The background humming is actually kinda of nice (for me at least). I get really loud tinnitus at night which keeps me up, which is why I listen to ASMR even tho I don’t experience tingles or whatever. White noise like the humming drowns it out and helps me focus on your voice :)

For my opinion on the story, the op is as the asshole. Just as she said she understood where her sister came from, she got her mother who caused those feelings to arise in the older sibling to help her out. Imo, not okay, and I hope they realize that they don’t need to be invited.
I also find it weird how the op calls the clothes that the sister is going to wear as “frumpy.” To me at least, it feels like there is a lot the op is trying to cover up? At least when it comes to how she actually treats her sister.

It would be a v big deal n become the talk of the town if the wedding guests include ppl who know the bride's bio fam n see that her mom n sis are missing. We have to tolerate a lot of toxic bullshit. This is the down side of being very community minded. She COULD just cut them off n move away n postpone the wedding n start fresh in theory but that would be way too drastic and in laws are usually part of the same social circles in India so...)

Matronly means like an older married women or like a mom. The word is generally used to describe someone's maturity or nurturing skills in a positive way but miss golden child here clearly wants to use to to disparage her older sister's looks. As if older married women n moms n conservative women don't look good. Looks like the mom isn't the only body shamer in the family. Miss golden child is shallow and vapid.
Plus if she wants to show skin thats fine she can wear a less heavily embelished simpler design lehenga.
For the last one, I think it’s genuinely insane for anybody to do that. Its your good friends wedding, why do you care what you look like? You should be happy you get to play a special role in it even if you don’t like the theme or the colors. It’s so superficial to care that deeply that you would disrespect the bride and your good friend like that. Also, most brides don’t even pay for their bridesmaids dresses, so they got lucky she did! If she paid for the dress for you to wear, and you decide to buy another one by yourself, you would know better than to ask for your money back after disrespecting her like that 😂😂

Honestly, the sister is not wrong. Her younger sister is insecure and there truly is nothing she can do about it if her younger sister is going to be insecure about anything she wears. The comment was a bit much and the mom is a bit much for treating the older sister like the Golden child. As they say, the guests can never overshadow the bride. The younger sister should not feel like she will be overshadowed. Its just her insecurities coming to play. Ill sound like TA if I say this but this is just from my point of view

The sister who is getting married in June is NTA. She DID NOT pick the date. Her fiance gave reasons and one reason was that a family member has terminal cancer. Yall just want the family member to die before seeing them get married or what?? I feel like the other twin is insecure. If she is SOOOO insecure, she should change her wedding date to before June.

I’ve hated p much every bridesmaids dress I’ve worn because I prefer wearing suit/blazers but I never make that known to the bride and I always just go along with it for the day. It’s their day even though I have to sacrifice my comfort for that day.
