I didn’t see anyone mention that this was Mitch’s birthday gift to Scott. Wicked is Scott’s favorite musical and he was supposed to go see it, but was sick and unable to go, so Mitch did this for him.
Scott is a beast of a singer. Mitch’s voice is so pure and his range is amazing, but Scott adapts himself so easily and his range is ridiculous considering he is a natural baritone. His falsetto is so impressive considering he’s singing with Mitch.
Also, you might have recognized that wig from the Frozen medley. That damn wig is it’s own character lol. It shows up again in Pop Goes Broadway.

There's no such thing as the "ultimate" Mitch slap.
On _The Sing-Off_ there was one comment that the judges made repeatedly: "You keep surprising us. The question is, how long can you keep doing it?" Well, it's been more than 11 years and they're still doing it, with no end in sight.
Mitch is now 30 years old. He's been doing this for just over a decade, and as others have already pointed out both Mitch's and Scott's voices and ranges have continued to improve since this video was made. Can you think of *any* reason short of an unforeseeable tragedy that this trend should not continue? I can't.
All of Pentatonix, including Mitch, is going to continue surprising us for a long time. Hang on tight and enjoy the ride. And get used to being Mitch slapped, because there are many more yet to come. It's going to be fun.

Thanks for doing this, Tylr. Yes...they're all incredibly good at modulating their voices to blend with another singer's so as to not "step on any toes" sort of thing. Their vocal coaches should be proud of themselves. That last little aria that Mitch did is not actually in the play. Mitch put it in himself...or was egged on to do it by Scott who is so proud of his buddy's vocal ability.

If you want more broadway there is PTX’s Waving Through a Window from the musical Dear Evan Hansen- Scott is off the charts in this one. Also Mitch’s cover of Your Power is so beautiful, your jaw will just land on the floor. They are all gifted for sure! 💜

I know Scott and Mitch both had consumed a little (or maybe a lot) of Dutch courage before recording this but they nailed it! There are several videos that show Mitch’s range. It’s very high. He is a natural high tenor. He can hit notes even a woman can’t hit. I believe it is due to the length of the vocal cords. The shorter the higher. Avi had long cords so he was also a natural deep bass. Not surprising he had learn to speak higher.
