One of the best shows to ever be on TV. Tim was the man who wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he sure was fun trying to figure life out. All the characters were spot on, and it was sad day when the show went off the air.
Jill Taylor was EXACTLY like my mom. Her personality and sense of humour was spot on. The way she put Tim in his place was the exact same way my Mom put my Dad in her place. My mom passed away 10 years ago and watching Home Improvement brings back hilarious memories. My dad loves watching it too for the same reason. He always says that there was no one like my Mother. The words of my Dad “She never put up with my shit and that is why I could never remarry. There was no other woman like her”. 😂
Makes a lot of sense...ppl are too woke that they look down on these shows and say it's unhealthy but it's not it's realistic and there was strength in their relationship
Jill Taylor was incredibly abusive in the name of "feminism". She performed an ungodly amount of emotionally manipulation on everyone in that family. That isn to something to be proud of.
Even though the show portrayed the stereotypical "oaf" husband and capable wife, Tim was good to them. He was faithful, provided for them and loved them. Loved this show!

@piggy kid no1 The latter seasons Jill episodes were really bad. Even dragged Wilson down. The one with the car she bought. In a previous episode when Tim wanted to buy something he wanted by himself, the lesson was compromise (from 40 tickets to 7) and he should consult her, but in the car episode he is still the bad guy, when she got mad, left him in the parking lot for the car delearship, got home and bought a car. He tried to make amends, saying that she should buy a car she wants (after he had to wait in parking lot for the dealaship guy wo take him home), not knowing she went behind his back. Keep in mind the family already had 2 cars (one that was considered primarly hers) and a restauration project. The writers had to bend themselves, making Tim steel her new car. A college roommate episode or something like that. But, no. Why would you go to someone else's house to do their laundry? If it was just a simple she likes to make food for Brad and be homely, then that would be more believable. But that can't be used for Jill to have her feminist rant about boys not treating girls link slaves. The entire plot of the episode was just annoying. And the moral of training your husband and kids. Why? Marriadge is a partnership. You do not train your partners. You work with him. Dragged Willson too down. He was trained by this feminist writer to do things for her, and that was just the good thing to do. Because women can't like cooking and cooking is evil. And we needed the image of Willson in a pink apron, being emasculated. Not him doing something nice. Being trained to take women responsabilities. I'm sorry but she was the worst character there. Every win Tim got, she still never truly apologised. Best were Tim and Al. Tim was overly enthusiastic, but he went to great lengths to help his friends, family and even strangers.
So much so that back when I watched this show on its original airings and in syndication, I didn't want to get married. That of course changed when I met the woman who's now my wife. And while ours aren't as dramatic as that between Tim and Jill, it does happen.
