The act of using a mug is called sipping. Not to be confused with mugging which is totally different. Although if you get robbed violently with a mug you could say you were mugged in more ways than one o.O Love the vid btw !
😭😭😭😭😭😍😍😍😍Megan I am freaking out right now! I’m so glad this got picked 😂 seriously been hoping for this video for over a year! It was everything and more. Great job!
Yay! I voted for mugs! Mug #2 (and number 1) look like Raku Firing, where you would paint the clay prior to firing - which is the white-gray portion and then you actually put the clay in a fire pit instead of a traditional kiln. That's what makes the metallic color, no two pieces are the same. I made a set of four plates like that (in a college art class) they were beautiful, I hung them on the wall and eventually they all fell off and broke. They were very fragile. Raku Firing produces some interesting colors.
Aaaw, I'm so sorry yours broke! But they sounded beautiful. I'll definitely ask Rachel soon how she made them. The colors are gorgeous. Normally, I wouldn't like brownish colors on a mug, but when it has that pearly sheen, who can resist?
Love this video Megin! Love the 2 horse motif mugs... also the one you got from Acadia Park. We vacationed in Bar Harbor several years ago, and spent a good bit of time in Acadia. It's Gorgeous. Love your mugs.... and I understand how important it is for them to feel 'comfortable' in our hands. I have a favorite that I use every morning! I swear, my coffee tastes better in that mug :-)
Hey Dottie! Yes, they're gorgeous - I love the artist that makes them. I'm going up to Acadia again this summer in a couple months - woo! What's your favorite mug like?! :D It can make coffee taste 10x better for sure.
We live an hour's drive from Gettysburg, PA. My husband is a history buff, so we go there often to hike and such. In the main part of town they have tons of shops, and I got it there. It's a stoneware mug... it's a two tone sand and slate blue color with an impression of a Civil War canon on it. But it's the weight and shape of the mug that makes it my fave. It's solid, but not too heavy, and it just fits so perfectly in my hand. I love it!!! :-)
I'm a Therapeutic Riding Instructor :) Hippotherapy / being a hippotherapist is a bit different and more geared toward the medical side of things. Therapeutic riding is "therapeutic" in its nature, but not qualified technically as a therapy. Hope that makes sense!
MegInWhispers you said equine and theray ijust assumes hippo - very familliar with both !!!!! I volunteered at A therapytic riding canter from age 9-25 ( im 41 now with horses of my own now ) very rewarding - i admire you for the hard work and dedication .
Thank you Cari!! :) It's truly such an amazing program and I'm so thankful to be a part of it. The atmosphere there is SO supportive and positive. When I put in my notice of stepping down from being Volunteer Coordinator, everyone was so supportive -- it was amazing to have that sense of support as I left to try new things, and it was fun to tell everyone about my adventures in ASMR, ha! I love working there with all the volunteers, participants, and horses!
I have OCD and compulsively pick / chew my cuticles at times. It's a real struggle to avoid doing it most days. I actually meant to include that info in this video, but I forgot / no one asked about it in time so I accidentally left it out!
Nope, no meds :) It's not so bad. A bandaid maybe once every 2 weeks. Strangely, I don't notice the pain -- most of the time, the drive to pick is stronger than any feeling of pain.
I wish something like that worked! I've tried it all. It's a compulsion that's a response to either high stress or boredom. I think to truly get a handle on it, I would need a cognitive behavioral therapy plan, but since it doesn't impact my daily life too much, I don't feel that I need to go to such lengths.
I looooveeee your show and tell videos. And I love all your mugs. Coffee\Tea mugs are life! You are wonderful thank you
Thank you! Let me know if you have any other show / tell requests :) Thanks so much for your kindness!

What happened to your fingers? One is bandaged and the others are scraped up.
I have OCD and compulsively pick / chew my cuticles at times. It's a real struggle to avoid doing it most days. I actually meant to include that info in this video, but I forgot / no one asked about it in time so I accidentally left it out!
Do you take any meds to control it, or anything else? That looks pretty rough on you!
Nope, no meds :) It's not so bad. A bandaid maybe once every 2 weeks. Strangely, I don't notice the pain -- most of the time, the drive to pick is stronger than any feeling of pain.
What if you carried a stress ball with you? Squeeze the crap out of it lol.
