Last summer, I was at my Church's camp out. There was a sign saying, "No Fireworks." Our church abided by that rule. On one of the nights, I was looking for a quiet spot with enough light for me to read my Bible for my nightly devotional, all the while singing this song to myself. Suddenly, I hear a series of small explosions. Turns out, someone a few camp spots over were launching some fireworks. There was a volley, a break, then a second volley. I'm pausing my devotional to get the kids inside the main shelter and trying to calm them down when one of them mentions fire. Yeah. Those other people - who were not with us - has accidentally light the hill on fire. A few fireworks even made their way over to our campsite. I didn't help actually fight the fire, but I was all over our site helping people pack up, in case the fire got to us. The blaze was dealt with, and the culprits were also dealt with. Sadly, several families were already packed up, so they took off. This is all between 9 00 PM and 10 00 PM. It was a little scary and really frustrating.
Did I mention I was singing this song to myself mere seconds before the fire started?
