With all its faults the NCR is the best hope for the wasteland by far. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't thought about it very much. Boo hoo taxes. Such a shit tier complaint compared to complete anarchy, legion slavery or Mr Houses dictatorship.
Not if the NCR continues as it is. The corruption alone will cause it to fragment and ultimately crumble. The NCR doesn't operate largely within a relative safe zone where such a society can afford the hemorrhaging that corruption causes. The Legion won't last because it can't support itself once it runs out of civilizations to subdue. However, Caesar's NCR might have a chance if he conquers the NCR and integrates with it as he intends to. The legion's operations would be heavily influenced by the NCR, and the NCR would be equally influenced by the Legion's. Both systems on their own have risen and fallen countless times (and every time) since the dawn of human civilization. So we already know the end result if society were to only follow one or the other. The only way to attempt success would be with something new, and Caesar's idea is just one of those new proposals. Remember that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly while expecting different results. The wasteland is a ever present entity that happily forces a reality check to keep people sane.
I don’t understood how the NCR is running out of food, you’d think with the most powerful figures being ranchers and having territory in the Central Valley would lead to there being a surplus of food. Water I can more understand but for only 700000 people going through several lakes in 100 years seems a bit quick. Modern California has 38mil and yet those lakes are still there

I was born in the Central Valley, the whole region was naturally primarily desert and prairie, artificially turned into fertile grassland after the Great Dustbowl wrecked Oklahoma and all the farmers fled to California. After a nuclear war I'd imagine most would revert to its original state. Which explains how arid Fallout 1 is. Idk where Shady Sands is exactly, but Necropolis is Bakersfield and Lost Hills Bunker is Lost Hills. That's all currently prime farmland because of human intervention. 80 years after nuclear war? Desert grassland sounds reasonable. Enough shrubbery for brahmin to survive, if managed properly, and maybe soil good enough for small communities. But anything on the scale of the NCR, the prime farmland is probably now the Yuba Sutter area on the border between NorCal and the Central Valley. That area isn't all too big before it hits Mount Shasta, so i can see how they'd be struggling as their population rises.

Real quick, elder Elijah wasn’t the only one to escape Helios, as a matter of fact, the current leader elder macnamara was made elder because of his heroics in evacuating after they had lost Elijah. I could be mistaken though I won’t lie I’m basing this off a recent play through a few weeks ago so apologies so I sound like an ass
Tbh man for that info I went straight off of the Wiki and it said all that survived from that base was Elder Elijah, but yeah could be wrong. Maybe some were held prisoner and escaped but I was just going off of that info
Helios a lot of people died but a lot survived most of the members that aren’t initiate since most are the surviving children of those that died even in Sierra Madrea the mute is a BoS who knew Elijah as well
I'm actually doing a New Vegas playthrough right now, doing the NCR quest line, and when the quest giver (Colonel Moore) sends you to destroy the Brotherhood, she says that she knows a whole bunch of them survived and ran away from the Helios fight.

Thanks for the history of the NCR, definitely a favorite faction of mine. A classic example of a flawed society, meaning well, but taking drastic actions to secure their goals. However, it is in the NCR's reach to to achieve a greater good, albeit only if leadership improves. It is also the fact that they are practically the only faction with both the power and commitment to improve the lives of those within their boarders. Most other factions either lack strength or any moral grounds to do so. Again, much thanks and I hope to see more of your videos in the future. For The Republic.
@goreMagala ngl I might've overreacted a bit. It's just that there are a few inconsistencies like how did the ncr fall when they had other city's and how come shady sands is way smaller and in a completely diffrent location (from what I heard its where the boneyard would be) The main thing that has people saying this is the chalkboard in vault 4 how it says shady sands fell in 2277 (first battle of hoover damm is also that year and new vegas takes place 2281) So either a: it isn't cannon or b: someone fucked up in set design and other inconsistencies can be summed up to lack of resarch It's sad to see cause I really liked the show and other people are calling it dog shit over what could be just a mistake in set design Also now I realised bethesda wouldn't retcon it cause they knew the back lash they would recevie

He explained the cannon wrong many times and a couple times he even just made shit up like how the ncr apparently took over arroyo and how the chosen one died, arroyo is still independent and being controlled by the chosen one, who is not dead, you can literally continue to play fallout 2 after you beat it, and the game can’t end without you leaving the rig.
Play the fallout mod for EU4 perfect for this

Real quick, elder Elijah wasn’t the only one to escape Helios, as a matter of fact, the current leader elder macnamara was made elder because of his heroics in evacuating after they had lost Elijah. I could be mistaken though I won’t lie I’m basing this off a recent play through a few weeks ago so apologies so I sound like an ass
Tbh man for that info I went straight off of the Wiki and it said all that survived from that base was Elder Elijah, but yeah could be wrong. Maybe some were held prisoner and escaped but I was just going off of that info
nah you're right, even Veronica was there
Helios a lot of people died but a lot survived most of the members that aren’t initiate since most are the surviving children of those that died even in Sierra Madrea the mute is a BoS who knew Elijah as well
I'm actually doing a New Vegas playthrough right now, doing the NCR quest line, and when the quest giver (Colonel Moore) sends you to destroy the Brotherhood, she says that she knows a whole bunch of them survived and ran away from the Helios fight.

Just to clarify the one who saved Tandi was the Vault Dweller (Albert Cole?) not the Lone Wanderer from Fallout 3
Okay I just looked it up again and yeah I made a mistake, Goddamit. Thanks for pointing it out

Albert Cole is not canonically the vault dweller. He’s just one of the premade characters. There is no canon name for the Vault Dweller other than… well the vault dweller.

New vegas isn't cannon anymore
@@mysteryguy8842yes it is canon you’re honestly pathetic if you really jump on the bandwagon of it not being canon.
@goreMagala ngl I might've overreacted a bit. It's just that there are a few inconsistencies like how did the ncr fall when they had other city's and how come shady sands is way smaller and in a completely diffrent location (from what I heard its where the boneyard would be)
The main thing that has people saying this is the chalkboard in vault 4 how it says shady sands fell in 2277 (first battle of hoover damm is also that year and new vegas takes place 2281)
So either a: it isn't cannon or b: someone fucked up in set design and other inconsistencies can be summed up to lack of resarch
It's sad to see cause I really liked the show and other people are calling it dog shit over what could be just a mistake in set design
Also now I realised bethesda wouldn't retcon it cause they knew the back lash they would recevie

Shady sands isn’t even the capital of the NCR by the time of the movie, it’s the Hub. And it’s a whoole lot bigger than a few settlements. So unless Vault TEC nuked all of it, it should still exist.
@@PheonixRising2988is the movie canon to the games? Cause if it is then this puts it at odds with Fallout New Vegas. It takes place within 2281 and at that time, Shady Sands is still the capital. The show had the city nuked on 2277.
