I have sicklecell ss also and my drs told me I wouldn't live pass 18 and I won't have kids... I do go into a crisis a lot and often admitted in the hospital but I'm still here and fighting.. I'm now 37 and have a child who's now 13....like my mentor tboz said we can beat this illness.. I love her!
@reggie wolfpac hi..well I wrote that 5 yrs ago when corona wasn't even a thought..I'm now 42 with a 18 yr old who obviously have the trait and a week ago positive for the corona..thank god my son pulled through.. With sickke cell we have to fight harder to not get this virus, so whomever reading this I pray for us all not to catch the virus and pray we all do well with the fight with our illness..

The pain from the moment I broke it is the same if not more pain I had when I have a pain crisis. Luckily Godhas been looking out for me. Haven’t had a major one since 19 and I spent my 20th birthday in the hospital. I’m now going on 24.

Exactly, I hate when people pity me because of my Sickle Cell Anemia. I have Sickle Cell but that doesn't mean I'm weak. I don't need anyone's pity.
They told her she wouldn’t live past 30 but turned out Lisa was the one to have that death sentence (RIP) I’m happy Tboz proved everyone wrong!
