Is it just me, or the 90s had some crazy sci-fi movies. They really invested in the script writers 🔥
You are not alone, most of the recent movies make one wonder if there are no more scripts/stories to write.
People were very creative and use their imagination. Gen Z grew up with technology and social media thinking for them and telling them what to think not how to think. Instead of going outdoors, they stayed indoors on social media and glued to their wireless devices.
That's a movie from the 90's????
@@RealXylon yes, 1997
Well main thing is corporations are risk averse now, they want the most profit for the least effort possible
I have seen this movie being recapped in multiple channels so far but this one is my favourite because
1. It's more detailed than the rest
2. The narration script is better
3. I am kind of addicted to listening to stories with this specific bgm.
Same here on every point
Lol...agreed!😊
.. ..
The voice and the music complement each other very well, a very relaxing vibe
The bgm makes all of these videos 10x better lol it's the main reason I only watch this channel over other similar ones
Gattaca is a compelling movie with beautiful music. After 25 years, it's only a tiny bit dated. Still well worth a watch.
Idk really, it felt aesthetically dated when it came out. The way it's shot and the design gives it a old school feel or a timeless noir-esque feel to it in places.
Jerome is very likeable, tormented by his own perfection but he accept to help Vincent by giving his "life"
*This is one of the most inspirational movies I've ever watched.* Vincent didn't let anything stop him from achieving his dreams, not even his genetics. "You wanna know how I did it... I never saved anything for the swim back." Imagine our world if everyone had that drive to pursue their dreams. He ran across traffic blind to share an intimate moment with a love interest. The soundtrack matches the movie perfectly. *This will remain one of my top 5 favorite movies.*
Fantastic analysis, I agree. Instead, our world has been incentivizing victimhood mentality.
@@DaneOrschlovsky this is what happens when everyone is forced on a regime and religion ingrained into you.
There are dreams… and oneiric dreams. They are complete different
@@DaneOrschlovsky so you're expecting everyone to be like VIncent?
@@___SourR34___ A sense of personal responsibility would be great. We are witnessing the results of entitlement in America right now.
“Self delete”
Very creative
Damn I didn’t see the brother plot twist coming at all 😂
Srsly not even a little 😅
@@SmartWentCrazy. I was so deep into it and then boom the brother comes back into the picture I was like oh no
This movie actually saved me from depression. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with little resources when I was in my 20s. Now I'm 30 i got a house of my own, a cat, yes a cat and I got cars too... I'm living more than enough. Idk if I want to get marry though... Never really thought this far.
my eyes got a lil wet reading the comments XD, im really glad that you made a life for yourself, you dont rly need a wife if you have enough cats fr fr
wow that's amazing! life isn't a competition so you should be happy with how much you have achieved. and also cats are AMAZING!
I’m happy for you! I’m also happy you love cats ❤ but this life isn’t the end all be all. There is a hereafter, please look into Islam at your local mosque.

Remember watching this in highschool years ago
I think that’s where I saw it too. AMHS or maybe RHHS
@@sashaikevichI saw it in HS, too ..hmmm 🤔
saw it in HS 10yrs ago too
Same. This came out when I was in high school in 97. Good times 😊
i think vincent always beat anton in the swimming, thats why at the end he said"you know why i always win?, cause i never left anything for the way back"
Love this movie and a great review
Also fun fact: Gattaca is one of the possible DNA sequence which fits perfectly that this dystopian society modifies your DNA.
4:00 its 2150 and they still have to do limb lengthening surgery😂😂
He didn’t show Vincent the silver medal because he thought he had a lot to live up to. He did it because even he couldn’t get gold.
“Jerome shows Vincent his silver medal from when he came second place in a swimming competition, and laments “Jerome Morrow was never meant to be one step down on the podium.” The silver medal is a strong symbol of the inherent flaws in the society depicted by Gattaca, as even the genetically superior elite, who are promised success, can fail.”
One of my favorite movies. It’s criminally underrated.
agreed
This movie would be so much better if instead mc was acting on his brother dream to go to space.
Mc perfectly healthy but invalid birth.
Mc brother injured but valid birth.
So they work together to get one brother to space.
Side polt :
1)After mc brother get injury their parents divorce or just abandoned the brothers, due to self doubt and shame.
2)give a proper reason for murder, the cancellation of the project would cause the director of project to feel shame. Also his family would compare him to a invalid family member. This cause him rage and result in the murder.
Why is no one talking about the doctor. The dude was a G. Mad props to the guy
I watched this movie long ago. This is a very good story and its a shame that is not that much known.
This is a nice one.❤❤Thank you.🎉
One of the most unique sci-fi movies from the 90’s. Soundtrack was good too.
2:25 that's a dirty ass water
The 90s was an interesting era for sci-fi movies. I always enjoy movies about questioning what is humanity, whether through genetic modification or AI.
A really underrated 90s gem
Top 3 movie of all time. Keeps me grounded.
I assume that this movie led to Ethan and Uma to make Maya.
and then they split up, sadly.
what is this a reference to?
@@NoNameAtAll2 the two lead actors of the movie got together.
Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman hooked up decades ago and they're the parents of Maya Hawke.
Gattaca and In time are the most underrated movies
Thank you for the recap! 😁
Great recap as always❤
I remember seeing this movie in high school, I was one of the few people interested and intrigued at the topic of the movie in the classroom lol
Good Film!
There isn't genetic modification on this movie. Only genetic selection.

Never fully understood this movie as a kid, thanks
Imagine being discriminated because of your DNA. Oh, wait, we're doing that already.
It’s a wonderful movie. Interesting story, great acting.
A recap of Predestination also is desired.
There's a scene in this film where the medium praises Ethan Hawke's "member".
Oh, as a kid i thought the doctor was actually his dad in disguise. Thanks for clearing that up lo

Shien factory and temu bouta be lit
This is what happens if you listen to eugenicists.
In fairness, this type of technology weeds out deadly sequences to allow for viable pregnancies. This film was based on the fear of the budding technology blending with that concept and going too far, but it helped my husband's cousin have a beautiful boy by finding a viable embryo. Hopefully, it stays that way and only goes so far.
this is 1 of the best movies I have seen in a long time .
This is my favorite movie ever

you would think the genetically modified ones would do the menial jobs - cause you know you could genetically modify them to not even care and do really well.
