  • Ohio is opening its state-owned lands, including its parks, to oil and gas development including drilling and fracking. So far, bids have been awarded for the state's largest park, Salt Fork, near Cambridge, as well as wildlife areas in Carroll and Columbiana counties. Additional public park areas are being nominated for additional bids. Environmental groups and park lovers are not happy about the state's current course and are pushing back.
Later in the hour, the Memorial Day weekend is coming up, which for many marks the start of summer. We will check in with our arts and culture team about some of the festivals and events that you may want to check out this summer. (Air date: May 22, 2024.)
