I think the most off putting and unique aspect of this story, is that the creature never fought back. Not against her. He just looked sad. Something about that is chilling to me. But I also recognize that just trying to ignore him was a pretty realstic way to respond to that terrible awful situation. And leaving it open-ended makes it more mysterious and interesting! That was actually a legit creepy story I didn't see coming! Like the dad at the very end, I was not expecting that twist! Very good story, very original, still leaves us with questions!
Yeah! Like he's so confident he'll have her he isn't going to fight like it has all the time in the world *shudders* there are legit stalkers like that. They'll just keep hounding you, find out where you live no matter what you do. They don't actually care about you, just a dream they've made up in their head.
That’s kinda where I went to too! The whole thing abt nobody having seen her date (ever) and the stranger acting like he’s not even there. The whole secluded little town being Her thing (not the guy’s). It’s like she went to a random town she read online during an acid trip and killed some random guy she met there from paranoia and now dad looks like it too
I definitely thought she was having an episode, rather than the guy being a demon. It all centers around her, and especially when the dad showed up with the same eyes I was like yep, she's just having a mental breakdown. Creepy but the supernatural stuff kinda got in the way of the actual creepiness imo.
I was entirely expecting her to wake up in the hospital and learn that the guy was her date the whole time, and she went through a complete psychotic break. When she awoke, she was told the truth and realizes with horror what happened. Then, right when you think that it was all in her head, she looks up...and there he is.
OMG THIS IS HOW I READ IT TOO. I thought the date ran after the stranger after seeing him on his way to get drinks and confronted him, he THINKS he won but in reality the stranger like, did some sort of demon possession that connected them cause the dates body was torn like someone tried to stretch him to fit the strangers proportions, and the stranger was acting like he was their date and like he didn't understand why she was so scared because he took care of that creepy guy, its ok now. But she sees him as the creepy guy and kills him, and that's why he's like "why would you hurt me??" because to him, he took this girl on a date and confronted some creep that made her feel unsafe but everything was fine now and things should have been going very well. I don't know if I think the demon like...steps into its victims and literally steals their skin and maybe their mind doesn't go/doesnt go just yet? itk but that's what I thought was going on the whole time
I thought the same thing, I am frustrated that we didn't get more of the story! If it's the last thing I do, I will personally hunt the author down and kindly ask them if they could make a part 2.

I'm not finished with this episode but I gotta say, going to an undisclosed location with a man you don't know very well? And he starts driving out of the city? I'd start thinking about how long it would take for the police to find my body buried in a shallow grave under a barn.

i need a sequel to this so bad. Who is the grey eyed entity? where did they come from? who is 'she'? what happens to the character afterwards? do they gain knowledge and fight against this entity? do they travel the world in search of answers? I NEED TO KNOW !!!
The bathroom story was a familiar one to me. My dad disappeared into the bathroom on his first date with my mom! She obviously wasn't too upset as they were married for 44 years, when she passed away. She discovered nerves made him go to the bathroom! 😂
you guys should make a series about Shane’s childhood lore it would be the best series yet😭 (My mom knocked on my bedroom door mid watch and it scared the shit out of me)
Look, me and my mom are from Chicago and she was so shocked that Shane had Harold’s Chicken. She was like “oh good for him! I’m surprised his white ass had some” and then when Shane expressed blowing up a porta-potty because it was too spicy she just nodded gravely.
oh this story is a GREAT example of terror vs horror. like, you KNOW something bad has happened when shes in that unmarked shop, when she hears the phone, when she locks the door..... but the horror of what HAPPENED to the date hits you and suddenly its so much worse than a creepy stalker who did something to the date
I’m a big fan of you ghoul boys, the writing style of the contributors, and the animation. Only complaint is that almost none of the stories offer an explanation/conclusion. They all just end on “scary situation not over” note. Would love to mix a few in where things tie up…for better or worse…urban legend style.
I in real life let out a little Yelp when she realized someone was in the basket with her. Like I’m already a little afraid of riding Ferris wheels without a creepy stalker
Love Bedtime Stories’s full-detail stills, but there’s something genuinely eerie and so fitting with Watcher’s rough pencil sketches. Always enjoyed it, keep up the good work!! 💖💜💙
the scariest stories are the ones with the potential to be real. this might have happened to someone. stalkers exist and that's what makes this story one of the scariest they've done.
I really like this one actually! A lot of interesting little details that (regardless of whether there actually was one or not) felt like there was some unspoken story behind them, rather than a bunch of creepy stuff thrown in for its own sake then waved away with the 'its a mysteryyyyyyy' card, balancing the concrete and the unexplained enough that it can be open without it feeling like one of those copout non-endings that these stories often fall victim to. And the writing style felt a lot more... true to life than a lot of the stories do? Like it was descriptive without my mind hitting any of those speedbump 'ah yes, a Writer is Writing this' moments. And the bf (while admittedly kinda creepy in the very beginning) was likable enough, at least on the surface, that it actually had some impact when he got smlarshed. The familiarity of the anxieties (being followed by a strange man, going somewhere isolated with someone you don't know all that well, losing someone in a crowd) act as an effective but not generic jumping off point, the panic and confusion escalate well, and when it does cross the threshold into the more visceral and more overtly supernatural stuff, its done without making it feel tacky or like an incongruous jump. Over all, *very* solid.
8:37 I do this too! My doctor told me it was my brains way of coping with stress due to trauma, sometimes my eyes get really sore and dry from staring off for so long. My partner picked up on it a lot, you could talk to me, move me, hurt me and I’d just keep staring. Very terrifying for someone to see who doesn’t know what is up lol.
the woman absolutely beating the shit outta that thing leads me to believe she'd absolutely do it again in that hospital room and I for one, commend her for it
This story was so cool! I didn't know where it was going. I half expected a reversal where this man being creepy was a trick and he was actually trying to warn her about her date or something. The description of him being stretched was so creepy! And the gentle demeanor of The Man. All of it was super interesting and very well crafted.
Exceptionally good story this episode, not just the plot and execution but the writing itself. Such rich little details that make it much, much scarier And is it just me or is the music and sound design especially top notch this episode too? 👌
Had something similar happen to me, not like the end, but definitely scared the hell out of me. I don't know if the dude thought I was someone else or was trying to pose as someone else. But the moment he touched me I yelled out "WHO ARE YOU?" turned heads immediately. I ran off and found my group. Didnt live in the area so I never saw him again. Strangers are scary.
I really wanted the Ferris wheel scene to be the stranger telling the main character that her date was actually a serial killer or something that plot twist would’ve been so good
This is actually a very good spooky story! It got me spooked! Maybe it's because the Stranger is weirdly... cute and gentle. And the escalation of the events is well-done
I've always loved the idea of fusing carnivals and horror, it takes away the youthful joy of it, I guess I've done that in my own work and it's really fun to do haha
If you've never seen MTV's "Scream" I highly recommend it. The second season has a pretty significant arc (I think 3 or 4 episodes?) where they're at the town carnival. Very creepy!!
This reminds me of Capgras Delusion! A neurological disorder where you're convinced someone you love has been replaced by an identical impostor. Basically you still recognize them, but your brain fails to activate the warm fuzzy feelings you get from looking at a loved one so you think it's not them.
thought this story was going in the direction that her date did have some Sinister Intentions, and the monster somehow knew and was protecting her by killing him
13:48 I'd be scared shitless myself, trying to get away, texting people while not taking my eyes off him completely. I froze in terror just hearing this. Most stories don't frighten me, but this is very plausible. I would be texting all of my friends, who would already have my location. If he tried to hold me, he would be screamed at and fought against.
I always awkwardly catch strangers eyes and worry they think I'm watching them and I glance back at them in worry only to catch their eyes again and make it worse 😅

This was giving Phantom of the Opera so much, between the daddy issues, the killing the boyfriend, the obsession with the girl, I’m not convinced this wasn’t a Phantom of the Opera reimagining-fanfic
Phantom goes so hard
In today’s episode of ‘Watcher Fashion Police’, Shane is cosplaying Ryan and Ryan is giving Stanley Tucci prepping for his video on how to make a Cocktail.
This is the first one to REALLY stick with me, especially as a woman. AYS once again proving that nothing is scarier than a creepy man
nothing scarier than a man** /lh /hj
i need a sequel to this so bad. Who is the grey eyed entity? where did they come from? who is 'she'? what happens to the character afterwards? do they gain knowledge and fight against this entity? do they travel the world in search of answers? I NEED TO KNOW !!!
It certainly feels like something that could be adapted into a film. I'd watch that.
Frrrr I need a backstory or after story smthn with at least some form of explanation
The bathroom story was a familiar one to me. My dad disappeared into the bathroom on his first date with my mom! She obviously wasn't too upset as they were married for 44 years, when she passed away. She discovered nerves made him go to the bathroom! 😂
i will forever love any series the watcher brings in.
I always click SO fast when seeing the are you scared notifications!! It's been a LONG week, thank you for always delivering, watcher team ❤
Bros SAME
😂 we can't wait 😊
Bro I’ve been testing all week at school and it’s so nice to come home to one of these @sarasthoughts
Shane talking about Nightcrawler’s tail is going to be part of a compilation. It’s that iconic 😂
Probably my fav story so far. This one actually managed to surprise me with where it went. Also gotta love a flesh mask.
you guys should make a series about Shane’s childhood lore it would be the best series yet😭
(My mom knocked on my bedroom door mid watch and it scared the shit out of me)
imagine if she just came in without you noticing and tapped you on the shoulder mid watch tho
Look, me and my mom are from Chicago and she was so shocked that Shane had Harold’s Chicken. She was like “oh good for him! I’m surprised his white ass had some” and then when Shane expressed blowing up a porta-potty because it was too spicy she just nodded gravely.
Abigail… congrats on writing the first creepypasta to ever terrify me in my approximately 20 years on the internet.
In a word, YIPES
oh this story is a GREAT example of terror vs horror. like, you KNOW something bad has happened when shes in that unmarked shop, when she hears the phone, when she locks the door..... but the horror of what HAPPENED to the date hits you and suddenly its so much worse than a creepy stalker who did something to the date
I’m a big fan of you ghoul boys, the writing style of the contributors, and the animation. Only complaint is that almost none of the stories offer an explanation/conclusion. They all just end on “scary situation not over” note. Would love to mix a few in where things tie up…for better or worse…urban legend style.
Omg imagining being trapped in an enclosed space with a random, strange man that you were already frightened of????? I am shuddering in fear
these videos literally make my week 🫶 idk what i'd do without the watcher boys atp 😭
the scariest stories are the ones with the potential to be real. this might have happened to someone. stalkers exist and that's what makes this story one of the scariest they've done.
23:28 Shane saying "Papa Papa!" is so adorable 😂
I LOVE that this show is basically a platform for horror writers! Creators supporting creators
as someone who zones out often, it's one of my fears that a person I accidentally "stared at" would confront me 😅
Every episode, without fail, when Ryan says "Lock your doors" I can mentally only finish that with "Lower the blinds, and fire up the smokemachine!"
Shane looks like a college student who goes to the local cafe, orders a coffee and begins working on his paper.
He’s just missing headphones 😂
Shane calling out the date for being creepy is so true
Over all, *very* solid.
yeah this is one of the real bangers of AYS, still hits the very common mystery part but still satisfying too
Whoever does the CC for title card needs a raise. Perfect everytime. 🎉
Been obsessed with these vid lately, watched them all, and I honestly have never been so happy to see someone upload!!!
The sketches are always so great! I love how well they match the stories
In stories like these I want the woman to rush up to him and scream right in his face "leave me alone!"
Make him be afraid of you girl
I came here 2 hours ago when there were no captions but now I’m back and here they are. Thank you to person who makes all of Watcher’s captions 🙏💘
I was literally binging the Are You Scared Playlist and here's a new video. Imma have a blast today!
Shane looks like one of those garden gnomes with that hat, and I here for it
As someone who lives near where Shane must have grown up, I found myself laughing at how he described Schaumburg.
Exceptionally good story this episode, not just the plot and execution but the writing itself. Such rich little details that make it much, much scarier
And is it just me or is the music and sound design especially top notch this episode too? 👌
These never cease to entertain me
i have social anxiety, so immediately yes
Team Social anxiety! ✌🏻
Same. It's why I haven't left the house today. It's the worst day where I live to go outside.
@@iaminpainauchocolat9300 why the "worst day"? Because of weekend?
@@einienj3281 because of the tourists and crowds
@@iaminpainauchocolat9300 tourists? Where do you live? At the louvre?
Had something similar happen to me, not like the end, but definitely scared the hell out of me. I don't know if the dude thought I was someone else or was trying to pose as someone else. But the moment he touched me I yelled out "WHO ARE YOU?" turned heads immediately. I ran off and found my group. Didnt live in the area so I never saw him again. Strangers are scary.
13:08 I'm so sorry but that drawing of the "grey-eyed stranger" sent me rolling
Ryan: So…are you scared?
Me (nervous): …no…
We should be giving Ryan more credit for his psuedo-crystal hippie fit in this vid. Looking good king.
screaming at every bad decision she made, STOP GOING TO SECONDARY LOCATIONS 😭
I wish these videos were like an hour and a half, one of my favorite series to watch on RUclips!!
I've always loved the idea of fusing carnivals and horror, it takes away the youthful joy of it, I guess
I've done that in my own work and it's really fun to do haha
I guess it’s similar to how clowns, little kids, toys/animatronics, etc are often used in horror as well
If you've never seen MTV's "Scream" I highly recommend it. The second season has a pretty significant arc (I think 3 or 4 episodes?) where they're at the town carnival. Very creepy!!
“Release the hostages” 🤣🤣 totally using that next time I gotta drop the kids off at the pool
To the writer of this, fantastic job 👏 👏👏 most are predictable but this did not turn how expected. To the watcher team, amazing as always ❤️
No one:
Shane and Ryan: *talking about how nice of a lover Nightcrawler would be*
This reminds me of Capgras Delusion! A neurological disorder where you're convinced someone you love has been replaced by an identical impostor. Basically you still recognize them, but your brain fails to activate the warm fuzzy feelings you get from looking at a loved one so you think it's not them.
love this series sm !! though my all time favorite story is from season 1, nothing has topped it
I’m sorry but Shane making a Brigadoon reference is the most Shane thing he’s ever Shaned 😭
Great story! And thank you guys so much for not beeping out the swear words this time.
You know it's spooky time when you hear the intro music kicking in
Only 5 mins in and I'm already terrified of this date 😂 walking in to my home uninvited? 🚩🚩🚩🚩
thought this story was going in the direction that her date did have some Sinister Intentions, and the monster somehow knew and was protecting her by killing him
this is probably my new favourite are you scared episode WOAH
I was watching some are you scared? Earlier so I’m hyped I have something new! Also I say Ryan and Shane need a scary story podcast
what a awesome story! And the art put to it added such amazing eerie details!
One of the best written stories they have shown
This is so well written! I have so many questions!
Whoever is the artist for this series is freaking amazing. I kind of want some of their work on my wall maybe not the creepy ones but....
It’s Mollie Ong!
I always awkwardly catch strangers eyes and worry they think I'm watching them and I glance back at them in worry only to catch their eyes again and make it worse 😅
I love how it’s written in first person like imagining it ends “and now I’m married 3 spooky kids”
8:37 I do this!!! I zone out a lot and this makes me feel better about it haha
This is the first genuinely creepy story I've heard in a long while. Def one of my favorites
So many red flags only a few minutes in! Never get in a car with a person u don’t really know especially when u don’t know where u r going!!! Literally a tinder date nightmare lol can’t wait to see where this goes 😂
If you do have your location on at all times
One of my favourite things of the subtitles on these videos is the different little descriptions of the watcher sting 😆
Ryan: Turn off the lights
Me: *Glances at the window where the sun is shining* Not sure I can turn that one off. I probably should start waiting til night to watch these
Shane and Ryan's little stories make me laugh and keep me from being too scared to watch and I will never be ungrateful for that.
Love that I found this channel so late, such a treasure trove of content!
