I after, I could probably learn all his tricks including the horizontal and behind the back stuff in a month and I've only been yoyoing 9 months or so. I obviously couldn't do them that fast but they weren't original or particularly difficult.
I don't think you understd how hard it is to win a competition, and what it takes to win a competition. Jakub's tricks may not be original or fancy, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. What matters is technicality, cleanliness, audience engagement, etc. And as you can se, Jakub had all of the requirements to win EYYC.
I did his whole freestyle tricks. Like why did he even get 1st? Like... its so easy.. Away from the subject of this kid getting 1st while his tricks are relatively easy and his behind the back combo is just silly and his speed combo is very slow, I think he will get last in WYYC and he is now sponsored by YYR for no reason. Even though I don't like the 2nd placer, Tal I still think Tal should've got 1st. Or even Janos. Man, I don't like this kid.
Nobody here understands just how good of a performance this was. Did he copy Hiro and Iori? Yes he did, but everything was set in place. Execution was very clean, I haven't seen too many mistakes. And the speed? You are all saying that you could learn this in a month. You must be kidding me. He is as fast as HIRO!!! That is crazy fast. You do not understand what it takes to get to this level of speed.
Could get a regional. The faster style is more novel in Europe I guess? While his performance was very well put together, visually appealing, clean, and extemely well executed, there was a certain lack of innovation and creativity within the routine. It seemed like a generic safe speedster style
Most europeans are going with technical tricks and some just go with speed stuff which make the speedster style rare in europe,just my opinion
