Such an great year of racing. Would have been cool to see if he had stayed on Suzuki for 2010, instead of the horrible year he had at Kawasaki. That was back when everyone liked the Suzuki 450! lol
Agreed I think Reed a massive miscalculation that year and frankly since then, he never could just be satisfied and build a bike team with or without a factory around him post that year.
Guys an absolute legend. He come back to Australia just before doing that series for the AusX supercross which was really cool of him. I actually seen him race a few times as a teenager in Australia when I was young. Had a factory team poster with him on it when he was only 15 but gave it away 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️😭. One of my biggest regrets
Honestly probably the most competitive reeds ever been straight up against James in sx he’d actually get passed and pass bubba right back and would hang with him right on each others back wheel the entire race and the only premiere outdoor championship reed has is on that makita Suzuki I always thought it was some of the fastest reed ever looked was with that team on that bike and obviously had probably the best mechanic in the game hands down at the time in goose
It’s pretty crazy how big the salt lake track was too, the floor space was really maximized. I feel like salt lake floor space has definitely shrunk a bit
He didn't win a championship but he had a successful year it sucks to let him go to focus on moving Dungy from the 250 to 450. Richard said he loved that bike and that team I'm surprised you didn't include a clip of him doing a backflip on it
Stewart crashed his brains out all season and still beat Reed. That 09 factory yz was a terrible bike. James hated it. Fun fact. Chad reed has NEVER won a championship while stewart and carmichael were racing. He only won his championships while they were injured/out. Where as JS7 and RC4 won ALL their sx championships while reed was racing.
@@jettcrowell836 Championships are an achievement. But not the whole story. Everyone talks about James Stewart's speed. Before James Stewart nobody scrubbed and nobody ran their front forks crazy stiff to be able to blitz the whoops. When James stewart left the sport literally everyone was scrubbing even the guys at your local tracks. He changed the way people rode motocross bikes. Other pros still reminisce about his insane speed. He's 2nd on the all time win list behind the king of sx. If we only cared about championships just look at the 2018 season. Anderson won the 450 championship with only 4 wins that entire season. Or Dungey who always settled for second place his entire career. And got the doors blown off when Ryan Villopoto flew by. Ask any casual fan if they ever heard of Ryan Dungey or reed and a lot of them will say no. Ask people outside of the sport if they ever heard of James Bubba Stewart and damn near everyone will know who you're talking about
@@motoxtim34 hahaha uhhh your comment that I was responding to was about championships? I’m not arguing about speed. Stew was the fastest man on the planet without question but the reason for that was because he often rode over the limit. That comes with a cost
This is the first year I discovered and watched supercross. Now i still fan and I ride. Reed was my idol I had the chance to meet him at Paris SX

2018 was probably Suzuki their last good year (mxgp/ama)
And Peick their last good rider
@@BioDjango roczen?
@@lucadonorio1815 was 2016 , Peick was with the team until i think 2018
Reed looked so good here:
2009 Suzuki
2011/2012 Honda
There is no doubting Chad Reeds talent and work ethic, what a warrior!!! One of the all time greats!!
That Travis Pastrana designed track is still the coolest track I've ever seen in SX I think. 4:54
Yes!

He lives in California w/his family. Near my neighborhood. I wave to him but he doesn't know me . Lol
I was the biggeset fan. Still have my 07 rmz450 being 46 years old. will keep till the end!
👌🏻

Those were some of the best tracks back then.
Man I thought he looked so dam good on the zook
All these tracks are sick, even Jacksonville which is probably the most basic one of them all is pretty gnarly compared to todays tracks
Even the motocross racing was gnarly
Chad was easily my favourite. Idk why he still gets hate, he is one of the greats top 5 imo
I hated Reed but even then i thought he had the dopest kits this year. The look was cold af every round
Hes a heck of a racer an person . Much respect to him .
Who doesn't miss Ralph!? Way to animated
Rode my 09 RMZ450 yesterday at Maitland MX social day. Great bike!
Reedy was a true champion but ran into RC an JS in that era
It’s pretty crazy how big the salt lake track was too, the floor space was really maximized. I feel like salt lake floor space has definitely shrunk a bit
Entertaining stuff
Looked super good on the zuk
Chad Reed was fresh in that suzuki
No doubt how great RC was, but makes you wonder how dominant Reed was on his bike along with Decoster as team manager
And that year he also backflipped the suzuki with Travis pastranna haha
How did stewart save that at 6:57 ??? WOW
He's a Chad
Stewart and Yamaha man 😂 funny times

He did, the AMA outdoors
Wish he would've stayed on Suzuki!
Is this a "Stewart is Down" video or a Chad Reed video?
Lol!
Anyone know how much hp this bike was running? I heard 62hp just a rumor tho
Tracks were so much better back then. Far better than the cookie cutter BS with jump after jump after jump.
Never liked 22. Except when he ran over 7.
lmao

Yet Reed still has as many championships as Stewart 🤔 Almost like you can’t win if you’re injured
Being able to stay healthy is a skill as well, even Villopto says this

Never won championship while JS7 was racing.. Reed no good
