    I am so happy to have found your channel! These reviews are so helpful. I transitioned to barefoot, minimalist shoes in late 2019, and I've struggled to find non-leather shoes.

    Cotton isn't friendly if it isn't organic. Sintetic is not friendly too but we have to use something. Thank-you for your video. Good karma. Have a nice life.

    For me they were large for sizing but im in the US. I got a 38, size us 6.5. i'm usually 6.5-7 so I got 7 to play it safe originally in the 39. They were so big like a whole size and a half bigger. I love my wildlings though

      Sorry to hear the sizing didn’t work out for you I guess you’ve got room for fluffy socks 💚 wildlings are great and super comfy glad you love them now!

      Omg im usually a 7-7.5 so i ordered an 8 then a 7. Still way too big. Im gonna try a 5.5. If it’s not that then it’ll have to be a 6.5 that’s the only size left I think would fit. US sizes btw.

    In usually a 7 womens wide US) or 7.5 (to fit my wide feet) . But for these I got a 5.5 womens.

    Sad to see someone from the UK not liking wool, as your sheeps are loved by their owners and their wool was once an economic backbone (I would travel to the UK just to get a nice tweed suit :P). Nowadays they mainly keep those fluffy guys for food :/
    However the cotton upper is a good point as it will be cooler, so it better fits the "year-round" city shoe mark. As you can waterproof it for autumn and spring and let the waterproofing erode for the summer.
    However, I'll sustain my point that buying wax for waterproofing is still better (more sustainable & versatile) than buying a spray in a full plastic bottle. It's better to re-wax a winter jacket than buying a fully synthetic goretex/polyester coat if you really care about the environment ;)

      How do you go about waxing shoes is it pretty straightforward or is there a specific technique?

    I’d love to know how durable your wildlings are and how long they would last when they’re used everyday. Do you think the out sole would stand-up to cycling everyday.
    I enjoyed your video and it nice to see reviews on the wildlings because there aren’t many.

    • @EvatheVegan
      @EvatheVegan  4 года назад +3

      I’ve been wearing mine daily even for forest walks and cycling up to 10km not long cycles for 3-4 months and they’re holding up great. The sole is a lot stronger than I anticipated. In terms of long term the fabric of these are plant fibres so may wear quicker but just stick a few stitches in any thinning and that should be fine. I stitch my vivos up all the time haha

  • @Vegan_Touring_Cyclist
    @Vegan_Touring_Cyclist 3 года назад +1

    Actually it is just partly made from natural fibers, it has a plastic membrane in it :( (the beaver does not have that, but it is not black :( ) and the lining is made from plastic. The sole is sintetic rubber, so this shoe is mainly made from plastic, not from natural fibers.

    • @EvatheVegan
      @EvatheVegan  3 года назад

      Thanks for your response the membrane (and sole but I think that’s fairly obvious it’s not cotton) only represents a small percentage of the shoe so is still mainly natural fibres, I was going off what the brand claimed and the description of the product. Have a beautiful day 🧘🏻‍♀️

    • @heylookabluejay
      @heylookabluejay 3 года назад +2

      @@christinarainjoy6726 to let sheep even grow out their wool long enough to use is to treat them badly. Can you imagine having all that on your skin? All sheep should be given the space to live happy and regularly kept sheared so that they actually can be. Thousands of years ago they shed it naturally. Humans enslaved them and over time ruined a naturally perfect species by breeding them only to produce more and more of it until it was so thick that they can't lose it themselves. We took away their freedom and gave them miserable existences. We need to show the universe that we have evolved by undoing our evil mistakes and bringing paradise to earth again. It is our responsibility.

      I’ve had these for over a year now and I’ve never had any issues with shards or rocks etc the break I the sole allows extra foot flexibility and is reinforced with a more flexible material rather than sole but the sole itself is hard and durable even though it is so thin and flexible. Like I said I’ve never had any issues a year later and they’re still great would recommend for really wet muddy walks or anything like that though as they are a canvas

    Would you recommend using a waterproof spray/liquid in that area of the sole where the arch is? Since there’s no sole there and it’s just fabric.

    • @EvatheVegan
      @EvatheVegan  3 года назад

      Yes they sell a spray I spray the whole show bottom included :)

    • @Davmm96
      @Davmm96 2 года назад +1

      For good waterproofing, I'd rather recommend waxing the shoe. I find it way more efficient than sprays. Plus you can use your wax many different ways after that, seal birthday letter, wax a ramp at the skatepark for smooth grinds, wax your laces so they hold better (e.g. like on hockey skates).
      Basically, wax will be way more versatile than a waterproofing spray for very nearly the same price. Soy wax or beeswax is super great because sometimes paraffin wax is made from petroleum (paraffin seems like a catch-all word, some paraffin waxes are not oil-derived and can be eaten)

    Thanks for the video. I'm a bit concerned about the gap in the sole, you say you wore them for 2 months and they're damaged already, that doesn't sound too good to me. How are you supposed to protect them?

    • @EvatheVegan
      @EvatheVegan  3 года назад +1

      Hi that’s for commenting they are no damaged but the sole does not cover the whole bottom of the shoe just what parts of you foot would be touching the ground. I’ve had these shoes for almost a year now still wear them all the time they are not very good when it’s wet as they’re not water resistant but have held up really well no issues :) hope this helps

      @@EvatheVegan Thanks for your reply!
      They look absolutely awesome and from what I can tell they are amongst the most comfortable thin soled shoes. They also look well made, the sole is sewn and glued into the upper/midsole on some models which I always prefer.
      Ill probably email them and ask about which material they use is the most robust.
      Thanks again

    • @EvatheVegan

      Surprisingly good, I find minimalist shoes must grippier than regular shoes anyways but because of the flexibility in the middle of the sole extra traction do to extra flexibility

      I don't wash mine often only when they get really muddy or smelly. My Vivo barefoot shoes which I run and workout in I wash pretty often just because they get smell etc and nothing better than clean shoes! I also wear socks with my wildlings as I got the extra hemp insole and I've found after having them for over a year now the insole moves about a little and wearing thicker socks helps with that! Plus I get really cold feet thanks to reynauds

      @EvatheVegan  3 года назад

      Depends how you wash them I show how I wash them in a more recent video of mine. I live in a flat so front door is still inside sadly but I do air them out obviously. When I say I wash them often I mean every few months and for these 1-2times a year. The water used to wash a pair of shoes in the shower is so tiny compared to the water used to produce the things we consume on a daily basis. Even taking one less a month would make up for that.
