Choi Ung is a very simple human being. He don't want to get hurt again + he can't live without yeon-su in his life = friendship. It's fcked up but kinda acceptable at the same time. I feel like I’m in the minority with Choi Ung. Was it annoying that he asked to be friends? Yeah BUT he still is in the dark about yeonsu’s feelings so I can see in his head “yeah I like her still but she probably doesn’t like me but I still want her around and if I can’t be with her then can we be friends??” Idk I sympathize with both of them a lot. But I really understand Choi Ung’s perspective. And his wanting to be friends will be the catalyst for yeonsu finally being honest!!!
"Can exes be friends together?" Depends on what kind of relationship you had. If you came to a mutual understanding that both of you weren't compatible as a couple and have come in terms with it, then it might be possible. But again it REALLY depends on the type of relationship and breakup you've had.
I think Ung is used to being alone bcoz his parents are super busy with their business, that's why he was so attached with Yeonsoo. So when she left him, his world crumbled down. But its sad coz he didn't know real reason why Yeonsoo had to leave him. :(
I don’t get why everyone is saying that Choi ung is being selfish by wanting to be friends with yeonsoo. Like, he obviously still loves her but is afraid that she might break his heart again if they come back together. So the best way to safe his heart is by being friends with her, cause he can’t live without her. I get that it’s also complicated for yeonsoo, but i mean if someone leaves you without giving you any reason whatsoever I’d be traumatized too...
I agree it's a traumatizing thing Yeonsu put him through, and if it's too hard for him to be with her again then it would be his right to turn her down. Asking to be friends though just hurts someone who obviously still has feelings for him. It's not that he "can't" live without her, he just doesn't want to. His actions are understandable, but they protect himself at the cost of hurting Yeonsu, which is why they're selfish.

The decisions that haunts people the most is hesitated decisions(if you don't get what you want in the end). If he's sure about not wanting to date yeon soo then it's okay but if this is the other way around then he will regret it like yeon soo regretting now.

If someone wants to get out of a relationship why can't they? And what is wrong about her wanting to restart the relationship??( She admitted that she was only thinking about herself ) . Is the answer " She might break up with him again" . who can't??. Just adding my 2 cents about the "can exes be friends" debate, I think it's possible but 1.) not super close friends, and 2.) yeonsu and choi ung def can't lol. I've been able to be friends with my exes but it definitely took time, maturity, lots of understanding, and proper closure--which combined together is pretty rare to find and def does not exist between yeonsu and choi ung at the moment lol.
