Having personal experience with the ZV28 it is absolutely no slouch. And it absolutely thrives and loves to be pushed HARD. Others it sounds good but doesn't have that wow of being eaten alive every time the bass drops. For those of you asking if this is a fair comparison, the answer is yes. It's because of the design. The BB is a dual 18 BASS REFLEX subwoofer. The YV is a 21 inch HORN LOADED subwoofer. What that means is the BB is less efficient compared to the YV when it comes to energy of the sound wave. The YV is louder but the Zv28 plays 10 hz lower at plus 3db. With all that being said it begs the question well what about the vs21? And my answer is that it's still comparable. Because design wise the vs21 is a hybrid between the two subwoofers. It takes the YV and BB design and combines them. The vs21 plays lower but not quite as low as the zv28 but yet it's still almost just as loud if not the same volume at some frequencies because of the horn load design. The horn load design amplifies the sound wave pressure. Thus increasing efficiency of the sound wave. So if you took a single 18 and made two boxes; one being bass reflex and one being horn loaded. One is going to be considerably louder even if they might had the same airspace as the other. But because of the baffle chambers in the horn design the sound wave bouncing off the walls gaining velocity, therefore increasing efficiency and resulting in a louder subwoofer. Hope this helps.
@@djgazaaka5000 very welcome. I can also personally guarantee you that those subs were not setup correctly because they have SOO much more in them than what they were doing in the video. Either the input signal wasn't right or the gain on the subwoofer was wrong. The woofers that are in there are high excursion drivers and they were hardly moving. Your hat also didn't budge when you put it n front of the port.
@@AlexanderBaker1392 and the bassboss volume was all the way up in the back, so I was surprised the woofer wasn't moving a lot, 🤷🏾♂️ maybe bassboss had a strong limiter on it .
@@djgazaaka5000 yeah if the volume on the back of subs was all the way up I’m gonna guess the input signal was not where it should’ve been. Whether it was because of the mixer sub/bass level or because the signal was coming from a processor, regardless, it sounds like it was too low. Bassboss designs there subs to be at optimum performance at or just under quote on quote “limit” that’s where the hard limiter that is talked about comes into play. It works very well. And you can barely tell it’s there because of the sound quality between the amp and the design of the sub itself. But like I mentioned earlier in this case it is far from limiting. 😂 if you can afford the time off I’d go to one of there demos that they travel to or go to DJ Expo, or NAMM.
The bassboss goes down lower and sounds clearer, you need to use the same tune the hip hop one and give them the same amount of listening time so we can hear the variety of notes being played.. 4 ×18in vs how many 21's??
My thoughts is that bassboss sounded more Musical , heavier and solid , but my issues with the bassboss is for that price i need it to be more aggressive , the song is give out is smooth and pleasant , I think they have a strong limiter on it , for the Yorkville, i think it's is louder it will shake the Room more , but bassboss sounded more professional.
Fbt over yorkville by far he told me and he’s a Caribbean hiphop Dj ntn but heavy bass and the Fbt smash es18 in pressure and quality I believe it I’ve had 15 Fbt shit was wild I regret selling
York Ville 💪🏼🔊
