  • Space Science Episode 2: What it takes to become an Astronaut
    To look at the Earth from outer space - who doesn’t dream about that view? But is being an astronaut really a dream job? Are the years of training and hardships each candidate must be willing to endure really worth it? Prof. Dr. Ulrich Walter, astronaut and space expert, knows what he’s talking about because he did it. In this episode of Space Science, he shows what demands are asked of today's applicants and recounts stories of legendary astronauts.

    To anyone else wanting to be an Astronaut, remember the Latin phrase "Per aspera ad astra". It translates to "Through hardships to the stars".

    Its not just wanting the opportunity, you have to be in STEM of some sort, the government organization you have chosen means performing some sort of service like being in the military or holding a government position helps a lot, the university you study at is also important, physical health must be at peak capability(no health issues or history of health issues) and most importantly absolute determination to the mission. Its actually just like the military, you must commit fully to the mission regardless of what the outcome may be.

      That's near impossible - nasa requires you to have a degree in stem, usually takes 3 years minimum, (unless you get a degree from air force etc.) then at least 3 years experience in a stem/military job then you need to do the application process which takes some time, then the training itself, then you have to wait some time until you get chosen to go into space. But nasa saying that there isn't an age limit may mean it is possible for younger people to join nasa as an astronaut in the future maybe. But that shouldn't keep you down, even if you become an astronaut at the age of 40, it is still an incredible achievement! Work hard!

    • @TeakOrange
      @TeakOrange 2 года назад

      @@ProgNoizesB eh not really. For example, the crew of inspiration 4 needed to train for 6 months just to go up there for 3 days in a small dragon spacecraft, let alone the iss. Yeah sure you might be able to pay a bunch of money to go into space, that doesn't mean there isn't any training, and you would need a load of money, so unless the commenter is the child of Bill Gates or a random billionaire or starts an incredibly successful business before they turn 20, it is near impossible.

    im trying to open a new concept community center and i understand peter thiel is rewarding 50,000 for a breakout lab my concept is a multiplex with 4 or more floors
    1st floor A.i cafe craft lounge knitted aliens r2d2 smoothie machines 3d printers dioramas and more
    2nd floor hackerspace machine learning computer building, service drones air traffic concepts and so on household robotics
    3rd floor global innovation center summing up waste efficiency Finlands housing first system and saving the elephants with Robert downy juniors footprint coalition and tour guides and so on
    4th floor is a space station sci fi shuttle replica and future concepts and current mission progress aswel as space food and vendors with not co and micro biologists working toward super foods such as tigernut cookie dough machines and complex studies i can seriously elaborate on such as mushrooms which prevent Alzheimers
    extra floors might go on to include underground vertical farms hyperloop subway access and a rooftop garden with marble machines solar water features and much much more i want to see hover bikes lego cities with real mag lev rails ,, paper mache dinosuars and lots of kitbashing projects like alien crash sites and robots brought to life thiers alot more to mention but a big one is a main town hall with backup communications in COPPER ferradate cages incase of a black swan event most likely cuased by the sun and shorting all electric utilities we'd be put back into the stoneage without warning and above all else we should really focus on putting in place a public utility that allows us to socialise in a creative atmosphere and enhance our society and fortify our foundation up to this point its like a save point for humanity that we completely forgot to do in real life lol the library was the last sound support that got us to this point in time before we became internet zombies just sitting by waiting for the next fun event instead of building the future and providing a way for average people to pick up the pace and get involved
    ideally id love to host a meeting but im a small fish dunno where to begin but i will work through the nights until a facility of this description is in a neighborhood near you
