even more, plus it took over an hour at quiet times to cross the strait back in the 90's. Now it takes just over 10 minutes.
That is damn impressive, I wish New Zealand has some proper tolling systems, because then the councils will get a nice revenue to build more roads and other public transport systems. Some of our roads have around 200,000 cars on it a day, and yet it is still free to use!
@sc4portugal Don't forget Danish commuters can deduct tolls from their taxes and the income in Denmark is generally much higher than elsewhere in Europe (apart from the rest of Scandinavia). The bridge has cost € 3 billion to built (1988 prices!)
Travelled over this bridge recently on our way to Copenhagen; impressive, until we came to the toll booth where we thought that a mis-placed decimal point meant we had to pay 240 Danish Kroner. Guess what?? No mistake at all. A bit of a shock to say the least; can't very well do a u-turn and go back!
@ScrewdUPClickV2 in means "stop if flashing". You'd be surprised how similar Danish is to either English, Dutch or German. I never learned Danish, but I can understand nearly all text-based signs.
That is a highly impressive bridge, and it had better be for a $43 USD toll, OMG! Nice job with the video.

The toll may not exactly be cheap, but the bridge and the view are awesome! Heck, I'd pay the US$43 just to drive it. Great video, Chris! :)
Is recorded on Easter Day 2011

Scandinavia is quite infamous to be very expensive with about everything.

Damn… and I thought EACH OF New York City’s suspension bridges were ridiculously expensive… if I ever get that way, I’ll plan accordingly…

Strange, traffic slowing down on the bridge, what caused that?
Impressive monument overal.
Amazing feat of engineering.
No Öresund video?
@aswchris I have never heard of tolls as expensive as Danish bridge tolls.
@aswchris I think that "blink" is pretty obvious for an English speaker.
Very nice bridge, but way too expensive.
Qe tisht mihna welate me dibe?! Her biji Kurdistan
Man, all these small cars towing cargo!
What do you think all the road user taxes in petrol is for? Why should New Zealanders pay tolls to use roads that they already pay for in tax.
