The series centers on the lives of Manahil and Salahuddin who fall in love with each other, but due to their social class differences Salahuddin refuses to marry Manahil. She then lives in an abusive marriage, while Salahuddin succeeds in his ambitions. After three year they fall for each other once again.

Man mayal's first episode and the rest of the drama are two separate things. Im amazed by how good this first episode is. All the characters are written in so depth, each expression is on cue, no ambiguous or unnecessary dialogues anywhere. Plus, maya ali and hamza ali abbasi look so beautiful. The whole haveli, mazar and the neighbourhood gives the aura of the drama being a periodic piece, yet it has a contemporary touch to it. Salahuddin too seems like a real hero, not the macho type, but an educated, kind, well-mannered and well-spoken guy. Manno too seems so pure. And her friendship with bia, as well as salahuddin's relationship with bia is so cute and refreshing to watch. Sadly, the rest of the drama does not follow the first episode in terms of writing and direction and gets disappointingly derailed. But this episode is a masterpiece.
