I just discovered this movie recently and I've already watched it 3 times. It's one of my favorites! It's unfortunate that I didn't discover this as a child, as I would have absolutely loved it for sure.
I’m almost 26 now. And I remember very clearly when I was 6 and Blockbuster Video was still around, I went one day with my father to find a movie to watch that evening, and I just happened to pick a DVD of My Neighbor Totoro from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, I watched it that night and again the next day and the day after it was remarkable. I think it was also the first anime film I ever got to see, and I didn’t know the terminology of “anime” at that time.
This song is taken from another song from the 70’s at least parts of it can anyone help with the original song? There are lyrics that fit the song, part that I get goes in the morning sun just can’t remember more
Are you sure about this? Keep in mind this film, and the music, is Japanese. If you can find a link to that half-remembered song, I'd love to hear it and be proven wrong.
Sounds like a performance of one the movements of the orchestral suite called "Totoro Concert For Children". It's published, at least in Japan, so you might be able to find it (or order it) at music shops. Don't know who played on this recording, though!

@@Lierofox Yes, that's the name of the album of the recording. The sheet music for this concert piece is published under the name "Totoro Concert For Children" as far as I know. I've actually held and leafed through it, so unless I misremembered when posting 4 years ago, the album and the sheet music go by different titles.
