Epson is the real deal and not a toy. I have run Epson's in my dedicated theater room for over 50 years. This is a good starter projector for those that want a little taste and superior image other than from those obsolete Toys R us projectors from China. The Epson 3800 is another great upgrade to this projector but the 5050UB is worthy of a dedicated theater with all black walls and ceilings with no windows. Once you go all black...you will never go back. ;-) Also, Epson's are known as being light canons and will work in a lighted room also with no problem. But a dark room is always best for dedicated movie watching and gaming. The pop of saturated colors and the 3-D pop of the image is insane! NEVER use vivid for movies. Cinema is best and reproduces more colors than all of the other settings. This is true of the 3800 and 5050UB. Vivid is used if you don't have an ideal room. But then that is why you buy a projector and not a regular tv.
The contrast is average and it affects the black levels. It's not so apparent in a moderately lit room. I copied the calibration settings at Projector Central (where they reviewed the US version HC2350) and found it quite satisfactory. For fully darkened room, I slap on an ND2 or ND4 filter which lowers the brightness a bit alongwith the black floor level. Cheers😊
Hello, On video at 13.44 min.. How did you make color format BT2020 HDR10 on 4K 60hz ?? When i set 4K 60HZ color format is SDR not HDR. Please can you explain how did you do that?
Hi, Is it possible to get a projector that can throw up 120" from 2 meters and 30 cm? I have a pitch black room and want good contrast when watching movies
Hi.. Very practical review.. I was comparing this and Your Epson EF12 review side by side. The colours look even richer in EF12 and by no means it looks dim (even though its 1000 ansi lumens against 2800 in TW6250). Can you put some light on this? Would there be a greater difference with some ambient light?
I really like the andoid stick that comes with it. I prefer connecting it to my receiver for better audio formats control, then the remote stops working. Is there a fix for that?
How long did you test the projector? It's almost unusable because of bluetooth/ network connecting issues. It will forget bluetooth connections like the remote. My soundbar needs to be always re-installed and reconnected. It is so slow to connect to the WiFi after starting up and even forgets the wifi occasionally.
I don't have a PS5 and don't know anything about the settings, but the PS4 Pro in Boost Mode and with SuperSampling, my GTA V definitely looks better in 1080p
well, this projector is insane! Compaired to my old Acer .. 4k on 110 inches. Works great even during sunlight/daytime. Very positive about this product. @@karolgolden231
Thanks for the great overview and the many video samples of this little Epson beamer. I read a review where it mentioned you can actually use 4K and HDR at the same time but only at 50hz. Another thing, when you film the projected image on your wall/screen you should use manual settings on the camera you use and lock in a fixed setting for white balance, shutter and aperture value. Because if the camera automatically sets these values, the filmed image will get darker when a bright scene is projected and vice versa. So it's not possible to really judge the contrast, colours and black level with your RUclips video.
The open hdmi port at the back is only hdmi 1.4 so it would do 4k 30Hz hdr but I believe the one under the cover connected to the media stick is hdmi 2.0 so that one would do 4k 60Hz hdr but perhaps someone else can confirm that. I really hate when they add an old hmdi 1.4 port to save what 1-2 dollars 🤦♂
Both projectors are good for movies and will give you equally great looking colours, brightness, contrast and HDR. But the BENQ benefits from better gaming performance with 4ms response and 1080p 120hz.

Can I connect a wireless Bluetooth speaker to it? Great review!
I have the previous gen (5820/2250), I have noticed that this new gen doesn’t have slide lens cover…
How is the black level of the projector? Do you think 35000:1 is much lower to give a fantastic black level

Yea I know. How can the ef12 be better? At 1000 lumens. 😊
@@AntonioAvila1 Hi. I own an EF12 now. Its dim by no means, unless you watch it with all the lights ON.
How many inches does it deliver to 4 meters?

How do you pair the second remote?

Can we directly play content from usb pendrive/hdd ?
Worth investing in a screen for this I think. Or painting wall white at least.
where can I find bluetooth?
android tv isnt good picture processing, usually has oversharpening like 4:43
Waiting for the prices to drop to around $500 then I'd consider a 4k LED or Laser projector
I would still get the Vidda (Hisense) C1S or C1 Pro.
Ive got this and its a really good projector paired with a 1.1 gain screen and its great for the price I paid
Bu cihazın doğal çözünürlüğü 4k mı 1080 p mi?
1080p
But this a Pro UHD which means not a real 4k isn't ? is there any difference between this and a Full HD projector?
2 millions more pixels I guess. 2M on full HD, 4M on 4k pro UHD and 8M on 4K.
Do this projector have eARC ?
Nie bo ma hdmi 1.4 .funkcja eARC jest dostępna tylko w najnowszym hdmi 2.1
Thank you
excellent presentation sir !!

big problem is always hdr mode in all content sdr and hdr
It is native 1080p but consoles can read 2160p?
Native 1080p but can decode 4K, so that means taking a large 4k image and shrinking it down to 1080p, effectively making it better quality than 1080p.
Спасибо, было интересно 🙂🖐️
Great review. For office use, I prefer changing aspect ratio. Does it provide 4:3 option under aspect ratio? Please check.
