“Pointy nose pliers” idk why but as an American that made me chuckle. Love my boys on the other side of the world lol. Great video! Eveything you need to know in 18 minutes those these multi part videos I have to spend 3 hours watching lol
lucky that circlip didnt fly into the bottom of the crankcase!!!!....lol id be way more worried bout the circlip falling down into the bottom end then somewhere in my yard or garage!!!.... first thing i do is shove some clean shop towels down in there nice and tight and have a magnet stick in case it does fall down into cases but nice video otherewise
I have a 2017 and there isn't enough room to clear the studs when taking off the cylinder dome . It hits the top motor mount bracket buddy told me I have to basically tip the whole engine . But nowhere have I seen this having to be done
what was the verdict with the piston? Also, knowing the circlips can fly away at any given moment, why not just stuff a rag or paper towels over the opening to the cases? Great video otherwise, explained well, thanks for posting it!
great video! i have a question tho... how do you know if ur running too lean or too rich on the carb???? u stay w the regular jetting if u use the same piston?
Depends on your place like is it always hot or cold u probably would change jetting but if your to rich your plug with be oily and may had oil coming out the tail pipe if your lean it runs high idle or bogs on low end
your old piston looks scuffed up around the skirt. is that from the piston rocking around and touching the cylinder wall or is it normal to look like that?
Between piston kit, little end bearing, gasket kit everything to do it id have to check again for exact price i payed but can say it wasnt any more than the $300 mark
If you're going to make a video explaining how to rebuild a top end, you should at least do it right. You should always put a rag in the bottom end, so that nothing can be dropped inside of it.... like a circlip.

Ring end gap check is an a essential step you missed 😱 but the " don't leave things lose until later" is solid advice 👌
Ride safe 🙏
The way you explained everything was perfect you didn't overcomplicate it like most other video to
Thanks 🤟🏻
No worries man glad it helped!!
Hi mate well explained, and your work is A1. 1983 Yamaha YZ 250 K, does it have brass washers with nuts for head thanks

I pulled down a bike engine before and ended up with a bunch of cool paper weights 😂😂 great job Matt 😎 looking forward to more how to videos 😎👍
Haha there perfect size parts for a paper weight! On ya! Cheers man! Appreciate it.
You made a top end change interesting. Nice shop. Fix your buddies dirtbikes and show some riding and bet your shop will have to hire more help.
Can you explain the break in cycle as simple as you did this?

Can't believe you don't have a rag blocking the bottom end so that nothing can drop in there

Slam that piston around anymore and it will be square
how many hours on the top end?
I couldnt tell you exactly man, but it was a freestyle bike when i was riding it so the use it got wasnt super hard on it.
How much was this kit?
Between piston kit, little end bearing, gasket kit everything to do it id have to check again for exact price i payed but can say it wasnt any more than the $300 mark
