So love your channel. You have made my venture into whole grains simple wonderful and delicious. Thanks for sharing and helping me be successful. Bye-bye for now Wendell
Oh my lanta!!! I have been using home ground flour for years now and doing it all wrong!! I had no clue about letting the flour absorb without the yeast! I used so much unnecessary flour!! Thank you! I made these and they are perfect!! I’m so excited to jump back in and having nice fluffy Healthy Bread!!
Yes, it took me a lot of trouble shooting, and I kind of developed this method, and have found it to be very helpful with most all of my recipes. I am so happy to hear this! Yay!
I'm so excited to try this with fresh milled flour. I have made them before with KA all-purpose so I'm sure it will be a learning curve for me. Thank you for a very detailed video 😊
Yes, there can be a learning curve to baking with fresh milled flour, I hope my videos help ease that learning curve for others! It is my pleasure, thank you so much! 😊
Im going to try these today. I have yet to find a recipe that I really like. But I have found thay cook quicker when I put a lid on the pan. Have you tried that,?
What grind level do you set your mill? Like at the 7:00 mark more/less? I guess l am the one weird person on the planet that doesn't like the taste of sourdough.
My mill doesn't really have levels. I will put a link to my review video that also shows how I adjust it to mill the flour. I like sourdough in some things, but not in everything, so you are not alone! 😊
Thank you so much for all the information about the grains and mill. I recently bought a mill. I ordered hard white and soft white wheat. The bag of soft white wheat had some powdery flour mixed with it and some green colored grains. Are these 2 things common? Do I need to worry about the grain quality due to this? Thanks again!
My pleasure! I would inspect the soft white wheat and make sure there are no holes in the individual grain pieces, the white powder could potentially indicate weevils. But, not necessarily. You can also contact whoever you purchased it from about it, they may have a better answer/resolution. The green colored grains sound like there could be just small amounts of another grain in there, which is not unheard of as long as it's just s little bit. Hope that helps!
Thanks! The company said the powder is related to the soft wheat berries rubbing against each other during processing. I hope that’s correct. This is all very new to me.
That sounds good! Just check for any holes, and you are good to go. If you are concerned, you can freeze the grains for 3 days and that should kill any bugs if there were any.
I have the Harvest Nutri Mill grain mill. I have only used it twice. The first time I milled and cooked with the flour I bit down on a few really hard places, kinda gritty feel. Could that be from my mill? Could I have dialed my disks too tight? Can you get it so tight that it grinds off some of the stone? A little worried about that.
If your mill is new, you may need to run some more dry rice through it, I found that I had to run dry rice through mine a couple times. The stones should be fine, just run 2 whole cups of cheap dry rice through at the finest setting. Hope that helps!
A kitchen aid should work, but you might have to stop and let it rest a bit between kneading. My sister has a Kitchen Aid Pro and makes these often. I hope that helps!
You may be able to, but the texture will be different more like bread. To get the very browned top and bottom it does best on a pan. But I would be interested to know the results of making them in the air fryer, if you give it a shot, let me know how it goes!
I really enjoy watching you. You talk with such confidence and very easy to understand.
I am so happy to hear that! I try my best! Thanks! :)
Excited to make these. Trying as soon as done watching. Grains already milled, milk in pan and butter and eggs room temp. I got this exact mixer😊.
Yay! You got this! :) Let me know how it goes!

Those look great. We love English muffins
Thank you! They are wonderful! Let me know if you give these a try!
I just made these & wow! My husband ate 3 of them right away they were so good. I milled hard white & spelt together. Delicious
I am so happy to hear that! Thanks so much! 😊
This was helpful. I’ve made English muffins a couple other times, but they definitely weren’t perfect. Practice makes better.
Thank you! Yes, just like with everything else I suppose, the more you do it, the better it gets! 😀
Made 2 batches of these a few days back and they are so good. Perfectly soft and delicious
Awesome! I am so happy to hear that! Thanks!
My family requested these & am so glad you shared 😊. Thank you ❤
You are very welcome! I hope you all enjoy! 😊
Looks great! I made English muffins years ago but now that I use fresh milled flour, these will be so much better!
Oh yes, they have such a deeper flavor! So scrumptious. 😋
Looks yummy. Our pail of Kamut arrived last week -yay - looking forward to using it for Engl Muffins. Thanks
Yay! I am so excited for you! Hope you love them!

Just made these, and they came out perfect. Thank you for the recipe.
I am so happy to hear that! My pleasure, and thank you!
i finally tried these and family loved 😍 them
Oh yay! I am so happy to hear that! Thank you! 😀
Im going to try these today. I have yet to find a recipe that I really like. But I have found thay cook quicker when I put a lid on the pan. Have you tried that,?
I prefer the texture without the lid for cooking, I hope you love them!

Are your grain storage containers the 4.7 quart size?
Yes! That is the size I use. Here is the link amzn.to/3pOp8MH
Milling rice do you wash it then let it dry? What kind of rice? I always rinse my rice before cooking it
I just mill is dry from the package. Any rice will do, except partially cooked rice like minute rice will not.
Will a kitchen aid work for this? Or do we need a bread mixer?
A kitchen aid should work, but you might have to stop and let it rest a bit between kneading. My sister has a Kitchen Aid Pro and makes these often. I hope that helps!
