    Hi Kevin, appreciate your content! I have two questions that I'd like your opinion on.
    1. Having had a total of about 1450 grafts transplanted in the past I am thinking of getting another one to create more density in the front and lower the hairline just a little bit. When styling the hair upwards I just feel the hairline is a bit high. I definitely don't want to go too aggressive on lowering the hairline. The surgeon adviced about 1500 grafts based on photos only. Overall I am just a bit worried about using too many grafts. What would your advice be?
    2. The surgeon that I am in contact with generally advices to use Minoxidil for about 6 months post surgery. Would you recommend this? I am not sure yet about commiting to Minoxidil so what would be the specific benefit of using Minoxidil post surgery only?
    Thanks a lot! Your hair is looking great! Thanks as well for being so open and sharing your story with the world!

    • @haircafekevin
      @haircafekevin  4 года назад +3

      Thanks and as for your questions I would say go for it. I was in the same position with my first transplant which was about 1100 grafts, I wasn't satisfied with the density so I had another 1000 grafts and I am much happier.
      You have about 6000 grafts on your head and even if you run out of those you can have facial hair or body hair transplants.
      Minoxidil helps speed up the recovery of the dormant follicles so it's good. Some copper peptides like tricomin can help with the inflammation too.
      Good luck!

    hey kevin I’m new to the channel, love your stuff man. I’m catching up on your videos, you’re super informative. I have two questions, you’ve probably answered them already.
    how many hairs do you think you were losing in the shower when you first noticed your hair loss? How many would you say you lose now?
    also, as someone who is starting to notice some diffuse thinning in the middle of the scalp and around the crown, do you think starting fin right away would be the best approach? My hairline is still almost completely intact, other than a small widows peak. My worry is that if i don’t start fin soon that will be the next thing to go.
    Thanks kevin, you the man

    • @haircafekevin
      @haircafekevin  4 года назад +3

      Hey! Welcome to my channel and thank you. To answer your quesrions...
      1. It was a massacre, I was losing hundreds of hairs and it was getting everywhere, even bunching up on my shampoo bottles, really disgusting. Also noticed it all over my pillow in the morning.
      2. Overwhelmingly yes, time is of the essence. The longer you wait the worse it's going to get and the less chance pharmaceuticals will reverse the damage.

    • @haircafekevin
      @haircafekevin  4 года назад

      Hi, I'd just use fin. I haven't heard of Harklinkken hair extract but the only way to combat hair loss long term is with an anti androgen and fin is the best, most convenient thing we've got.
      It's as simple as taking a pill and it is enough for most people to just take fin alone.

    Dermmatch is a MUST if you have miniaturazing hairline. All I could do before was put my hair forward to hide the temples but now it’s like I never had MBP I can slick them backward like you can’t see anything. I can do a surfer haircut, let them live freely without caring about the wind revealing my hairline etc. it really stick to your hair the only way to remove it is washing them with a shampoo, water only won’t do much.
    I’m so glad this video existed

      That’s it.

    your hairline is looking great . I have a question about alfatradiol since you seem extremely knowledgable on the subject. Indeed i'm looking for something to specifically target testosterone since i'm already on fin and i suspect my hairline to be extremelly sensitive to testosterone and not dht only. Do you know if alfatradiol prevent testosterone from attacking hair follicle ? Even thought i did my research i can't find a proper answer on the subject and it seems that alfatradiol only has an effect on dht level. Thanks for your time and keep making great video about hairloss its nice to see your channel becoming bigger

    • @haircafekevin
      @haircafekevin  4 года назад

      This is conjecture on my part but I think it's possible. Alfatradiol is an estrogen and estrogens work indirectly against testosterone as they compete with the same receptors on the cell.
      RU58841 is a safer bet against testosterone but alfatradiol might help.

    Hi Kevin.
    I love your videos and the fresh info provided in each of them.
    In addition is a follow up of my two questions that were left unanswered (I guess because of the holidays).
    1. Is there anything in particular that I should be aware of while using RU 58841 (5% pre-made solution) on my research subject, and are there any precautions or protection against development of androgen deficiency side effects or cardiovascular issues ?
    2. I wonder If you can share your experience about the proper dosage of RU per day in case of diffuse thinning? Would 1 ml per day be sufficient?
    Thank you for the reply and happy holidays.

    • @haircafekevin
      @haircafekevin  4 года назад +2

      Hey, sorry I missed your questions, happy to answer.
      1. For your research subject I would recommend not using a a pre made solution, RU is molecularly unstable and cannot be stored for a long time. You should mix a fresh dose every time it is applied to your research subject.
      Sides are possible as it is experimental but the only cases of sides I have ever heard are from people using insanely high doses, like 150 mg/day.
      2. For a diffuse thinning subject you will want good coverage so 6 ML of a good solvent like stemoxydine, alfatradiol or a K&B solution mixed with 20 mg of ru58841 should do it. You can get a 0.01 scale for exact measurements or a 10 mg scoop for rough measurements.
      Good luck!

    • @andrejdimovski7197
      @andrejdimovski7197 4 года назад +1

      Thank you for the answer, Kevin.
      According to my information gained from the personal experience of friends using RU, a dose of less than 3% has no effect on AA. However, I will try the way you suggest with a 2% dose and will post a response as soon as I notice relevant results.
      Best,
      Andrej

    Hey Kevin, thanks for the no bs info you provide.
    Just wanted to get your quick take on my situation. I’m 27 and receded slightly at the hairlines and temple. From my mothers side, her father died at 80 something with an incredible full head of hair, and her brother has minimal loss himself if any. My father and his dad both had the M shape pattern, my dad receded in his temples and now at 65 still has no hair loss anywhere else other than that M. So my question is could it be possible I’m following the same trend?
    I know that’s a rather vague question, but how often do you think some men experience certain patterns until they stabilize and is there really ever a good way to tell?
    Ps I’m from Canada, just a heads up you get rogaine without a prescription here too. Thanks again man!

    • @haircafekevin
      @haircafekevin  4 года назад +1

      Hey, family history can increase the chances of having hair loss but it is never a sure thing. Lots of bald people have parents with no history of hair loss, it can be a recessive trait.
      As for it stabilizing, it might in the short term but I would not leave it to chance. Sooner or later your androgens will eat your hair and the longer you wait the worse it's going to get. Time is of the essence so get in touch with your doctor about fin.

    Hey, I saw that when you apply foam minoxidil you tend to use much more than 1ml and apply it all over scalp instead of just on temples or crown? Isn't that bad for you? As Rogaine states that a bigger dose won't necessarily grow more hair and you should use more than 2ml a day. Also Are you sure that liquifying foam minoxidil won't negate the effects?

    • @haircafekevin

      Thank you and yes I have use ashwagandha as well and I feel it is a decent libido enhancer. The boost in test isn't enough to cause hair loss, especially since it has been shown that small increases in test actually lower alpha 5 activity so any harm the test causes is balanced out by a drop in alpha 5 activity. That is why a lot of low test men gobald, because of the up regulation of allha 5 reductase and also why men who go on try actually regrow some hair.
      15 to 17 percent increase won't be enough for building strength or muscle but it might raise libido a bit.

    Really depends on your hair type on which item to use. I had diffuse thinning all on top even the sides. #2 buzz with dermatch worked great as long as you have just enough hair for it to stick to. Once it gets even worse it can rub off on other peoples clothing, pillows, etc. But it is the best for fine type straight Caucasian hair. Topix is good for longer hair or medium length hair without activity. Cabuki or Kabuki sucked for me and went straight to the trash bin. I think it's only good for longer kinky or thicker diameter hair type people.

    So I’m 22 nearly 23, I’m on Minox nearly a year and fin 5 months, and I’ve noticed less shedding but no regrowth. I’ll probably get a transplant when I’m in my late 20’s but if I was to be on RU at that point also, would getting a transplant be risky? Because I’ve read once someone commits to using RU, they’ll need to apply everyday, and if time passes where one can’t apply it, then shedding occurs rapidly. So for the case of hair transplant, how long would it be before you could apply a topical?

    • @haircafekevin
      @haircafekevin  4 года назад +1

      Not everybody gets regrowth, for some stopping or slowing down hair loss is the best we can hope for. Throwing the kitchen sink at it hoping for regrowth is not going to help, RU will not help unless you were still losing ground on fin.
      RU does not need to be used indefinitely, you just need some anti androgen and you're already on fin.
      A hair transplant would be your best option. You can resume topicals just a few days after a transplant.

    I jumped on finasteride 1mg/day eight months ago when I started to notice small signs of mbp (soon gonna be 32). I have a full head of hair but since I started finas I've noticed that hair all over my head slowly has changed texture and quality (seems finer, thinner & lighter). Take care!

    • @haircafekevin
      @haircafekevin  4 года назад +1

      No problem! That is probably just genetic. Fine or light hairs has nothing to do with male pattern baldness, hair thinness or thickness refers to how many hairs exist per cubic square centimeter. I have naturally fine and light hair too and so do my sisters who don't have any hair loss.
      Whatever it is, finasteride cannot be making things any worse so don't drop it.

      They are not that much stronger due to diminishing returns and I question if many of them are really as strong as they say they are.
      Dr. Lee and the doctor who compound promox made a 15 percent minoxidil mixed with topical fin and according to him any minoxidil over 10 percent has to be a cream, not a liquid which is what promox was yet many of these liquid 15 percent solutions are liquids.

      It sounds psychosomatic. Truth be told if you are that scared of finasteride then you probably shouldn't take it. Even if it doesn't cause sides you are so terrified it will you'll give yourself a nocebo effect and convince yourself something is wrong.
      If you want to take it then take the smallest possible dose, just 0.25 mg/every other day. Just take it like an aspirin and forget about it and stop reading horror stories online. You are so scared that even thinking about fin is giving you sides though so I don't know, you should speak with a psychologist probably.
