That's what I have. With the 2800 Intex filter. Pool is glistening.

Honestly I prefer the sand filter. Less fuss and only need to change sand every 3 to 5 years. Backwash every 2 or more weeks and never had sand going into pool . When I had a cartridge filter I was constantly cleaning the filter every 1 to 3weeks and a pain to clean. Filter cartridge only lasted 2 seasons before they will no longer filter refficiently. They're not cheap. I'll never go back to cartridge filter! To each his own. Good luck.

Have you tried cotton balls for the sand filter instead of sand use special cotton balls and work great no backwash or rinse
Put in the washer and they come out white as new trust me no sand issue what's so ever your way is good but the cartirdiges are pain to clean trust me cotton balls are the way to go

That Hayward pump that with that sand filter I used to own more of those pumps that 3/4 HP pump that unit was 18 years old and finally went. The motor started to smoke. I got secondhand.

Wow that's some use! I did end up pluging it in I was thinking I'd help someone out with the sand set up but the motor wouldn't spin and you could hear it trying.

@@TheHalls365 the motor is locked up if you take the front cover off and use a flathead screwdriver and turn it counterclockwise it will unfreeze itself
