Archetype still their best album 🤘
Chrisitian did a helluva job on Archetype. Obviously not the same as Dino's playing but still in the archetypal vein of Fear Factory.
FF was always all about all the parts playing in Tandem. Dino did it and so did Christian when he was on bass. It wouldn't sound right if anyone was off ...
***** I enjoyed the songs, but the drums did kill it. Too bad Dino & Burton decided to fire Gene Hoglan over email and replace him with a drum program. SMH
I didn't know that. It's a shame when people go on power trips and interfere with the music. That said, I understand how hard it is to make a living in the music industry, so Dino & Burton wanting to keep FF just a 2-person band is understandable when you think about having to split royalties

Archetype has some sick riffing all around, Chris brought back the hardcore riffs back from the days of demanufacture, which is something FF is missing nowadays, sadly. Also, Chris had that deftone-ish type of chords that made him different from Dino, I like what he did on Archetype and Cyberwaste is my fave track of the album.
Fuck YES!!! I agree! Best on the CD! The whole CD is badass! Just imagine how BADASS Fear Factory would be if Dino would lose the attitude and he and Wolbers bothers played in FF again....
This is the heaviest song in the history of Fear Factory...Christian did a great job...
To be honest i didn't miss Dino on that album .The album is fantastic
Archetype was a killer record some slamming riffs on that album.
I always liked Christians style, very passionate, flash but genuine. A surprisingly good teacher for someone claiming not to know anything about theory =), good track, made me want to listen to Archetype, good throwback to Soul Of A New Machine's grind core sound, Metal really needs more Axemen like Christian Olde Wolbers, Rex Brown, Jason Newsted, David Ellefson, Cliff Burton...
The best Fear Factory album
Love the way MOST popular metal guitarist guys , rhythm players, typically have no idea about musical theory. In my opinion that lack of knowledge is actual what RELEASES the player , to just play , and not go ...

Music is about FEEL , Emotion!!!!, playing to a FEELING and not Structured (ie Rules!! ) , there are no rules to a feeling, it simply.......

Rachel Oconnorjones Not really disagreeing with you as such but a certain knowledge of theory can be quite helpful, especially if you're playing with a keyboardist :)
Absolutly agree with you ! however point I was making was more squared at someone who has leart from a book. I have a good mate who never jams, juts plays other peoples music, covers , learnt all his technique from a "what to do" book, books. He cant jam , he has no feeling what so ever to hook into a vibe and play around it. I myself played for 25 years , knew LOTs of theory eventually because I made myself go back after playing fairly well for 15 years and learn it as I reached a point where I was technically in a rut. It help my playing a million-fold. Opened up soo many new doors of creativiety, kinda like discovering a billion new colours to paint with. My point I was making was aimed at the unfortunate text book players.
Ah! Well that is, however unfortunate, the best way for some people to learn an instrument.
sadly yes ! , for me i lived in a house where i was happy sitting in my room alone for hours on end constantly working on Master of Puppets ( as one track i used to struggle with, as with slayers Born of fire ., as a few that i cut my teeth on ..

It would be amazing if Christian came back to Fear Factory as a SECOND guitarist. Him and Dino teaming up writing riffs would be insane!
Dino's ego is the other guitar player. I love his playing and he seems like a really cool guy in interviews, but the way he did Christian was nasty.
I prefer Christian to Dino. Archetype is their best album without Dino.

Christian in my opinion you dino,and dimebag are the best guitar players I ever heard. That would be cool if u got together with ff again.
I've always felt it'd be really scary to admit it out loud, but it's my favorite too. It's the only Fear Factory album I've ever been able to listen to all the way through n' like every song.

If by "unique" you mean a complete copy of Dino's playing then you are correct.
@@douchymcdouche169i don know if his a copy of Casares .Archetype was a really good album .Christian and Herrera are good musicians and its a lost that they split from FF. When they were together, this band had it all .

@@douchymcdouche169 Being a bassist does not mean that he does not know and does not write music, many musicians they play all instruments .if the albums that Christian played were not good we would not discuss it but they are good. Surely Casares is the soul of FF but Christian deserves at least skme respect .

As much as I love the newer FF stuff, it still righteously pisses me off that Christian and Raymond got shafted the way they did. Burton and Dino need to get those guys back, and made a REAL Fear Factory album, with the lineup that bashed out the classics.

I don't see that one coming out. he only one they released in Silverburst was the archtop Dinky with the ToM and normal inlays. They dropped that one in 2009, too.

I'm not a hater! I love christian and really wish him and Ray would come back (they do want to) but Dino is a twat and Burton doesn't want to butt heads...
Though I think both Dino and Christian should both play guitar if they ever get back together. Get Byron Stroud back again for bass.

I really don't think Christian is a better player than Dino. Dino did write the majority of Fear Factory's best material. It is however, becoming quite evident that Dino is running out of ideas judging by the material on The Industrialist. I wish they would just get back together with all the original members and write a real Fear Factory record again.

@@jackbauer1818 Well, the other guy was right. Dino wrote the blueprint, Christian used all his best ideas and did a great Dino imitation on Archetype, then completely shat the bed on the next album. Dino is Fear Factory, pretty much.

Dino is the original Guitarist for Fear Factory and always will be. Demanufacture was the album that defined this band and it's aggressiveness unlike transgression which was a weak album but it sure is the best for the fans who bought that album and liked them during that period of time. Arkaea's riffs are weak and they were going to be the new ff tracks it would've been a mess and a HUGE disappointment.
i will say that cyberwaste is easily the worst song on the record, songs like slave labour and drones and top tier fear factory imo, and yes i agree, hopefully even better than the already great mechanize, although none will top demanufacture
