One year later coming with the report, stock is trading at the exact same price, 215> the crash did come but it only brought the stock back to the price that you're currently valuing it at so if the numbers have changed at all then it's still overvalued even after the crash. The market still sees it as a great growth opportunity apparently.

now it's has a 52 week low of 136.. might fall further on earnings. I think it might be fairly valued now but probably not undervalued, since they paused on dilution finally

In regards to overvalued companies such as Tesla is there a definite cost to buying into them overpriced? Not simply one backed by fundamentals saying what it should be priced. I'm asking this because I believe Tesla will hit their milestones, but on top of that I think people may continue to love the brand and Elon going forward.
I don't think the people that are huge fans would be swayed by the fact that fundamentals indicate it's overvalued.
I understand what you guys do, it's the logical route and less risky as a consequence. "We worked this out, the company should be worth this, definitely not this."
But isn't this just one piece of the puzzle? Tesla has such a following it wouldn't surprise me if upon meeting milestones people kept buying, even though this had all been priced in years prior. People are saying it's a bubble that will pop, what could happen that would actually make it drop to where you think it should be, and is this even likely, regardless of fundamentals? Do fundamentals even matter to people in certain scenarios?
Shouldn't you be mixing fundamentals with an understanding of human behaviour surrounding this particular stock, as well as where the future is heading and where Tesla are positioned in that regard?
Btw, I also think they are overvalued, I'm just posing questions.

I've always been a huge believer that at the end of the day fundamentals matter. Having been an investor during the days of irrational exuberance, otherwise known as the internet bubble, it looks like "deja vu all over again." P/E doesn't matter, profits don't matter, it's different ... that wasn't true then and it isn't true now. Don't get me wrong, I own Tesla ... I think it is a great company with tremendous potential and I've made a good deal of money on it. Tesla valuation right now defy even visionary future growth. It is Cisco from the bubble days. At some point, hard to tell when, there is going to be a correction. There is so much cash in people's hands right now that they have to park somewhere that I am inclined to believe it won't be this year. I like what these guys do ... when the correction happens, the valuations are going to come down to earth, closer to where these guys say their valuation should be ... and then some for a lot of stocks. Right now people are just throwing money at whatever Cathie Wood is interested in, whatever new SPAC comes out or the new youtube 10X stock. You can make a lot of money with those bets, nothing wrong with that per se, but make sure to take the profits. There are a few areas of the market that are still undervalued at the moment but they may not break out until the pandemic is over. Just to hedge my bets, I've been moving a larger percentage of money to low risk/low yield investments, both in my retirement accounts and brokerage accounts, so that when prices do come back down to reality land, I will have the money to buy ... and you can bet that Tesla will be one of them.

@@johnmininger7472 Excellent comment John, I couldn't agree more. Some of these P/E ratios are absolutely mind-blowing and it's funny you're mentioning the internet bubble as I had the exact same thought the past couple of days. You have a lot of investors (or gamblers) who don't even spend 2 minutes looking at ratios, financial statements, balance sheets, etc. They just throw their money into whatever some random "analyst" is talking about, because it sounds legit and it looks like a science (forget about the fact many if not most day traders are more often in the red than they are taking profits), or they're just following a YT comment "buy stock ABC now," they check the price, it goes up then that must be the new Apple or Amazon!
I have read comments on YT from people who got into options and don't even know the basics, folks who are unsure whether they are trading cash or margin! Recently on a video that covered AMC someone was apparently under the impression the stock was trading at $20 right before COVID (it was at approximately $7-8), they don't even look at charts or maybe they check the wrong ticker symbol.
I think the main reason for that is too many impatient folks who just see the stock market as a casino, they want it all and they want it now, they trade based on emotions and learning the basics is a waste of time. You also have a ton of scammers, fake videos, fake screenshots of 6 figures profits....you have more than enough desperate people out there willing to throw thousands of dollars into whatever sounds too good to be true.

Love the channel and joined the discord. A sincere comment that I could make is, maybe limit the discord to strictly investing? There has been times where people discuss the pandemic, or politics on the general chat, mostly from a neutral perspective, and a certain member..I prefer not to say..would infer his/her opinion in a an arrogant tacitly sarcastic way. It's a great community, but would love to have more moderation of that type of commentary.
