Dave is literally good at everything. Storytelling, double entendres, wordplay, content, emotion, he produces, plays piano, makes hits. It's insane and he's only 20. Crazy talent
@TheActivistBook only critique of this album is he could have used more producers. The lyricsm is amazing

Everything he does pretty much sounds the same. Hes not rubbish, but he's definately not as great as what everyone saying. The internet definately skews reality. For me, J Hus is what real talent is.

Yhh I agree with chuckie the amount of double entendres and wordplay that I missed is crazy. I'm still clocking shit now especially on the Streatham song. First time I listened to it I thought it was cool but I missed most of the bars

This is one of the best podcasts to chill to. None of that filter stuff, all from the heart and nothing to hide. Just good to listen to. Would recommend
deffo a great album, one actual album i can relate to that talks about depression, pain, heartbreak and art itself, dave is definitely a special one and has been for a very long time, the album itself changed my views of this world and also taught me to be open about my depression and suicidal thoughts , looking forward to hearing more albums from him in the future, both six paths and game over are incredible eps 🙏🏾

What pisses me off is last year Chuckie was going over what albums he was loving during one epsiode and briefly mentioned Dave's "Game Over" and said he didn't go back to it and brushed over it as if it weren't a fucking sick album. It seems like now that Dave has popped off even more, Chucks wants to pay attention loooool. That's just my take tho, I think he shoulda listened to Game over properly, better still 6 paths was fucking COLD. My point is Dave has BEEN the special one for a minute bro

In regards to chuckies comments on being black and ordering food it does for a fact happen to white people. I grew up in Jamaica for a period of my life (plus my mother is Jamaican from St. Elizabeth) I have grown up on Caribbean food. The amount of times I get comments (not necessary negative) about what does a white man know about yard food is a lot. Now because of how I’ve been raised, I often switch on my yard accent and reply. It’s all about how you deal with situations, but it does happen.

Let me be clear, I'm not black, I'm Asian with curly/kinky hair - mans got a Jerry curl ting going on when it's long fr😂 not saying I get what it means to be black either. But growing up around asian and black people, and being a minority in the UK, I understand the whole "weird vibe" thing. It's mad when people don't wanna sit next you on the tram cos you're brown. Or the way people look at you when you're about, just chillin and doing your thing. Or when people are looking over their shoulder when you're walking the same path behind them. The little subtle things like that, that you live with on a daily... that I live with on a daily. It's laughable but sad at the same time cos sometimes it gets to you.
And not to exclude white people, even some of my own Asian people and people of other backgrounds who haven't had a diverse upbringing have the same prejudice... I've heard people telling me to cut my hair short cos I look like a black yute. But that's just my hair fam, what d'you want me to do? Even if I can change the way it looks I wouldn't. Having said that, to put it bluntly, it's just plain fucked up.

Dave didn't even drop the best UK album of the MONTH. Little Simz did, and you lot in the scene aren't gonna give her any credit. Simz would spin Dave lyrically and musically and it's not even close and I like Dave. The UK scene is one big clique of friends who only make/like the same kind of music and some of the most talented UK artists don't get a look in because of this. Little Simz, Ocean Wisdom, Jay Prince, Sam Wise, Octavian, Slowthai, Lancey Foux, Lava La Rue, etc all deserve to be talked about more than most of the dons who the UK scene promotes.
I agree those artists don’t get the recognition they deserve, like slow Thai and ocean wisdom but dave is on another level
Dave produces and plays piano since he was 16. Little simz is cold but she's not more musically talented lol. I like simz but she's abit monotone in her voice. Talented for sure. Dave provokes more emotion and has alot to talk about with his upbringing.
@@gunner0479 I hear you I just feel like Simz is more unique musically and experiments with more genres in her sound/beats while Dave just kinda sticks to the standard spitting bars over standard rap beats which is calm too but it can get boring after a while. And Simz is a bit more interesting lyrically imo like in Wounds with Chronixx she makes a really good tune about violence in London without sounding overly preachy/lecturey, which Dave tends to lean towards sometimes. Obviously I rate both highly and they've both dropped sick albums, I guess I'm just frustrated that Dave seems to be heralded as THE lyricist of the new gen when there are bare they just don't get a look in.

I wish platforms like this would give credit to the UK artists outside of the UK scene who are actually making unique music, pushing boundaries, and making a name for themselves on their own, but it seems like they never will. Hopefully when Slowthai and Octavian blow in the next year the scene will begin to accept the more alternative lot bc I'm getting bored of mainstream UK music, it all sounds the same at this point.

You really can't compare Dave to other artists, especially rappers in the UK. You could tell he told his story with his own flow on his first SBTV video. The guys a musician, composer and everything else and that's why he's successful.
Im so glad that im not the only one who feels Burna's first bit of his verse was weak compared to how he normally kills every single song he has been on. Dave is a young genius in the making.
