I finally realized why I like your channel so much. Your first priority are the reviews. Too many channels are focused on the hosts' personality first; the actual review seems to be an afterthought. You guys keep that to a minimum and just.review.vehicles. I appreciate that.
Well thank you, we appreciate the kind words and are glad you like what we are putting out. Our main goal is to help people buy vehicles and make the process a little easier for them.
You bring the entertainment of your reviews to another level by going off topic, making jokes and having so much fun! We need that type of content more than ever! Thanks again!
The exterior styling is one that we’ll eventually grow on you, but the interior and the BMW handling dynamics more than makes up for it. Thanks for another great review! Love your channel.
Good point about battery size and resource allocation. Full EVs with huge batteries and mega performance are not exactly “green” - which is fine if one has the means and intent to purchase excess. However, the government should not incentivize that option with public funds.
Did you know that the slim LED headlights are the slimmest BMW has ever put in a production vehicle?! So many 💎 in this video. You all really have outdone yourselves with this review.
The better option is the ixdrive 40 89 000 and no crystal in the cabin. Less weight with the 77kw/h battery and more fuel efficient. Looks very good in black and white. You should review it this fall!
I just want to thank both of you. I think you do great work. Your videos are both informative and entertaining. I’ve been watching you guys for years. We’ll done!
I had a Rav4 hybrid as a rental last week and got 40mpg in mixed suburban/highway driving. We own a NX made on the same platform and the difference was surprisingly wide. The Rav felt more like a truck with bumps unsettling the chassis and much more road noise. However, we only get 26.5 mpg over all with the non-hybrid NX.
Thanks for the review! I ordered a fully loaded iX 50 back in February. I don’t own any gas cars, me and my wife have been daily driving our Chevrolet Bolt Evs for 4 years. This BMW should serve us well as a 3rd car for outings.
It took me approximately 7 years to like what the BMW i3 looks like (launched in 2014), and their logic (in design). Unlike the i8, which took … around 6-1/2 seconds! This latest BMW offering I’m sure, will grow on me… maybe. However… at over $120,000 Canadian, it might take me about 9-1/2 YEARS to figure out how I’d be able to afford it. Thanks for your impressions.
Love your thoughts about the 66 RAV4 hybrids. It definitely makes sense, unfortunately, we can see that it's not the true goal of BMW. Great reviews as usual!
I decided to buy the M60 over the Tesla Model X because of the fit and finish of the interior. The test drive sold me, immediately. However, your quip about the battery/ies is exactly right; this is lunacy. I wish it were a hybrid. This is the first time I've run across your channel, but that comment, alone, made me subscribe. Finally, common sense instead of blind fanaticism.
In the old days I always wanted a BMW. Now that I can afford one, Except for the 2 and the 8 they are so grotesque, I wouldn't want one. Thank's BMW! Saved me a lot of money!
I thought it was ridiculous for Hyundai to charge people a monthly fee for remote start, but now I'm reading that BMW is charging monthly fees for heated seats, heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control and High beam assist. This is crazy.and shame on them !
The grill has been and continues to be a stopper. I was set to buy a BMW M4 Coupe when I retired from the Army in 2020, but I could never get even close to accepting that unnecessarily massive grill.
Great review as always but the points on battery size and our consumption of limited resources is spot on. It feels like we’re trying to force the EV transition without a broad plug-in hybrid adoption that would have made a smoother transition (and much better use of resources) … and this is me speaking as an EV owner!
Hybrids are still Burning fuel, which kills with the emissions forget the stupid CO2, it is the noxious emissions. I used to walk along our road to get to my off road trails, and no longer do that, all those stinking fuel burning vehicles chock me out, something you do not have with EV's. Now I drive my EV to my walking trail and avoid all those ICE vehicle emissions. So it not just about global warming, but driving clean. On my 2 EV's no oil changes, oil filters, transmission fluids and I go on and on. I plug in at home so my energy to power my EV's is hydro-clean!
I fully agree with you that an Hybrid vehicle is the better option. Cost is quite reasonable and efficiency is quite good. The Hyundai Tucson could be my next SUV...
For a BMW it is ugly, no amount of lipstick will cure this pig. And at this price range no excuse, please the people in this market or meet the pain of obscurity. Sorry BMW not one of your finest and you produce some of the best cars out there!
No, I can't get past the grill and I will NEVER buy one of these. Why is BMW destroying their brand with horrible styling? I've owned 5 BMWs over the decades and will not be buying any more if they keep pumping them out looking like this. Atrocious.
Another fun fact: you two are truly awesome together, and I love it when you have little comments about your family, like your son's climate change assignment, and "what say you, mom/dad?" 😅
One pedal driving is an art that needs to be mastered. The accelerator needs to be caressed. You can't just stop accelerating abruptly and expect to have a smooth ride. Someone who drives a stick shift or automatic transmission vehicle recklessly will make people sick too. I understand regen braking is new to some people and they won't like it so giving them the option is fine as well.
It looks like a Edsel with two grills , Ugly ! EV’s like you said EVs are way weird , they used to just put an electric drivetrain in a regular car and it worked. I can’t afford any of the these EV’s rebate or not. Pass.
I was looking at one at my dealer a couple of days ago and it looks much nicer in person I found. Especially in an exterior dark colour. Price tag, however…. 🙀
I don't understand the big grill shade by most car reviewers... EVERY SUV has a big grill now, in fact, the BMW grill is one the SMALLER ones on the market! The whole subject seems like a nothing burger.
The higher cloth vs leather seat price is an indication of their target customer and how BMW is looking to exploit them. The cause supporting, tech savvy, progressive, environmentally woke car buyer.
I mean, I can understand with the Vegan seats with the Polestar 2, where its recycled plastic in its material. Though marketing gimmicks cause for bigger price tags.
Let's stop beating about the Bush. BMW's look like garbage, with a few exceptions. Started with Bangle and continues to this very day. They have lost their way, while Porsche, Mercedes, Audi etc. lamps who they are. Had two before and one after. Like the 2, 3 and 5. The rest - pass.
Nose looks like an airplane radar array. I like the look of it but if it wasn't badged I'd swear it was a Mitsubishi. Or maybe what Mitsubishi should be doing. I like the console too.
You’re right. If you can afford one of these, you shouldn’t get any government incentives. They are just too expensive for the average Joe Lunchbucket !!!😎
"Can't fix ugly" that's for sure. Why? Why would one of the greatest car companies of automotive history decided to create fugly looking cars? One may never know.
Hmmm side view reminds me of a first gen Dodge Grand Caravan Steering wheel? No thanks Front grill? No bad Mileage? Average Cup holder placement? BMW/mini has always had problems with this… Open pour wood should be standard Placement for phone? Not sure what they were thinking Pricing? Out of reach for most, which renders this car moot. Seatbelt colour? Spot on.
I live down the street from a BMW manufacturing plant and see these all the time as test vehicles. Looks a lot better in person and the grill doesn't really bother me on their bigger vehicles, it's no bigger than a Lexus grill.
The guy on Bay St is going to be driving a 500hp monster so using an ev reduces a lot of emissions over a gas hotrod equivalent. Also, the tech that goes into these premium cars will trickle down to us common folk.Hopefully by the time new gas cars are phased out there will be plenty of affordable ev options. I am about two cars away from electric. My next car will be an Outback but the one that replaces it will be some sort of ev.
Definetely polarizing styling, I’m not sure I understand the comment that PHEV are the only way to go in Canada 🇨🇦 .. winter battery performance? Also the suggestion that this 100 kwh battery would serve better use assisting 55 x 1,8 kwh mild hybrid surprised me, basic economics teach us that the price of the iX (between 90k CAD since the iX 40 is now available to order to 115k fully optioned) compared to a 30k hybrid RAV4 will automatically distribute the rare materials effectively based on demand and offer.. This iX is quite interesting in my opinion, it offers an alternative to the Tesla model X with better workmanship although 20% less efficiency. This was what BMW was aiming at. Many less polarizing BMW models are coming out in the next year, the iX1 being the next one to be imported to Canada after the i7.. keep up the interesting videos, you are always fun to watch😊
It’s not just the grille.. everything is way out of proportions in this IX it will never grow on me and I think at least 85% people who seen it thinks the same.
My commute is 288 miles one way. My 2024 iX50 gets me there without stopping and recharging it. Actually, the battery needs to offer longer than the 324-mile range, as driving at highway speeds reduces the potential range. I think EVs will take off when ranges exceed 400-450 miles.
On the topic of headlights, manufacturers have focused so much on improving headlight technologies and unique LED lighting signatures. This, in combination with interior electronic screens has caused the issue of owners not turning exterior lights on at night. The number of modern cars being driven as ghost vehicles at night is frightening. No one seems to be addressing this. (My mid 90’s VW had automatic headlights, so cmon…) In some of your shots, it looks like the taillights function as DRL’s. Has BMW finally addressed the ghost vehicle issue?
4:02 This is true for the 2022MY xDrive50, however the 2023MY xDrive50 changed this. If you want 4 wheel steering and 2-axle air suspension, you have to add a total of $17,100 in options given option package interdependencies. You can't even get adaptive cruise control without fully speccing out the xDrive50.
Ain't nothing wrong with a minivan (for convenience and capacity). I agree that the resources needed for this HUGE battery could serve the general public better with 50+ Rav4 Hybrids instead. Thanks for the review and I don't like the Miss Piggy/Darth Vader grill either.
Hello there! Thanks for sharing. We have so many things today everything is changing, tech will become better than ever, but still something I really care is the quality! How reliable those new things can be! I think all reputation is built upon the quality! Not the quality of the materials, it's the quality of the reliability!!
Great video! Both of you are making me through the video. Both of you had made a lot of good points but coffee holder is too far and missing coffee holder in the 2nd row! ☕️☕️
I think those seats prove that everything old eventually comes back in style. :)
I finally realized why I like your channel so much. Your first priority are the reviews. Too many channels are focused on the hosts' personality first; the actual review seems to be an afterthought. You guys keep that to a minimum and just.review.vehicles. I appreciate that.

Nowadays reviews are basically entertainment.... Eg fast food reviewers?
You bring the entertainment of your reviews to another level by going off topic, making jokes and having so much fun! We need that type of content more than ever! Thanks again!
The exterior styling is one that we’ll eventually grow on you, but the interior and the BMW handling dynamics more than makes up for it. Thanks for another great review! Love your channel.
“But you know Andrea, that brings up a good point. WHAT’S WRONG WITH ALL THE STUFF THAT WORKS?!” 😂 13:33
Good point about battery size and resource allocation. Full EVs with huge batteries and mega performance are not exactly “green” - which is fine if one has the means and intent to purchase excess. However, the government should not incentivize that option with public funds.
Right. People who work hard and are smart enough to make a lot of money should always be punished and resented for it.
Absolutely agree, I've been waiting for any car reviewer to bring up this point!
Agree! IMHO, a plug-in hybrid is the Goldilocks.
The interior and performance are inpressive but the outside looks so weird.
The front-end to me looks like the Punisher mask
Did you know that the slim LED headlights are the slimmest BMW has ever put in a production vehicle?! So many 💎 in this video. You all really have outdone yourselves with this review.
lol! Thank you!
The better option is the ixdrive 40
89 000 and no crystal in the cabin.
Less weight with the 77kw/h battery and more fuel efficient. Looks very good in black and white.

"Did you know that this has the thinnest headlamps..." 🤣 love it when zack making fun of Andrea 💕
In the old days I always wanted a BMW. Now that I can afford one, Except for the 2 and the 8 they are so grotesque, I wouldn't want one. Thank's BMW! Saved me a lot of money!
Excellent point on battery size! The comparison to the Rav 4 hybrid was an eye opener. 👍👍
I thought it was ridiculous for Hyundai to charge people a monthly fee for remote start, but now I'm reading that BMW is charging monthly fees for heated seats, heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control and High beam assist. This is crazy.and shame on them !

Had a walk around one of these an it looks much better than photos.
Kia EV6. Hyundai Ioniq5 are 10times better. Indeed. Germans are getting really behind iln EV rally.
"Can't fix ugly." I agree... Ultimate driving machines, but Fire the designers!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and there are allot of us.

Hybrid still has lofty service/parts costs and heavy AF.
I chose a x5 45e but in 4 years I will move to the IX v2 lol
I really think it looks alright in black
NOPE ! This thing is fugly
What an ugly car!
Thanks for the review! How good is BMW's lane centering tech with adaptive cruise? Does it keep the vehicle centered in its lane when turned on?
You guys should make a goof up video it would be hilarious!
For a BMW it is ugly, no amount of lipstick will cure this pig. And at this price range no excuse, please the people in this market or meet the pain of obscurity. Sorry BMW not one of your finest and you produce some of the best cars out there!
Super❤️❤️❤️
on the topic of gas guzzeling V8 SUVs, I like my Cayenne GTS.......LOL. The beemer front is quite different, very different!
It's good to see BMW challenging Lexus for most atrocious front grilles.
Get over yourself and your grills… it’s getting so boring…
16:36 very valid point! Way more hybrids vs 1 EV, if only there was gov incentive on regular hybrids as well.
No, I can't get past the grill and I will NEVER buy one of these. Why is BMW destroying their brand with horrible styling? I've owned 5 BMWs over the decades and will not be buying any more if they keep pumping them out looking like this. Atrocious.
You can lease one for only $749/month with $6600 down now
Looks like a small minivan or wagon, very chunky looking. Frontend is an abomination.
That steering wheel is so ugly. It just looks unshapely and fat in the middle.
Another fun fact: you two are truly awesome together, and I love it when you have little comments about your family, like your son's climate change assignment, and "what say you, mom/dad?" 😅
Thank you so much!

Just test drove one drives really well liked it a lot only problem was delivery I was told 18 month wait
83-100k USD or more! haha
The higher cloth vs leather seat price is an indication of their target customer and how BMW is looking to exploit them. The cause supporting, tech savvy, progressive, environmentally woke car buyer.
Can we just make a round steering wheel .. is it that hard :(
No it's really ugly but not as ugly as the XM though.
I mean, I can understand with the Vegan seats with the Polestar 2, where its recycled plastic in its material. Though marketing gimmicks cause for bigger price tags.

What you say Grill Designer?
Alcantara in German is actually Boogerholden.
Funny
Front grill is terribly ugly. It's a miss on the looks alone.
People got used to the Lexus spindle grill too, so there’s that.
10:50 - no "endangered" Alcantaras were harmed in the making of this video.
Loved your review, but this beemer is just ugly. That headlight looks quite slim. Is that by any chance the slimmest bmw has ever made;)
lol!
"Can't fix ugly" that's for sure. Why? Why would one of the greatest car companies of automotive history decided to create fugly looking cars? One may never know.
The government not making good choices.... I'm shocked!
it has a face of an angry hamster
Hmmm side view reminds me of a first gen Dodge Grand Caravan
Steering wheel? No thanks
Front grill? No bad
Mileage? Average
Cup holder placement? BMW/mini has always had problems with this…
Open pour wood should be standard
Placement for phone? Not sure what they were thinking
Pricing? Out of reach for most, which renders this car moot.
Seatbelt colour? Spot on.
The grill is aggressive. I dont hate it but overall I see minivan in all SUVs.
Love the neighborhoods you guys film your B-roll in. Super fancy.
Thank you!
I live down the street from a BMW manufacturing plant and see these all the time as test vehicles. Looks a lot better in person and the grill doesn't really bother me on their bigger vehicles, it's no bigger than a Lexus grill.
re: "it's no bigger than a Lexus grill". good point, BMW still has a ways to go before catching up to the "supersize" grills found on Lexus and Audi.
Within 30 seconds Zack already complaining about something lol
Why is the Tesla model X in the consideration?
It actually slots between the Model Y and Model X in size. If we didn't mention the Model X then viewers would say, where's the Model X? - Andrea
10:45 Those poor vegans! :)
10:17 “So I guess not all the science is in the back, some of it is in the front” ☠️
Style grew on me and now consider it to be beautiful yet aggressive.
You guys are one of the best auto review channels, love you guys keep doing the amazing work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wow, thank you so much, we appreciate the kind words - Andrea
I can't get passed the grille, I see Bugs Bunny. Thought that the Lexus Darth Vader mask was bad......
I almost fell out of my chair when Zack used the term Miss Piggy while looking at Andrea and her pink dress!
Thanks, motormouth, 4 ur candid review!! w a canadian twist!
Zack's point about battery distribution between 1 car or 66 is right on.
Overall shape is good. But Miss Piggy front grille and crystal knobs are terrible.

Automatic headlights should be mandatory with no way to turn them off while the vehicle is in motion. Simple solution.

I like the boldness of the grill just wonder what real range will be and reliability!
I like the fact that they have made an over the top statement in their styling. Some disruption is a good thing with so many soap boxers out there.
😆 these prices are ridiculous. Glad I just ordered a 350H . Hybrids are the only way to go in Canada
Good morning guys nice video.
Good Morning, thank you!
Great and honest review!
One thing is certain with this EV, is that it looks different!
Thank you for sharing! 🔌⚡🚘
Ain't nothing wrong with a minivan (for convenience and capacity). I agree that the resources needed for this HUGE battery could serve the general public better with 50+ Rav4 Hybrids instead. Thanks for the review and I don't like the Miss Piggy/Darth Vader grill either.
The ugliest minivan/suv since the Pontiac Aztek. Loved the review, you guys are so good.

@@andreaspencer9813 Agree! You are an very welcome Andrea! ☕️☕️
That steering wheel 😧 And crystals? They sure went for it. Very happy with my Mercedes GLC.
Finally an electric car that doesnt have a front that looks like a face of a fish. For me i like the big "grills" 👍👍
Another great review !! Always enjoy your videos!!
Damn... from "married me" straight to LED headlights... tough crowd!
