The genesis of Afrobeat that defined the 70s was that heavy funk infusion from the black music scene of the likes of James Brown. That blend of Afrobeat was spectacular as it was heavy rhythm. Then we turn to “second bass “ of the eighties were the Afrobeat was mellower as is d case in this masterpiece

the horn arrangement on this song is wicked. i stand to be corrected, no one in my opinion can arrange horns like baba 70. The way he used his piano to call the horn section to BLOW is just sick. the interplay between his piano and the horns section, walahi can cause wonderfulument. The wonder made me shout just like that

A task dat must be done
Dem kill plenty Ibos before di war
    And more during di war
Our leaders start dem show Gowon
    Divide am into twelve
    Murtala and Obasanjo den come
    Divide am into 19
    Shagari and Awolowo den won
    Divide am into more

      Damnit! Freaking genius Fela...
Just imaging the rhymes, the contrast, the irony, the sarcasm that go into that delivery of PROFOUND TRUTH!
Fela was more just a musician!
It's good he made these songs. I think, somehow, Providence just make him make these documents to help Africa documents it's history.
I swear down, without these works, the establishments is sure to distort history or even grossly by negligence and even deliberately.
