- The bernette sew&go 1and 3 are mechanical sewing machine with a stitch package of 10 and 19 stitches respectively. In this video tutorial we show you how to thread you bernette sew&go sewing machine and how to get ready to sew.
Both sew&go sewing machine models provide excellent basic functions at a very economical price. Clearly designed and easy to operate, they are perfect for beginner sewers. A full four presser feet (soles), including the buttonhole foot and a zipper foot, come as standard with the bernette 1 and 3. The two knobs on the front of the machine and the wheel on top can be used to set thread tension or stitch length, as well as to select stitches.

Hi Gracie, the threading of the needle is nearly identical on other bernette machines. You can watch the video for the b33 / 35 models to see how to use the needle threader.

Morning dear have little problem on mine the bobin case the one that lock inside falls out and have broken 3 needles
Dear Lungile Thabede, sounds like the bobbincase is not inserted fully. Make sure all the broken needle bits are cleaned out and try again. Please follow the directions on page 16 of the instruction manual, make sure you push it right in and you should hear a little click. The needle should also inserted as much as you can and then tighten well.
What’s the size of the needle that is used? Also, how do i replace the needle if it breaks?
Hi Kanaka, how to insert the needle correctly is explained in detail in the manual on page 17.
Which needle should be used depends on the material and thread. As standard needle we recommend a universal needle of 80 Nm. You can find a good overview under the following link: issuu.com/berninainternational/docs/bernina_nadelbroschuere_en_low-res

Can we use twin needle for this machine ? And if yes where is the other thread holder on the machine for twin needle?
Hi Mia, yes, you can use twin needles with a maximum width of 2 mm. In the accessories there is an extra spool pin included to use for the second thread spool. In the instruction manual you find more information to the settings.
Can I thread the needle without using the automatic needle threader?
Of course you can thread the needle without the needle threader. But when you are used to it, you will miss it. 😉
My Bernette sew & go 1 does not have a automatic needle threader. I can't see it. Can it be purchased separately.

It does not work it keeps slipping I cannot put the thread on the needle
Hi Sharon ongmit Lepcha, it is important that the presser foot is lowered and that the right hand moves towards the needle when releasing the lever.

Does the sew & go 5 have automatic needle threader?
Hello Arthur, the sew & go 5 have a manual needle
threader. The usage is explained in the video from 2:25 min onwards.
@@Mybernette thank you. Am still in two mind weather to buy the go 3 or go 5. I like the go 5. But we are growing old @ the auto needle threader is useful.

Hi Claudia, the needle must be pushed up really well and then the screw can be locked with the screwdriver. Make sure that the flat side of the needle points to the back.
